II Timothy 4

I charge thee therefore before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ, who shall judge the quick and the dead at his appearing and his kingdom;

Ich bezeuge ernstlich vor Gott und Christo Jesu, der da richten wird Lebendige und Tote, und bei seiner Erscheinung und seinem Reiche:

Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine.

Predige das Wort, halte darauf in gelegener und ungelegener Zeit; überführe, strafe, ermahne mit aller Langmut und Lehre.

For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears;

Denn es wird eine Zeit sein, da sie die gesunde Lehre nicht ertragen, sondern nach ihren eigenen Lüsten sich selbst Lehrer aufhäufen werden, indem es ihnen in den Ohren kitzelt;

And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.

und sie werden die Ohren von der Wahrheit abkehren und zu den Fabeln sich hinwenden.

But watch thou in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, make full proof of thy ministry.

Du aber sei nüchtern in allem, leide Trübsal, tue das Werk eines Evangelisten, vollführe deinen Dienst.

For I am now ready to be offered, and the time of my departure is at hand.

Denn ich werde schon als Trankopfer gesprengt, und die Zeit meines Abscheidens ist vorhanden.

I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith:

Ich habe den guten Kampf gekämpft, ich habe den Lauf vollendet, ich habe den Glauben bewahrt;

Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.

fortan liegt mir bereit die Krone der Gerechtigkeit, welche der Herr, der gerechte Richter, mir zur Vergeltung geben wird an jenem Tage; nicht allein aber mir, sondern auch allen, die seine Erscheinung lieben.

Do thy diligence to come shortly unto me:

Befleißige dich, bald zu mir zu kommen;

For Demas hath forsaken me, having loved this present world, and is departed unto Thessalonica; Crescens to Galatia, Titus unto Dalmatia.

denn Demas hat mich verlassen, da er den jetzigen Zeitlauf liebgewonnen hat, und ist nach Thessalonich gegangen, Krescenz nach Galatien, Titus nach Dalmatien.

Only Luke is with me. Take Mark, and bring him with thee: for he is profitable to me for the ministry.

Lukas ist allein bei mir. Nimm Markus und bringe ihn mit dir, denn er ist mir nützlich zum Dienst.

And Tychicus have I sent to Ephesus.

Tychikus aber habe ich nach Ephesus gesandt.

The cloke that I left at Troas with Carpus, when thou comest, bring with thee, and the books, but especially the parchments.

Den Mantel, den ich in Troas bei Karpus zurückließ, bringe mit, wenn du kommst, und die Bücher, besonders die Pergamente.

Alexander the coppersmith did me much evil: the Lord reward him according to his works:

Alexander, der Schmied, hat mir viel Böses erzeigt; der Herr wird ihm vergelten nach seinen Werken.

Of whom be thou ware also; for he hath greatly withstood our words.

Vor ihm hüte auch du dich, denn er hat unseren Worten sehr widerstanden.

At my first answer no man stood with me, but all men forsook me: I pray God that it may not be laid to their charge.

Bei meiner ersten Verantwortung stand mir niemand bei, sondern alle verließen mich; es werde ihnen nicht zugerechnet.

Notwithstanding the Lord stood with me, and strengthened me; that by me the preaching might be fully known, and that all the Gentiles might hear: and I was delivered out of the mouth of the lion.

Der Herr aber stand mir bei und stärkte mich, auf daß durch mich die Predigt vollbracht werde, und alle die aus den Nationen hören möchten; und ich bin gerettet worden aus dem Rachen des Löwen.

And the Lord shall deliver me from every evil work, and will preserve me unto his heavenly kingdom: to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen.

Der Herr wird mich retten von jedem bösen Werk und bewahren für sein himmlisches Reich, welchem die Herrlichkeit sei von Ewigkeit zu Ewigkeit! Amen.
