Acts 20

And after the uproar was ceased, Paul called unto him the disciples, and embraced them, and departed for to go into Macedonia.

جب شہر میں افرا تفری ختم ہوئی تو پولس نے شاگردوں کو بُلا کر اُن کی حوصلہ افزائی کی۔ پھر وہ اُنہیں خیرباد کہہ کر مکدُنیہ کے لئے روانہ ہوا۔

And when he had gone over those parts, and had given them much exhortation, he came into Greece,

وہاں پہنچ کر اُس نے جگہ بہ جگہ جا کر بہت سی باتوں سے ایمان داروں کی حوصلہ افزائی کی۔ یوں چلتے چلتے وہ یونان پہنچ گیا

And there abode three months. And when the Jews laid wait for him, as he was about to sail into Syria, he purposed to return through Macedonia.

جہاں وہ تین ماہ تک ٹھہرا۔ وہ ملکِ شام کے لئے جہاز پر سوار ہونے والا تھا کہ پتا چلا کہ یہودیوں نے اُس کے خلاف سازش کی ہے۔ اِس پر اُس نے مکدُنیہ سے ہو کر واپس جانے کا فیصلہ کیا۔

And there accompanied him into Asia Sopater of Berea; and of the Thessalonians, Aristarchus and Secundus; and Gaius of Derbe, and Timotheus; and of Asia, Tychicus and Trophimus.

اُس کے کئی ہم سفر تھے: بیریہ سے پُرس کا بیٹا سوپترس، تھسلُنیکے سے ارسترخس اور سکندس، دربے سے گیُس، تیمُتھیُس اور صوبہ آسیہ سے تُخِکُس اور ترفمس۔

These going before tarried for us at Troas.

یہ آدمی آگے نکل کر تروآس چلے گئے جہاں اُنہوں نے ہمارا انتظار کیا۔

And we sailed away from Philippi after the days of unleavened bread, and came unto them to Troas in five days; where we abode seven days.

بےخمیری روٹی کی عید کے بعد ہم فلپی کے قریب جہاز پر سوار ہوئے اور پانچ دن کے بعد اُن کے پاس تروآس پہنچ گئے۔ وہاں ہم سات دن رہے۔

And upon the first day of the week, when the disciples came together to break bread, Paul preached unto them, ready to depart on the morrow; and continued his speech until midnight.

اتوار کو ہم عشائے ربانی منانے کے لئے جمع ہوئے۔ پولس لوگوں سے بات کرنے لگا اور چونکہ وہ اگلے دن روانہ ہونے والا تھا اِس لئے وہ آدھی رات تک بولتا رہا۔

And there were many lights in the upper chamber, where they were gathered together.

اوپر کی منزل میں جس کمرے میں ہم جمع تھے وہاں بہت سے چراغ جل رہے تھے۔

And there sat in a window a certain young man named Eutychus, being fallen into a deep sleep: and as Paul was long preaching, he sunk down with sleep, and fell down from the third loft, and was taken up dead.

ایک جوان کھڑکی کی دہلیز پر بیٹھا تھا۔ اُس کا نام یوتخس تھا۔ جوں جوں پولس کی باتیں لمبی ہوتی جا رہی تھیں اُس پر نیند غالب آتی جا رہی تھی۔ آخرکار وہ گہری نیند میں تیسری منزل سے زمین پر گر گیا۔ جب لوگوں نے نیچے پہنچ کر اُسے زمین پر سے اُٹھایا تو وہ جاں بحق ہو چکا تھا۔

And Paul went down, and fell on him, and embracing him said, Trouble not yourselves; for his life is in him.

لیکن پولس اُتر کر اُس پر جھک گیا اور اُسے اپنے بازوؤں میں لے لیا۔ اُس نے کہا، ”مت گھبرائیں، وہ زندہ ہے۔“

When he therefore was come up again, and had broken bread, and eaten, and talked a long while, even till break of day, so he departed.

پھر وہ واپس اوپر آ گیا، عشائے ربانی منائی اور کھانا کھایا۔ اُس نے اپنی باتیں پَو پھٹنے تک جاری رکھیں، پھر روانہ ہوا۔

And they brought the young man alive, and were not a little comforted.

اور اُنہوں نے جوان کو زندہ حالت میں وہاں سے لے کر بہت تسلی پائی۔

And we went before to ship, and sailed unto Assos, there intending to take in Paul: for so had he appointed, minding himself to go afoot.

ہم آگے نکل کر اسُّس کے لئے جہاز پر سوار ہوئے۔ خود پولس نے انتظام کروایا تھا کہ وہ پیدل جا کر اسُّس میں ہمارے جہاز پر آئے گا۔

And when he met with us at Assos, we took him in, and came to Mitylene.

وہاں وہ ہم سے ملا اور ہم اُسے جہاز پر لا کر متلینے پہنچے۔

And we sailed thence, and came the next day over against Chios; and the next day we arrived at Samos, and tarried at Trogyllium; and the next day we came to Miletus.

اگلے دن ہم خیُس کے جزیرے سے گزرے۔ اُس سے اگلے دن ہم سامس کے جزیرے کے قریب آئے۔ اِس کے بعد کے دن ہم میلیتس پہنچ گئے۔

For Paul had determined to sail by Ephesus, because he would not spend the time in Asia: for he hasted, if it were possible for him, to be at Jerusalem the day of Pentecost.

پولس پہلے سے فیصلہ کر چکا تھا کہ مَیں اِفسس میں نہیں ٹھہروں گا بلکہ آگے نکلوں گا، کیونکہ وہ جلدی میں تھا۔ وہ جہاں تک ممکن تھا پنتکُست کی عید سے پہلے پہلے یروشلم پہنچنا چاہتا تھا۔

And from Miletus he sent to Ephesus, and called the elders of the church.

میلیتس سے پولس نے اِفسس کی جماعت کے بزرگوں کو بُلا لیا۔

And when they were come to him, he said unto them, Ye know, from the first day that I came into Asia, after what manner I have been with you at all seasons,

جب وہ پہنچے تو اُس نے اُن سے کہا، ”آپ جانتے ہیں کہ مَیں صوبہ آسیہ میں پہلا قدم اُٹھانے سے لے کر پورا وقت آپ کے ساتھ کس طرح رہا۔

Serving the Lord with all humility of mind, and with many tears, and temptations, which befell me by the lying in wait of the Jews:

مَیں نے بڑی انکساری سے خداوند کی خدمت کی ہے۔ مجھے بہت آنسو بہانے پڑے اور یہودیوں کی سازشوں سے مجھ پر بہت آزمائشیں آئیں۔

And how I kept back nothing that was profitable unto you, but have shewed you, and have taught you publickly, and from house to house,

مَیں نے آپ کے فائدے کی کوئی بھی بات آپ سے چھپائے نہ رکھی بلکہ آپ کو علانیہ اور گھر گھر جا کر تعلیم دیتا رہا۔

Testifying both to the Jews, and also to the Greeks, repentance toward God, and faith toward our Lord Jesus Christ.

مَیں نے یہودیوں کو یونانیوں سمیت گواہی دی کہ اُنہیں توبہ کر کے اللہ کی طرف رجوع کرنے اور ہمارے خداوند عیسیٰ پر ایمان لانے کی ضرورت ہے۔

And now, behold, I go bound in the spirit unto Jerusalem, not knowing the things that shall befall me there:

اور اب مَیں روح القدس سے بندھا ہوا یروشلم جا رہا ہوں۔ مَیں نہیں جانتا کہ میرے ساتھ کیا کچھ ہو گا،

Save that the Holy Ghost witnesseth in every city, saying that bonds and afflictions abide me.

لیکن اِتنا مجھے معلوم ہے کہ روح القدس مجھے شہر بہ شہر اِس بات سے آگاہ کر رہا ہے کہ مجھے قید اور مصیبتوں کا سامنا کرنا پڑے گا۔

But none of these things move me, neither count I my life dear unto myself, so that I might finish my course with joy, and the ministry, which I have received of the Lord Jesus, to testify the gospel of the grace of God.

خیر، مَیں اپنی زندگی کو کسی طرح بھی اہم نہیں سمجھتا۔ اہم بات صرف یہ ہے کہ مَیں اپنا وہ مشن اور ذمہ داری پوری کروں جو خداوند عیسیٰ نے میرے سپرد کی ہے۔ اور وہ ذمہ داری یہ ہے کہ مَیں لوگوں کو گواہی دے کر یہ خوش خبری سناؤں کہ اللہ نے اپنے فضل سے اُن کے لئے کیا کچھ کیا ہے۔

And now, behold, I know that ye all, among whom I have gone preaching the kingdom of God, shall see my face no more.

اور اب مَیں جانتا ہوں کہ آپ سب جنہیں مَیں نے اللہ کی بادشاہی کا پیغام سنا دیا ہے مجھے اِس کے بعد کبھی نہیں دیکھیں گے۔

Wherefore I take you to record this day, that I am pure from the blood of all men.

اِس لئے مَیں آج ہی آپ کو بتاتا ہوں کہ اگر آپ میں سے کوئی بھی ہلاک ہو جائے تو مَیں بےقصور ہوں،

For I have not shunned to declare unto you all the counsel of God.

کیونکہ مَیں آپ کو اللہ کی پوری مرضی بتانے سے نہ جھجکا۔

Take heed therefore unto yourselves, and to all the flock, over the which the Holy Ghost hath made you overseers, to feed the church of God, which he hath purchased with his own blood.

چنانچہ خبردار رہ کر اپنا اور اُس پورے گلے کا خیال رکھنا جس پر روح القدس نے آپ کو مقرر کیا ہے۔ نگرانوں اور چرواہوں کی حیثیت سے اللہ کی جماعت کی خدمت کریں، اُس جماعت کی جسے اُس نے اپنے ہی فرزند کے خون سے حاصل کیا ہے۔

For I know this, that after my departing shall grievous wolves enter in among you, not sparing the flock.

مجھے معلوم ہے کہ میرے جانے کے بعد وحشی بھیڑیے آپ میں گھس آئیں گے جو گلے کو نہیں چھوڑیں گے۔

Also of your own selves shall men arise, speaking perverse things, to draw away disciples after them.

آپ کے درمیان سے بھی آدمی اُٹھ کر سچائی کو توڑ مروڑ کر بیان کریں گے تاکہ شاگردوں کو اپنے پیچھے لگا لیں۔

Therefore watch, and remember, that by the space of three years I ceased not to warn every one night and day with tears.

اِس لئے جاگتے رہیں! یہ بات ذہن میں رکھیں کہ مَیں تین سال کے دوران دن رات ہر ایک کو سمجھانے سے باز نہ آیا۔ میرے آنسوؤں کو یاد رکھیں جو مَیں نے آپ کے لئے بہائے ہیں۔

And now, brethren, I commend you to God, and to the word of his grace, which is able to build you up, and to give you an inheritance among all them which are sanctified.

اور اب مَیں آپ کو اللہ اور اُس کے فضل کے کلام کے سپرد کرتا ہوں۔ یہی کلام آپ کی تعمیر کر کے آپ کو وہ میراث مہیا کرنے کے قابل ہے جو اللہ تمام مُقدّس کئے گئے لوگوں کو دیتا ہے۔

I have coveted no man's silver, or gold, or apparel.

مَیں نے کسی کے بھی سونے، چاندی یا کپڑوں کا لالچ نہ کیا۔

Yea, ye yourselves know, that these hands have ministered unto my necessities, and to them that were with me.

آپ خود جانتے ہیں کہ مَیں نے اپنے اِن ہاتھوں سے کام کر کے نہ صرف اپنی بلکہ اپنے ساتھیوں کی ضروریات بھی پوری کیں۔

I have shewed you all things, how that so labouring ye ought to support the weak, and to remember the words of the Lord Jesus, how he said, It is more blessed to give than to receive.

اپنے ہر کام میں مَیں آپ کو دکھاتا رہا کہ لازم ہے کہ ہم اِس قسم کی محنت کر کے کمزوروں کی مدد کریں۔ کیونکہ ہمارے سامنے خداوند عیسیٰ کے یہ الفاظ ہونے چاہئیں کہ دینا لینے سے مبارک ہے۔“

And when he had thus spoken, he kneeled down, and prayed with them all.

یہ سب کچھ کہہ کر پولس نے گھٹنے ٹیک کر اُن سب کے ساتھ دعا کی۔

And they all wept sore, and fell on Paul's neck, and kissed him,

سب خوب روئے اور اُس کو گلے لگا لگا کر بوسے دیئے۔

Sorrowing most of all for the words which he spake, that they should see his face no more. And they accompanied him unto the ship.

اُنہیں خاص کر پولس کی اِس بات سے تکلیف ہوئی کہ ’آپ اِس کے بعد مجھے کبھی نہیں دیکھیں گے۔‘ پھر وہ اُس کے ساتھ جہاز تک گئے۔
