Ezra 7

Now after these things, in the reign of Artaxerxes king of Persia, Ezra the son of Seraiah, the son of Azariah, the son of Hilkiah,

اِن واقعات کے کافی عرصے بعد ایک آدمی بنام عزرا بابل کو چھوڑ کر یروشلم آیا۔ اُس وقت فارس کے بادشاہ ارتخشستا کی حکومت تھی۔ آدمی کا پورا نام عزرا بن سرایاہ بن عزریاہ بن خِلقیاہ

The son of Shallum, the son of Zadok, the son of Ahitub,

بن سلّوم بن صدوق بن اخی طوب

The son of Amariah, the son of Azariah, the son of Meraioth,

بن امریاہ بن عزریاہ بن مِرایوت

The son of Zerahiah, the son of Uzzi, the son of Bukki,

بن زرخیاہ بن عُزّی بن بُقی

The son of Abishua, the son of Phinehas, the son of Eleazar, the son of Aaron the chief priest:

بن ابی سوع بن فینحاس بن اِلی عزر بن ہارون تھا۔ (ہارون امامِ اعظم تھا)۔

This Ezra went up from Babylon; and he was a ready scribe in the law of Moses, which the LORD God of Israel had given: and the king granted him all his request, according to the hand of the LORD his God upon him.

عزرا پاک نوشتوں کا اُستاد اور اُس شریعت کا عالِم تھا جو رب اسرائیل کے خدا نے موسیٰ کی معرفت دی تھی۔ جب عزرا بابل سے یروشلم کے لئے روانہ ہوا تو شہنشاہ نے اُس کی ہر خواہش پوری کی، کیونکہ رب اُس کے خدا کا شفیق ہاتھ اُس پر تھا۔

And there went up some of the children of Israel, and of the priests, and the Levites, and the singers, and the porters, and the Nethinims, unto Jerusalem, in the seventh year of Artaxerxes the king.

کئی اسرائیلی اُس کے ساتھ گئے۔ امام، لاوی، گلوکار اور رب کے گھر کے دربان اور خدمت گار بھی اُن میں شامل تھے۔ یہ ارتخشستا بادشاہ کی حکومت کے ساتویں سال میں ہوا۔

And he came to Jerusalem in the fifth month, which was in the seventh year of the king.

قافلہ پہلے مہینے کے پہلے دن بابل سے روانہ ہوا اور پانچویں مہینے کے پہلے دن صحیح سلامت یروشلم پہنچا، کیونکہ اللہ کا شفیق ہاتھ عزرا پر تھا۔

For upon the first day of the first month began he to go up from Babylon, and on the first day of the fifth month came he to Jerusalem, according to the good hand of his God upon him.

قافلہ پہلے مہینے کے پہلے دن بابل سے روانہ ہوا اور پانچویں مہینے کے پہلے دن صحیح سلامت یروشلم پہنچا، کیونکہ اللہ کا شفیق ہاتھ عزرا پر تھا۔

For Ezra had prepared his heart to seek the law of the LORD, and to do it, and to teach in Israel statutes and judgments.

وجہ یہ تھی کہ عزرا نے اپنے آپ کو رب کی شریعت کی تفتیش کرنے، اُس کے مطابق زندگی گزارنے اور اسرائیلیوں کو اُس کے احکام اور ہدایات کی تعلیم دینے کے لئے وقف کیا تھا۔

Now this is the copy of the letter that the king Artaxerxes gave unto Ezra the priest, the scribe, even a scribe of the words of the commandments of the LORD, and of his statutes to Israel.

ارتخشستا بادشاہ نے عزرا امام کو ذیل کا مختارنامہ دے دیا، اُسی عزرا کو جو پاک نوشتوں کا اُستاد اور اُن احکام اور ہدایات کا عالِم تھا جو رب نے اسرائیل کو دی تھیں۔ مختارنامے میں لکھا تھا،

Artaxerxes, king of kings, unto Ezra the priest, a scribe of the law of the God of heaven, perfect peace, and at such a time.

”از: شہنشاہ ارتخشستا عزرا امام کو جو آسمان کے خدا کی شریعت کا عالِم ہے، سلام!

I make a decree, that all they of the people of Israel, and of his priests and Levites, in my realm, which are minded of their own freewill to go up to Jerusalem, go with thee.

مَیں حکم دیتا ہوں کہ اگر میری سلطنت میں موجود کوئی بھی اسرائیلی آپ کے ساتھ یروشلم جا کر وہاں رہنا چاہے تو وہ جا سکتا ہے۔ اِس میں امام اور لاوی بھی شامل ہیں،

Forasmuch as thou art sent of the king, and of his seven counsellors, to enquire concerning Judah and Jerusalem, according to the law of thy God which is in thine hand;

شہنشاہ اور اُس کے سات مشیر آپ کو یہوداہ اور یروشلم بھیج رہے ہیں تاکہ آپ اللہ کی اُس شریعت کی روشنی میں جو آپ کے ہاتھ میں ہے یہوداہ اور یروشلم کا حال جانچ لیں۔

And to carry the silver and gold, which the king and his counsellors have freely offered unto the God of Israel, whose habitation is in Jerusalem,

جو سونا چاندی شہنشاہ اور اُس کے مشیروں نے اپنی خوشی سے یروشلم میں سکونت کرنے والے اسرائیل کے خدا کے لئے قربان کی ہے اُسے اپنے ساتھ لے جائیں۔

And all the silver and gold that thou canst find in all the province of Babylon, with the freewill offering of the people, and of the priests, offering willingly for the house of their God which is in Jerusalem:

نیز، جتنی بھی سونا چاندی آپ کو صوبہ بابل سے مل جائے گی اور جتنے بھی ہدیئے قوم اور امام اپنی خوشی سے اپنے خدا کے گھر کے لئے جمع کریں اُنہیں اپنے ساتھ لے جائیں۔

That thou mayest buy speedily with this money bullocks, rams, lambs, with their meat offerings and their drink offerings, and offer them upon the altar of the house of your God which is in Jerusalem.

اُن پیسوں سے بَیل، مینڈھے، بھیڑ کے بچے اور اُن کی قربانیوں کے لئے درکار غلہ اور مَے کی نذریں خرید لیں، اور اُنہیں یروشلم میں اپنے خدا کے گھر کی قربان گاہ پر قربان کریں۔

And whatsoever shall seem good to thee, and to thy brethren, to do with the rest of the silver and the gold, that do after the will of your God.

جو پیسے بچ جائیں اُن کو آپ اور آپ کے بھائی ویسے خرچ کر سکتے ہیں جیسے آپ کو مناسب لگے۔ شرط یہ ہے کہ آپ کے خدا کی مرضی کے مطابق ہو۔

The vessels also that are given thee for the service of the house of thy God, those deliver thou before the God of Jerusalem.

یروشلم میں اپنے خدا کو وہ تمام چیزیں پہنچائیں جو آپ کو رب کے گھر میں خدمت کے لئے دی جائیں گی۔

And whatsoever more shall be needful for the house of thy God, which thou shalt have occasion to bestow, bestow it out of the king's treasure house.

باقی جو کچھ بھی آپ کو اپنے خدا کے گھر کے لئے خریدنا پڑے اُس کے پیسے شاہی خزانہ ادا کرے گا۔

And I, even I Artaxerxes the king, do make a decree to all the treasurers which are beyond the river, that whatsoever Ezra the priest, the scribe of the law of the God of heaven, shall require of you, it be done speedily,

مَیں، ارتخشستا بادشاہ دریائے فرات کے مغرب میں رہنے والے تمام خزانچیوں کو حکم دیتا ہوں کہ ہر طرح سے عزرا امام کی مالی مدد کریں۔ جو بھی آسمان کے خدا کی شریعت کا یہ اُستاد مانگے وہ اُسے دیا جائے۔

Unto an hundred talents of silver, and to an hundred measures of wheat, and to an hundred baths of wine, and to an hundred baths of oil, and salt without prescribing how much.

اُسے 3,400 کلو گرام چاندی، 16,000 کلو گرام گندم، 2,200 لٹر مَے اور 2,200 لٹر زیتون کا تیل تک دینا۔ نمک اُسے اُتنا ملے جتنا وہ چاہے۔

Whatsoever is commanded by the God of heaven, let it be diligently done for the house of the God of heaven: for why should there be wrath against the realm of the king and his sons?

دھیان سے سب کچھ مہیا کریں جو آسمان کا خدا اپنے گھر کے لئے مانگے۔ ایسا نہ ہو کہ شہنشاہ اور اُس کے بیٹوں کی سلطنت اُس کے غضب کا نشانہ بن جائے۔

Also we certify you, that touching any of the priests and Levites, singers, porters, Nethinims, or ministers of this house of God, it shall not be lawful to impose toll, tribute, or custom, upon them.

نیز، آپ کو علم ہو کہ آپ کو اللہ کے اِس گھر میں خدمت کرنے والے کسی شخص سے بھی خراج یا کسی قسم کا ٹیکس لینے کی اجازت نہیں ہے، خواہ وہ امام، لاوی، گلوکار، رب کے گھر کا دربان یا اُس کا خدمت گار ہو۔

And thou, Ezra, after the wisdom of thy God, that is in thine hand, set magistrates and judges, which may judge all the people that are beyond the river, all such as know the laws of thy God; and teach ye them that know them not.

اے عزرا، جو حکمت آپ کے خدا نے آپ کو عطا کی ہے اُس کے مطابق مجسٹریٹ اور قاضی مقرر کریں جو آپ کی قوم کے اُن لوگوں کا انصاف کریں جو دریائے فرات کے مغرب میں رہتے ہیں۔ جتنے بھی آپ کے خدا کے احکام جانتے ہیں وہ اِس میں شامل ہیں۔ اور جتنے اِن احکام سے واقف نہیں ہیں اُنہیں آپ کو تعلیم دینی ہے۔

And whosoever will not do the law of thy God, and the law of the king, let judgment be executed speedily upon him, whether it be unto death, or to banishment, or to confiscation of goods, or to imprisonment.

جو بھی آپ کے خدا کی شریعت اور شہنشاہ کے قانون کی خلاف ورزی کرے اُسے سختی سے سزا دی جائے۔ جرم کی سنجیدگی کا لحاظ کر کے اُسے یا تو سزائے موت دی جائے یا جلاوطن کیا جائے، اُس کی ملکیت ضبط کی جائے یا اُسے جیل میں ڈالا جائے۔“

Blessed be the LORD God of our fathers, which hath put such a thing as this in the king's heart, to beautify the house of the LORD which is in Jerusalem:

رب ہمارے باپ دادا کے خدا کی تمجید ہو جس نے شہنشاہ کے دل کو یروشلم میں رب کے گھر کو شاندار بنانے کی تحریک دی ہے۔

And hath extended mercy unto me before the king, and his counsellors, and before all the king's mighty princes. And I was strengthened as the hand of the LORD my God was upon me, and I gathered together out of Israel chief men to go up with me.

اُسی نے شہنشاہ، اُس کے مشیروں اور تمام اثر و رسوخ رکھنے والے افسروں کے دلوں کو میری طرف مائل کر دیا ہے۔ چونکہ رب میرے خدا کا شفیق ہاتھ مجھ پر تھا اِس لئے میرا حوصلہ بڑھ گیا، اور مَیں نے اسرائیل کے خاندانی سرپرستوں کو اپنے ساتھ اسرائیل واپس جانے کے لئے جمع کیا۔
