Habakkuk 3

A prayer of Habakkuk the prophet upon Shigionoth.

En bön av profeten Habackuk; till Sigjonót.

O LORD, I have heard thy speech, and was afraid: O LORD, revive thy work in the midst of the years, in the midst of the years make known; in wrath remember mercy.

 HERRE, jag har hört om dig och häpnat.  HERRE, förnya i dessa år dina gärningar,  låt oss förnimma dem i dessa år.  Mitt i din vrede må du tänka på förbarmande.

God came from Teman, and the Holy One from mount Paran. Selah. His glory covered the heavens, and the earth was full of his praise.

 Gud kommer från Teman,  den helige från berget Paran.  Sela.  Hans majestät övertäcker himmelen,  och av hans lov är jorden full.2 Mos. 19,16 f. 5 Mos. 33,2. Dom. 5,4.

And his brightness was as the light; he had horns coming out of his hand: and there was the hiding of his power.

 Då uppstår en glans såsom av solljus,  strålar gå ut ifrån honom,  och han höljer i dem sin makt.2 Mos. 24,17.

Before him went the pestilence, and burning coals went forth at his feet.

 Framför honom går pest,  och feberglöd följer i hans spår.2 Mos. 9,3. 12,29.

He stood, and measured the earth: he beheld, and drove asunder the nations; and the everlasting mountains were scattered, the perpetual hills did bow: his ways are everlasting.

 Han träder fram -- därmed kommer han jorden att darra;  en blick -- och han kommer folken att bäva.  De uråldriga bergen splittras,  de eviga höjderna sjunka ned.  Han vandrar de vägar han fordom gick.Ps. 68,8 f.

I saw the tents of Cushan in affliction: and the curtains of the land of Midian did tremble.

 Jag ser Kusans hyddor hemsökta av fördärv;  tälten darra i Midjans land.

Was the LORD displeased against the rivers? was thine anger against the rivers? was thy wrath against the sea, that thou didst ride upon thine horses and thy chariots of salvation?

 Harmas då HERREN på strömmar?  Ja, är din vrede upptänd mot strömmarna  eller din förgrymmelse mot havet,  eftersom du så färdas fram med dina hästar,  med dina segerrika vagnar?2 Mos. 14,26 f. 15,3 f.

Thy bow was made quite naked, according to the oaths of the tribes, even thy word. Selah. Thou didst cleave the earth with rivers.

 Framtagen och blottad är din båge,  ditt besvurna ords pilar.  Sela.5 Mos. 32,41 f.  Till strömfåror klyver du jorden.

The mountains saw thee, and they trembled: the overflowing of the water passed by: the deep uttered his voice, and lifted up his hands on high.

 Bergen se dig och bäva;  såsom en störtskur far vattnet ned.  Djupet låter höra sin röst,  mot höjden lyfter det sina händer.Ps. 77,19.

The sun and moon stood still in their habitation: at the light of thine arrows they went, and at the shining of thy glittering spear.

 Sol och måne stanna i sin boning  för skenet av dina farande pilar,  för glansen av ditt blixtrande spjut.Jos. 10,12 f.

Thou didst march through the land in indignation, thou didst thresh the heathen in anger.

 I förgrymmelse går du fram över jorden,  i vrede tröskar du sönder folken.

Thou wentest forth for the salvation of thy people, even for salvation with thine anointed; thou woundedst the head out of the house of the wicked, by discovering the foundation unto the neck. Selah.

 Du drager ut för att frälsa ditt folk,  för att bereda frälsning åt din smorde.  Du krossar taket på de ogudaktigas hus,  du bryter ned huset, från grunden till tinnarna.  Sela.

Thou didst strike through with his staves the head of his villages: they came out as a whirlwind to scatter me: their rejoicing was as to devour the poor secretly.

 Du genomborrar deras styresmans huvud med hans egna pilar,  när de storma fram till att förskingra oss, under fröjd,  såsom gällde det att i lönndom äta upp en betryckt.

Thou didst walk through the sea with thine horses, through the heap of great waters.

 Du far med dina hästar fram över havet,  över de stora vattnens svall.Ps. 77,20.

When I heard, my belly trembled; my lips quivered at the voice: rottenness entered into my bones, and I trembled in myself, that I might rest in the day of trouble: when he cometh up unto the people, he will invade them with his troops.

 Jag hör det och darrar i mitt innersta,  vid dånet skälva mina läppar;  maktlöshet griper benen i min kropp,  jag darrar på platsen där jag står.  Ty jag måste ju stilla uthärda nödens tid,  medan det kommer, som skall tränga folket.

Although the fig tree shall not blossom, neither shall fruit be in the vines; the labour of the olive shall fail, and the fields shall yield no meat; the flock shall be cut off from the fold, and there shall be no herd in the stalls:

 Ja, fikonträdet blomstrar icke mer,  och vinträden giva ingen skörd,  olivträdets frukt slår fel  och fälten alstra ingen äring,  fåren ryckas bort ur fållorna,  och inga oxar finnas mer i stallen.

Yet I will rejoice in the LORD, I will joy in the God of my salvation.

 Likväl vill jag glädja mig i HERREN  och fröjda mig i min frälsnings Gud.Ps. 46,2 f.

The LORD God is my strength, and he will make my feet like hinds' feet, and he will make me to walk upon mine high places. To the chief singer on my stringed instruments.

 HERREN, Herren är min starkhet;  han gör mina fötter såsom hindens  och låter mig gå fram över mina höjder.  För sångmästaren, med mitt strängaspel.2 Sam. 22,34. Ps. 18,34.
