Psalms 45

(Către mai marele cîntăreţilor. De cîntat cum se cîntă: ,,Crinii``. Un psalm al fiilor lui Core. O cîntare. O cîntare de dragoste.) Cuvinte pline de farmec îmi clocotesc în inimă, şi zic: ,,Lucrarea mea de laudă este pentru Împăratul!`` Ca pana unui scriitor iscusit să-mi fie limba!

My heart is inditing a good matter: I speak of the things which I have made touching the king: my tongue is the pen of a ready writer.

Tu eşti cel mai frumos dintre oameni, harul este turnat pe buzele tale: de aceea te -a binecuvîntat Dumnezeu pe vecie.

Thou art fairer than the children of men: grace is poured into thy lips: therefore God hath blessed thee for ever.

Războinic viteaz, încinge-ţi sabia, -podoaba şi slava,

Gird thy sword upon thy thigh, O most mighty, with thy glory and thy majesty.

da, slava Ta! -Fii biruitor, suie-te în carul tău de luptă, apără adevărul, blîndeţa şi neprihănirea, şi dreapta ta să strălucească prin isprăvi minunate!

And in thy majesty ride prosperously because of truth and meekness and righteousness; and thy right hand shall teach thee terrible things.

Săgeţile tale sînt ascuţite: supt tine vor cădea popoare, şi săgeţile tale vor străpunge inima vrăjmaşilor împăratului.

Thine arrows are sharp in the heart of the king's enemies; whereby the people fall under thee.

Scaunul Tău de domnie, Dumnezeule, este vecinic; toiagul de domnie al împărăţiei Tale este un toiag de dreptate.

Thy throne, O God, is for ever and ever: the sceptre of thy kingdom is a right sceptre.

Tu iubeşti neprihănirea, şi urăşti răutatea. De aceea, Dumnezeule, Dumnezeul Tău Te -a uns cu un untdelemn de bucurie, mai pe sus decît pe tovarăşii Tăi de slujbă.

Thou lovest righteousness, and hatest wickedness: therefore God, thy God, hath anointed thee with the oil of gladness above thy fellows.

Smirna, aloia şi casia îţi umplu de miros plăcut toate veşmintele; în casele tale împărăteşti de fildeş te înveselesc instrumentele cu coarde.

All thy garments smell of myrrh, and aloes, and cassia, out of the ivory palaces, whereby they have made thee glad.

Printre prea iubitele tale sînt fete de împăraţi; împărăteasa, mireasa ta, stă la dreapta ta, împodobită cu aur de Ofir.

Kings' daughters were among thy honourable women: upon thy right hand did stand the queen in gold of Ophir.

Ascultă, fiică, vezi şi pleacă-ţi urechea; uită pe poporul tău şi casa tatălui tău!

Hearken, O daughter, and consider, and incline thine ear; forget also thine own people, and thy father's house;

Şi atunci împăratul îţi va pofti frumuseţa. Şi fiindcă este Domnul tău, adu -i închinăciunile tale.

So shall the king greatly desire thy beauty: for he is thy Lord; and worship thou him.

Şi fiica Tirului, şi cele mai bogate din popor vor umbla cu daruri ca să capete bunăvoinţa ta.

And the daughter of Tyre shall be there with a gift; even the rich among the people shall intreat thy favour.

Fata împăratului este plină de strălucire înlăuntrul casei împărăteşti; ea poartă o haină ţesută cu aur.

The king's daughter is all glorious within: her clothing is of wrought gold.

Este adusă înaintea împăratului, îmbrăcată cu haine cusute la gherghef, şi urmată de fete, însoţitoarele ei, cari sînt aduse la tine.

She shall be brought unto the king in raiment of needlework: the virgins her companions that follow her shall be brought unto thee.

Ele sînt duse în mijlocul bucuriei şi veseliei, şi intră în casa împăratului.

With gladness and rejoicing shall they be brought: they shall enter into the king's palace.

Copiii tăi vor lua locul părinţilor tăi; îi vei pune domni în toată ţara.

Instead of thy fathers shall be thy children, whom thou mayest make princes in all the earth.

Din neam în neam îţi voi pomeni numele: de aceea în veci de veci te vor lăuda popoarele.

I will make thy name to be remembered in all generations: therefore shall the people praise thee for ever and ever.
