Ezra 6

Then Darius the king made a decree, and search was made in the house of the rolls, where the treasures were laid up in Babylon.

تب دارا بادشاہ نے حکم دیا کہ بابل کے خزانے کے دفتر میں تفتیش کی جائے۔ اِس کا کھوج لگاتے لگاتے

And there was found at Achmetha, in the palace that is in the province of the Medes, a roll, and therein was a record thus written:

آخرکار مادی شہر اکبتانا کے قلعے میں طومار مل گیا جس میں لکھا تھا،

In the first year of Cyrus the king the same Cyrus the king made a decree concerning the house of God at Jerusalem, Let the house be builded, the place where they offered sacrifices, and let the foundations thereof be strongly laid; the height thereof threescore cubits, and the breadth thereof threescore cubits;

”خورس بادشاہ کی حکومت کے پہلے سال میں شہنشاہ نے حکم دیا کہ یروشلم میں اللہ کے گھر کو اُس کی پرانی جگہ پر نئے سرے سے تعمیر کیا جائے تاکہ وہاں دوبارہ قربانیاں پیش کی جا سکیں۔ اُس کی بنیاد رکھنے کے بعد اُس کی اونچائی 90 اور چوڑائی 90 فٹ ہو۔

With three rows of great stones, and a row of new timber: and let the expenses be given out of the king's house:

دیواروں کو یوں بنایا جائے کہ تراشے ہوئے پتھروں کے ہر تین ردّوں کے بعد دیودار کے شہتیروں کا ایک ردّا لگایا جائے۔ اخراجات شاہی خزانے سے پورے کئے جائیں۔

And also let the golden and silver vessels of the house of God, which Nebuchadnezzar took forth out of the temple which is at Jerusalem, and brought unto Babylon, be restored, and brought again unto the temple which is at Jerusalem, every one to his place, and place them in the house of God.

نیز سونے چاندی کی جو چیزیں نبوکدنضر یروشلم کے اِس گھر سے نکال کر بابل لایا وہ واپس پہنچائی جائیں۔ ہر چیز اللہ کے گھر میں اُس کی اپنی جگہ پر واپس رکھ دی جائے۔“

Now therefore, Tatnai, governor beyond the river, Shethar–boznai, and your companions the Apharsachites, which are beyond the river, be ye far from thence:

یہ خبر پڑھ کر دارا نے دریائے فرات کے مغربی علاقے کے گورنر تتّنی، شتربوزنی اور اُن کے ہم خدمت افسروں کو ذیل کا جواب بھیج دیا، ”اللہ کے اِس گھر کی تعمیر میں مداخلت مت کرنا!

Let the work of this house of God alone; let the governor of the Jews and the elders of the Jews build this house of God in his place.

لوگوں کو کام جاری رکھنے دیں۔ یہودیوں کا گورنر اور اُن کے بزرگ اللہ کا یہ گھر اُس کی پرانی جگہ پر تعمیر کریں۔

Moreover I make a decree what ye shall do to the elders of these Jews for the building of this house of God: that of the king's goods, even of the tribute beyond the river, forthwith expenses be given unto these men, that they be not hindered.

نہ صرف یہ بلکہ مَیں حکم دیتا ہوں کہ آپ اِس کام میں بزرگوں کی مدد کریں۔ تعمیر کے تمام اخراجات وقت پر مہیا کریں تاکہ کام نہ رُکے۔ یہ پیسے شاہی خزانے یعنی دریائے فرات کے مغربی علاقے سے جمع کئے گئے ٹیکسوں میں سے ادا کئے جائیں۔

And that which they have need of, both young bullocks, and rams, and lambs, for the burnt offerings of the God of heaven, wheat, salt, wine, and oil, according to the appointment of the priests which are at Jerusalem, let it be given them day by day without fail:

روز بہ روز اماموں کو بھسم ہونے والی قربانیوں کے لئے درکار تمام چیزیں مہیا کرتے رہیں، خواہ وہ جوان بَیل، مینڈھے، بھیڑ کے بچے، گندم، نمک، مَے یا زیتون کا تیل کیوں نہ مانگیں۔ اِس میں سُستی نہ کریں

That they may offer sacrifices of sweet savours unto the God of heaven, and pray for the life of the king, and of his sons.

تاکہ وہ آسمان کے خدا کو پسندیدہ قربانیاں پیش کر کے شہنشاہ اور اُس کے بیٹوں کی سلامتی کے لئے دعا کر سکیں۔

Also I have made a decree, that whosoever shall alter this word, let timber be pulled down from his house, and being set up, let him be hanged thereon; and let his house be made a dunghill for this.

اِس کے علاوہ مَیں حکم دیتا ہوں کہ جو بھی اِس فرمان کی خلاف ورزی کرے اُس کے گھر سے شہتیر نکال کر کھڑا کیا جائے اور اُسے اُس پر مصلوب کیا جائے۔ ساتھ ساتھ اُس کے گھر کو ملبے کا ڈھیر بنایا جائے۔

And the God that hath caused his name to dwell there destroy all kings and people, that shall put to their hand to alter and to destroy this house of God which is at Jerusalem. I Darius have made a decree; let it be done with speed.

جس خدا نے وہاں اپنا نام بسایا ہے وہ ہر بادشاہ اور قوم کو ہلاک کرے جو میرے اِس حکم کی خلاف ورزی کر کے یروشلم کے گھر کو تباہ کرنے کی جرٲت کرے۔ مَیں، دارا نے یہ حکم دیا ہے۔ اِسے ہر طرح سے پورا کیا جائے۔“

Then Tatnai, governor on this side the river, Shethar–boznai, and their companions, according to that which Darius the king had sent, so they did speedily.

دریائے فرات کے مغربی علاقے کے گورنر تتّنی، شتربوزنی اور اُن کے ہم خدمت افسروں نے ہر طرح سے دارا بادشاہ کے حکم کی تعمیل کی۔

And the elders of the Jews builded, and they prospered through the prophesying of Haggai the prophet and Zechariah the son of Iddo. And they builded, and finished it, according to the commandment of the God of Israel, and according to the commandment of Cyrus, and Darius, and Artaxerxes king of Persia.

چنانچہ یہودی بزرگ رب کے گھر پر کام جاری رکھ سکے۔ دونوں نبی حجی اور زکریاہ بن عِدّو اپنی نبوّتوں سے اُن کی حوصلہ افزائی کرتے رہے، اور یوں سارا کام اسرائیل کے خدا اور فارس کے بادشاہوں خورس، دارا اور ارتخشستا کے حکم کے مطابق ہی مکمل ہوا۔

And this house was finished on the third day of the month Adar, which was in the sixth year of the reign of Darius the king.

رب کا گھر دارا بادشاہ کی حکومت کے چھٹے سال میں تکمیل تک پہنچا۔ ادار کے مہینے کا تیسرا دن تھا۔

And the children of Israel, the priests, and the Levites, and the rest of the children of the captivity, kept the dedication of this house of God with joy,

اسرائیلیوں نے اماموں، لاویوں اور جلاوطنی سے واپس آئے ہوئے اسرائیلیوں سمیت بڑی خوشی سے رب کے گھر کی مخصوصیت کی عید منائی۔

And offered at the dedication of this house of God an hundred bullocks, two hundred rams, four hundred lambs; and for a sin offering for all Israel, twelve he goats, according to the number of the tribes of Israel.

اُنہوں نے 100 بَیل، 200 مینڈھے اور بھیڑ کے 400 بچے قربان کئے۔ پورے اسرائیل کے لئے گناہ کی قربانی بھی پیش کی گئی، اور اِس کے لئے فی قبیلہ ایک بکرا یعنی مل کر 12 بکرے چڑھائے گئے۔

And they set the priests in their divisions, and the Levites in their courses, for the service of God, which is at Jerusalem; as it is written in the book of Moses.

پھر اماموں اور لاویوں کو رب کے گھر کی خدمت کے مختلف گروہوں میں تقسیم کیا گیا، جس طرح موسیٰ کی شریعت ہدایت دیتی ہے۔

And the children of the captivity kept the passover upon the fourteenth day of the first month.

پہلے مہینے کے 14ویں دن جلاوطنی سے واپس آئے ہوئے اسرائیلیوں نے فسح کی عید منائی۔

For the priests and the Levites were purified together, all of them were pure, and killed the passover for all the children of the captivity, and for their brethren the priests, and for themselves.

تمام اماموں اور لاویوں نے اپنے آپ کو پاک صاف کر رکھا تھا۔ سب کے سب پاک تھے۔ لاویوں نے فسح کے لیلے جلاوطنی سے واپس آئے ہوئے اسرائیلیوں، اُن کے بھائیوں یعنی اماموں اور اپنے لئے ذبح کئے۔

And the children of Israel, which were come again out of captivity, and all such as had separated themselves unto them from the filthiness of the heathen of the land, to seek the LORD God of Israel, did eat,

لیکن نہ صرف جلاوطنی سے واپس آئے ہوئے اسرائیلی اِس کھانے میں شریک ہوئے بلکہ ملک کے وہ تمام لوگ بھی جو غیریہودی قوموں کی ناپاک راہوں سے الگ ہو کر اُن کے ساتھ رب اسرائیل کے خدا کے طالب ہوئے تھے۔

And kept the feast of unleavened bread seven days with joy: for the LORD had made them joyful, and turned the heart of the king of Assyria unto them, to strengthen their hands in the work of the house of God, the God of Israel.

اُنہوں نے سات دن بڑی خوشی سے بےخمیری روٹی کی عید منائی۔ رب نے اُن کے دلوں کو خوشی سے بھر دیا تھا، کیونکہ اُس نے فارس کے بادشاہ کا دل اُن کی طرف مائل کر دیا تھا تاکہ اُنہیں اسرائیل کے خدا کے گھر کو تعمیر کرنے میں مدد ملے۔
