II Chronicles 29

Hezekiah began to reign when he was five and twenty years old, and he reigned nine and twenty years in Jerusalem. And his mother's name was Abijah, the daughter of Zechariah.

جب حِزقیاہ بادشاہ بنا تو اُس کی عمر 25 سال تھی۔ یروشلم میں رہ کر وہ 29 سال حکومت کرتا رہا۔ اُس کی ماں ابیاہ بنت زکریاہ تھی۔

And he did that which was right in the sight of the LORD, according to all that David his father had done.

اپنے باپ داؤد کی طرح اُس نے ایسا کام کیا جو رب کو پسند تھا۔

He in the first year of his reign, in the first month, opened the doors of the house of the LORD, and repaired them.

اپنی حکومت کے پہلے سال کے پہلے مہینے میں اُس نے رب کے گھر کے دروازوں کو کھول کر اُن کی مرمت کروائی۔

And he brought in the priests and the Levites, and gathered them together into the east street,

لاویوں اور اماموں کو بُلا کر اُس نے اُنہیں رب کے گھر کے مشرقی صحن میں جمع کیا

And said unto them, Hear me, ye Levites, sanctify now yourselves, and sanctify the house of the LORD God of your fathers, and carry forth the filthiness out of the holy place.

اور کہا، ”اے لاویو، میری بات سنیں! اپنے آپ کو خدمت کے لئے مخصوص و مُقدّس کریں، اور رب اپنے باپ دادا کے خدا کے گھر کو بھی مخصوص و مُقدّس کریں۔ تمام ناپاک چیزیں مقدِس سے نکالیں!

For our fathers have trespassed, and done that which was evil in the eyes of the LORD our God, and have forsaken him, and have turned away their faces from the habitation of the LORD, and turned their backs.

ہمارے باپ دادا بےوفا ہو کر وہ کچھ کرتے گئے جو رب ہمارے خدا کو ناپسند تھا۔ اُنہوں نے اُسے چھوڑ دیا، اپنے منہ کو رب کی سکونت گاہ سے پھیر کر دوسری طرف چل پڑے۔

Also they have shut up the doors of the porch, and put out the lamps, and have not burned incense nor offered burnt offerings in the holy place unto the God of Israel.

رب کے گھر کے سامنے والے برآمدے کے دروازوں پر اُنہوں نے تالا لگا کر چراغوں کو بجھا دیا۔ نہ اسرائیل کے خدا کے لئے بخور جلایا جاتا، نہ بھسم ہونے والی قربانیاں مقدِس میں پیش کی جاتی تھیں۔

Wherefore the wrath of the LORD was upon Judah and Jerusalem, and he hath delivered them to trouble, to astonishment, and to hissing, as ye see with your eyes.

اِسی وجہ سے رب کا غضب یہوداہ اور یروشلم پر نازل ہوا ہے۔ ہماری حالت کو دیکھ کر لوگ گھبرا گئے، اُن کے رونگٹے کھڑے ہو گئے ہیں۔ ہم دوسروں کے لئے مذاق کا نشانہ بن گئے ہیں۔ آپ خود اِس کے گواہ ہیں۔

For, lo, our fathers have fallen by the sword, and our sons and our daughters and our wives are in captivity for this.

ہماری بےوفائی کی وجہ سے ہمارے باپ تلوار کی زد میں آ کر مارے گئے اور ہمارے بیٹے بیٹیاں اور بیویاں ہم سے چھین لی گئی ہیں۔

Now it is in mine heart to make a covenant with the LORD God of Israel, that his fierce wrath may turn away from us.

لیکن اب مَیں رب اسرائیل کے خدا کے ساتھ عہد باندھنا چاہتا ہوں تاکہ اُس کا سخت قہر ہم سے ٹل جائے۔

My sons, be not now negligent: for the LORD hath chosen you to stand before him, to serve him, and that ye should minister unto him, and burn incense.

میرے بیٹو، اب سُستی نہ دکھائیں، کیونکہ رب نے آپ کو چن کر اپنے خادم بنایا ہے۔ آپ کو اُس کے حضور کھڑے ہو کر اُس کی خدمت کرنے اور بخور جلانے کی ذمہ داری دی گئی ہے۔“

Then the Levites arose, Mahath the son of Amasai, and Joel the son of Azariah, of the sons of the Kohathites: and of the sons of Merari, Kish the son of Abdi, and Azariah the son of Jehalelel: and of the Gershonites; Joah the son of Zimmah, and Eden the son of Joah:

پھر ذیل کے لاوی خدمت کے لئے تیار ہوئے: قِہات کے خاندان کا محت بن عماسی اور یوایل بن عزریاہ، مِراری کے خاندان کا قیس بن عبدی اور عزریاہ بن یہلّل ایل، جَیرسون کے خاندان کا یوآخ بن زِمّہ اور عدن بن یوآخ،

And of the sons of Elizaphan; Shimri, and Jeiel: and of the sons of Asaph; Zechariah, and Mattaniah:

اِلی صفن کے خاندان کا سِمری اور یعی ایل، آسف کے خاندان کا زکریاہ اور متنیاہ،

And of the sons of Heman; Jehiel, and Shimei: and of the sons of Jeduthun; Shemaiah, and Uzziel.

ہیمان کے خاندان کا یحی ایل اور سِمعی، یدوتون کے خاندان کا سمعیاہ اور عُزی ایل۔

And they gathered their brethren, and sanctified themselves, and came, according to the commandment of the king, by the words of the LORD, to cleanse the house of the LORD.

باقی لاویوں کو بُلا کر اُنہوں نے اپنے آپ کو رب کی خدمت کے لئے مخصوص و مُقدّس کیا۔ پھر وہ بادشاہ کے حکم کے مطابق رب کے گھر کو پاک صاف کرنے لگے۔ کام کرتے کرتے اُنہوں نے اِس کا خیال کیا کہ سب کچھ رب کی ہدایات کے مطابق ہو رہا ہو۔

And the priests went into the inner part of the house of the LORD, to cleanse it, and brought out all the uncleanness that they found in the temple of the LORD into the court of the house of the LORD. And the Levites took it, to carry it out abroad into the brook Kidron.

امام رب کے گھر میں داخل ہوئے اور اُس میں سے ہر ناپاک چیز نکال کر اُسے صحن میں لائے۔ وہاں سے لاویوں نے سب کچھ اُٹھا کر شہر سے باہر وادیِ قدرون میں پھینک دیا۔

Now they began on the first day of the first month to sanctify, and on the eighth day of the month came they to the porch of the LORD: so they sanctified the house of the LORD in eight days; and in the sixteenth day of the first month they made an end.

رب کے گھر کی قدوسیت بحال کرنے کا کام پہلے مہینے کے پہلے دن شروع ہوا، اور ایک ہفتے کے بعد وہ سامنے والے برآمدے تک پہنچ گئے تھے۔ ایک اَور ہفتہ پورے گھر کو مخصوص و مُقدّس کرنے میں صرف ہوا۔ پہلے مہینے کے 16ویں دن کام مکمل ہوا۔

Then they went in to Hezekiah the king, and said, We have cleansed all the house of the LORD, and the altar of burnt offering, with all the vessels thereof, and the shewbread table, with all the vessels thereof.

حِزقیاہ بادشاہ کے پاس جا کر اُنہوں نے کہا، ”ہم نے رب کے پورے گھر کو پاک صاف کر دیا ہے۔ اِس میں جانوروں کو جلانے کی قربان گاہ اُس کے سامان سمیت اور وہ میز جس پر رب کے لئے مخصوص روٹیاں رکھی جاتی ہیں اُس کے سامان سمیت شامل ہے۔

Moreover all the vessels, which king Ahaz in his reign did cast away in his transgression, have we prepared and sanctified, and, behold, they are before the altar of the LORD.

اور جتنی چیزیں آخز نے بےوفا بن کر اپنی حکومت کے دوران رد کر دی تھیں اُن سب کو ہم نے ٹھیک کر کے دوبارہ مخصوص و مُقدّس کر دیا ہے۔ اب وہ رب کی قربان گاہ کے سامنے پڑی ہیں۔“

Then Hezekiah the king rose early, and gathered the rulers of the city, and went up to the house of the LORD.

اگلے دن حِزقیاہ بادشاہ صبح سویرے شہر کے تمام بزرگوں کو بُلا کر اُن کے ساتھ رب کے گھر کے پاس گیا۔

And they brought seven bullocks, and seven rams, and seven lambs, and seven he goats, for a sin offering for the kingdom, and for the sanctuary, and for Judah. And he commanded the priests the sons of Aaron to offer them on the altar of the LORD.

سات جوان بَیل، سات مینڈھے اور بھیڑ کے سات بچے بھسم ہونے والی قربانی کے لئے صحن میں لائے گئے، نیز سات بکرے جنہیں گناہ کی قربانی کے طور پر شاہی خاندان، مقدِس اور یہوداہ کے لئے پیش کرنا تھا۔ حِزقیاہ نے ہارون کی اولاد یعنی اماموں کو حکم دیا کہ اِن جانوروں کو رب کی قربان گاہ پر چڑھائیں۔

So they killed the bullocks, and the priests received the blood, and sprinkled it on the altar: likewise, when they had killed the rams, they sprinkled the blood upon the altar: they killed also the lambs, and they sprinkled the blood upon the altar.

پہلے بَیلوں کو ذبح کیا گیا۔ اماموں نے اُن کا خون جمع کر کے اُسے قربان گاہ پر چھڑکا۔ اِس کے بعد مینڈھوں کو ذبح کیا گیا۔ اِس بار بھی اماموں نے اُن کا خون قربان گاہ پر چھڑکا۔ بھیڑ کے بچوں کے خون کے ساتھ بھی یہی کچھ کیا گیا۔

And they brought forth the he goats for the sin offering before the king and the congregation; and they laid their hands upon them:

آخر میں گناہ کی قربانی کے لئے مخصوص بکروں کو بادشاہ اور جماعت کے سامنے لایا گیا، اور اُنہوں نے اپنے ہاتھوں کو بکروں کے سروں پر رکھ دیا۔

And the priests killed them, and they made reconciliation with their blood upon the altar, to make an atonement for all Israel: for the king commanded that the burnt offering and the sin offering should be made for all Israel.

پھر اماموں نے اُنہیں ذبح کر کے اُن کا خون گناہ کی قربانی کے طور پر قربان گاہ پر چھڑکا تاکہ اسرائیل کا کفارہ دیا جائے۔ کیونکہ بادشاہ نے حکم دیا تھا کہ بھسم ہونے والی اور گناہ کی قربانی تمام اسرائیل کے لئے پیش کی جائے۔

And he set the Levites in the house of the LORD with cymbals, with psalteries, and with harps, according to the commandment of David, and of Gad the king's seer, and Nathan the prophet: for so was the commandment of the LORD by his prophets.

حِزقیاہ نے لاویوں کو جھانجھ، ستار اور سرود تھما کر اُنہیں رب کے گھر میں کھڑا کیا۔ سب کچھ اُن ہدایات کے مطابق ہوا جو رب نے داؤد بادشاہ، اُس کے غیب بین جاد اور ناتن نبی کی معرفت دی تھیں۔

And the Levites stood with the instruments of David, and the priests with the trumpets.

لاوی اُن سازوں کے ساتھ کھڑے ہو گئے جو داؤد نے بنوائے تھے، اور امام اپنے تُرموں کو تھامے اُن کے ساتھ کھڑے ہوئے۔

And Hezekiah commanded to offer the burnt offering upon the altar. And when the burnt offering began, the song of the LORD began also with the trumpets, and with the instruments ordained by David king of Israel.

پھر حِزقیاہ نے حکم دیا کہ بھسم ہونے والی قربانی قربان گاہ پر پیش کی جائے۔ جب امام یہ کام کرنے لگے تو لاوی رب کی تعریف میں گیت گانے لگے۔ ساتھ ساتھ تُرم اور داؤد بادشاہ کے بنوائے ہوئے ساز بجنے لگے۔

And all the congregation worshipped, and the singers sang, and the trumpeters sounded: and all this continued until the burnt offering was finished.

تمام جماعت اوندھے منہ جھک گئی جبکہ لاوی گیت گاتے اور امام تُرم بجاتے رہے۔ یہ سلسلہ اِس قربانی کی تکمیل تک جاری رہا۔

And when they had made an end of offering, the king and all that were present with him bowed themselves, and worshipped.

اِس کے بعد حِزقیاہ اور تمام حاضرین دوبارہ منہ کے بل جھک گئے۔

Moreover Hezekiah the king and the princes commanded the Levites to sing praise unto the LORD with the words of David, and of Asaph the seer. And they sang praises with gladness, and they bowed their heads and worshipped.

بادشاہ اور بزرگوں نے لاویوں کو کہا، ”داؤد اور آسف غیب بین کے زبور گا کر رب کی ستائش کریں۔“ چنانچہ لاویوں نے بڑی خوشی سے حمد و ثنا کے گیت گائے۔ وہ بھی اوندھے منہ جھک گئے۔

Then Hezekiah answered and said, Now ye have consecrated yourselves unto the LORD, come near and bring sacrifices and thank offerings into the house of the LORD. And the congregation brought in sacrifices and thank offerings; and as many as were of a free heart burnt offerings.

پھر حِزقیاہ لوگوں سے مخاطب ہوا، ”آج آپ نے اپنے آپ کو رب کے لئے وقف کر دیا ہے۔ اب وہ کچھ رب کے گھر کے پاس لے آئیں جو آپ ذبح اور سلامتی کی قربانی کے طور پر پیش کرنا چاہتے ہیں۔“ تب لوگ ذبح اور سلامتی کی اپنی قربانیاں لے آئے۔ نیز، جس کا بھی دل چاہتا تھا وہ بھسم ہونے والی قربانیاں لایا۔

And the number of the burnt offerings, which the congregation brought, was threescore and ten bullocks, an hundred rams, and two hundred lambs: all these were for a burnt offering to the LORD.

اِس طرح بھسم ہونے والی قربانی کے لئے 70 بَیل، 100 مینڈھے اور بھیڑ کے 200 بچے جمع کر کے رب کو پیش کئے گئے۔

And the consecrated things were six hundred oxen and three thousand sheep.

اُن کے علاوہ 600 بَیل اور 3,000 بھیڑبکریاں رب کے گھر کے لئے مخصوص کی گئیں۔

But the priests were too few, so that they could not flay all the burnt offerings: wherefore their brethren the Levites did help them, till the work was ended, and until the other priests had sanctified themselves: for the Levites were more upright in heart to sanctify themselves than the priests.

لیکن اِتنے جانوروں کی کھالوں کو اُتارنے کے لئے امام کم تھے، اِس لئے لاویوں کو اُن کی مدد کرنی پڑی۔ اِس کام کے اختتام تک بلکہ جب تک مزید امام خدمت کے لئے تیار اور پاک نہیں ہو گئے تھے لاوی مدد کرتے رہے۔ اماموں کی نسبت زیادہ لاوی پاک صاف ہو گئے تھے، کیونکہ اُنہوں نے زیادہ لگن سے اپنے آپ کو رب کے لئے مخصوص و مُقدّس کیا تھا۔

And also the burnt offerings were in abundance, with the fat of the peace offerings, and the drink offerings for every burnt offering. So the service of the house of the LORD was set in order.

بھسم ہونے والی بےشمار قربانیوں کے علاوہ اماموں نے سلامتی کی قربانیوں کی چربی بھی جلائی۔ ساتھ ساتھ اُنہوں نے مَے کی نذریں پیش کیں۔ یوں رب کے گھر میں خدمت کا نئے سرے سے آغاز ہوا۔

And Hezekiah rejoiced, and all the people, that God had prepared the people: for the thing was done suddenly.

حِزقیاہ اور پوری قوم نے خوشی منائی کہ اللہ نے یہ سب کچھ اِتنی جلدی سے ہمیں مہیا کیا ہے۔
