I Kings 11

But king Solomon loved many strange women, together with the daughter of Pharaoh, women of the Moabites, Ammonites, Edomites, Zidonians, and Hittites;

Und der König Salomo liebte viele fremde Weiber, und zwar neben der Tochter des Pharao: moabitische, ammonitische, edomitische, zidonische, hethitische,

Of the nations concerning which the LORD said unto the children of Israel, Ye shall not go in to them, neither shall they come in unto you: for surely they will turn away your heart after their gods: Solomon clave unto these in love.

von den Nationen, von welchen Jehova zu den Kindern Israel gesagt hatte: Ihr sollt nicht unter sie kommen, und sie sollen nicht unter euch kommen; gewiß, sie würden euer Herz neigen ihren Göttern nach! An diesen hing Salomo mit Liebe.

And he had seven hundred wives, princesses, and three hundred concubines: and his wives turned away his heart.

Und er hatte an Weibern siebenhundert Fürstinnen und dreihundert Kebsweiber; und seine Weiber neigten sein Herz.

For it came to pass, when Solomon was old, that his wives turned away his heart after other gods: and his heart was not perfect with the LORD his God, as was the heart of David his father.

Und es geschah zur Zeit, als Salomo alt war, da neigten seine Weiber sein Herz anderen Göttern nach; und sein Herz war nicht ungeteilt mit Jehova, seinem Gott, wie das Herz seines Vaters David.

For Solomon went after Ashtoreth the goddess of the Zidonians, and after Milcom the abomination of the Ammonites.

Und Salomo wandelte der Astoreth nach, der Gottheit der Zidonier, und dem Milkom, dem Greuel der Ammoniter.

And Solomon did evil in the sight of the LORD, and went not fully after the LORD, as did David his father.

Und Salomo tat, was böse war in den Augen Jehovas, und er folgte Jehova nicht völlig nach wie sein Vater David.

Then did Solomon build an high place for Chemosh, the abomination of Moab, in the hill that is before Jerusalem, and for Molech, the abomination of the children of Ammon.

Damals baute Salomo eine Höhe dem Kamos, dem Greuel der Moabiter, auf dem Berge, der vor Jerusalem liegt, und dem Molech, dem Greuel der Kinder Ammon.

And likewise did he for all his strange wives, which burnt incense and sacrificed unto their gods.

Und also tat er für alle seine fremden Weiber, die ihren Göttern räucherten und opferten.

And the LORD was angry with Solomon, because his heart was turned from the LORD God of Israel, which had appeared unto him twice,

Da erzürnte Jehova wider Salomo, weil er sein Herz von Jehova, dem Gott Israels, abgewandt hatte, der ihm zweimal erschienen war

And had commanded him concerning this thing, that he should not go after other gods: but he kept not that which the LORD commanded.

und ihm betreffs dieser Sache geboten hatte, nicht anderen Göttern nachzuwandeln; aber er beobachtete nicht, was Jehova geboten hatte.

Wherefore the LORD said unto Solomon, Forasmuch as this is done of thee, and thou hast not kept my covenant and my statutes, which I have commanded thee, I will surely rend the kingdom from thee, and will give it to thy servant.

Und Jehova sprach zu Salomo: Darum daß solches bei dir gewesen ist, und du meinen Bund nicht beobachtest hast und meine Satzungen, die ich dir geboten habe, so werde ich dir das Königreich gewißlich entreißen und es deinem Knechte geben.

Notwithstanding in thy days I will not do it for David thy father's sake: but I will rend it out of the hand of thy son.

Doch in deinen Tagen will ich es nicht tun, um deines Vaters David willen: aus der Hand deines Sohnes werde ich es reißen;

Howbeit I will not rend away all the kingdom; but will give one tribe to thy son for David my servant's sake, and for Jerusalem's sake which I have chosen.

nur will ich ihm nicht das ganze Königreich entreißen: einen Stamm will ich deinem Sohne geben, um meines Knechtes David willen und um Jerusalems willen, das ich erwählt habe.

And the LORD stirred up an adversary unto Solomon, Hadad the Edomite: he was of the king's seed in Edom.

Und Jehova erweckte Salomo einen Widersacher, Hadad, den Edomiter; er war vom königlichen Samen in Edom.

For it came to pass, when David was in Edom, and Joab the captain of the host was gone up to bury the slain, after he had smitten every male in Edom;

Es geschah nämlich, als David in Edom war, als Joab, der Heeroberste, hinaufzog, um die Erschlagenen zu begraben, und er alles Männliche in Edom erschlug

(For six months did Joab remain there with all Israel, until he had cut off every male in Edom:)

(denn Joab blieb sechs Monate daselbst mit ganz Israel, bis er alles Männliche in Edom ausgerottet hatte):

That Hadad fled, he and certain Edomites of his father's servants with him, to go into Egypt; Hadad being yet a little child.

da entfloh Hadad, er und edomitische Männer von den Knechten seines Vaters mit ihm, um sich nach Ägypten zu begeben; Hadad war aber ein kleiner Knabe.

And they arose out of Midian, and came to Paran: and they took men with them out of Paran, and they came to Egypt, unto Pharaoh king of Egypt; which gave him an house, and appointed him victuals, and gave him land.

Und sie machten sich auf aus Midian und kamen nach Paran; und sie nahmen Männer aus Paran mit sich und kamen nach Ägypten zu dem Pharao, dem König von Ägypten. Und er gab ihm ein Haus und wies ihm Speise an und gab ihm Land.

And Hadad found great favour in the sight of Pharaoh, so that he gave him to wife the sister of his own wife, the sister of Tahpenes the queen.

Und Hadad fand große Gnade in den Augen des Pharao, und er gab ihm die Schwester seines Weibes, die Schwester der Königin Thachpenes, zum Weibe.

And the sister of Tahpenes bare him Genubath his son, whom Tahpenes weaned in Pharaoh's house: and Genubath was in Pharaoh's household among the sons of Pharaoh.

Und die Schwester der Thachpenes gebar ihm Genubath, seinen Sohn; und Thachpenes pflegte ihn im Hause des Pharao; und so war Genubath im Hause des Pharao, unter den Söhnen des Pharao.

And when Hadad heard in Egypt that David slept with his fathers, and that Joab the captain of the host was dead, Hadad said to Pharaoh, Let me depart, that I may go to mine own country.

Und als Hadad in Ägypten hörte, daß David sich zu seinen Vätern gelegt hatte, und daß Joab, der Heeroberste, tot war, da sprach Hadad zu dem Pharao: Entlasse mich, daß ich in mein Land ziehe.

Then Pharaoh said unto him, But what hast thou lacked with me, that, behold, thou seekest to go to thine own country? And he answered, Nothing: howbeit let me go in any wise.

Und der Pharao sprach zu ihm: Was mangelt dir bei mir? Und siehe, du begehrst in dein Land zu ziehen? Und er sprach: Nichts; aber entlasse mich doch!

And God stirred him up another adversary, Rezon the son of Eliadah, which fled from his lord Hadadezer king of Zobah:

Und Gott erweckte ihm einen Widersacher, Reson, den Sohn Eljadas, der von Hadadeser, dem König von Zoba, seinem Herrn, geflohen war.

And he gathered men unto him, and became captain over a band, when David slew them of Zobah: and they went to Damascus, and dwelt therein, and reigned in Damascus.

Und er sammelte Männer um sich und wurde Oberster einer Schar, als David die Zobaiter tötete; und sie zogen nach Damaskus und wohnten darin, und sie regierten in Damaskus.

And he was an adversary to Israel all the days of Solomon, beside the mischief that Hadad did: and he abhorred Israel, and reigned over Syria.

Und er wurde ein Widersacher Israels, alle Tage Salomos, und zwar neben dem Übel, das Hadad tat; und er verabscheute Israel, und er wurde König über Syrien.

And Jeroboam the son of Nebat, an Ephrathite of Zereda, Solomon's servant, whose mother's name was Zeruah, a widow woman, even he lifted up his hand against the king.

Und Jerobeam, der Sohn Nebats, ein Ephratiter, von Zereda (und der Name seiner Mutter war Zerua, eine Witwe), ein Knecht Salomos, auch er erhob die Hand wider den König.

And this was the cause that he lifted up his hand against the king: Solomon built Millo, and repaired the breaches of the city of David his father.

Und dies war die Sache, warum er die Hand wider den König erhob: Salomo baute das Millo und schloß die Lücke der Stadt seines Vaters David.

And the man Jeroboam was a mighty man of valour: and Solomon seeing the young man that he was industrious, he made him ruler over all the charge of the house of Joseph.

Der Mann Jerobeam aber war ein wackerer Mann; und als Salomo den Jüngling sah, daß er arbeitsam war, bestellte er ihn über alle Lastarbeiter des Hauses Joseph.

And it came to pass at that time when Jeroboam went out of Jerusalem, that the prophet Ahijah the Shilonite found him in the way; and he had clad himself with a new garment; and they two were alone in the field:

Und es geschah zu selbiger Zeit, als Jerobeam einmal aus Jerusalem hinausging, da fand ihn der Prophet Achija, der Siloniter, auf dem Wege; und er hatte sich in ein neues Oberkleid gehüllt, und sie beide waren allein auf dem Felde.

And Ahijah caught the new garment that was on him, and rent it in twelve pieces:

Da faßte Achija das neue Oberkleid, das er anhatte, und zerriß es in zwölf Stücke;

And he said to Jeroboam, Take thee ten pieces: for thus saith the LORD, the God of Israel, Behold, I will rend the kingdom out of the hand of Solomon, and will give ten tribes to thee:

und er sprach zu Jerobeam: Nimm dir zehn Stücke; denn so spricht Jehova, der Gott Israels: Siehe, ich will das Königreich aus der Hand Salomos reißen und will dir zehn Stämme geben

(But he shall have one tribe for my servant David's sake, and for Jerusalem's sake, the city which I have chosen out of all the tribes of Israel:)

(aber einen Stamm soll er behalten um meines Knechtes David willen und um Jerusalems willen, der Stadt, die ich erwählt habe aus allen Stämmen Israels);

Because that they have forsaken me, and have worshipped Ashtoreth the goddess of the Zidonians, Chemosh the god of the Moabites, and Milcom the god of the children of Ammon, and have not walked in my ways, to do that which is right in mine eyes, and to keep my statutes and my judgments, as did David his father.

darum, daß sie mich verlassen und sich niedergebeugt haben vor Astoreth, der Gottheit der Zidonier, vor Kamos, dem Gott der Moabiter, und vor Milkom, dem Gott der Kinder Ammon, und nicht auf meinen Wegen gewandelt haben, zu tun, was recht ist in meinen Augen, und meine Satzungen und meine Rechte zu beobachten, wie sein Vater David.

Howbeit I will not take the whole kingdom out of his hand: but I will make him prince all the days of his life for David my servant's sake, whom I chose, because he kept my commandments and my statutes:

Doch will ich nicht das ganze Königreich aus seiner Hand nehmen, sondern will ihn zum Fürsten setzen alle Tage seines Lebens, um meines Knechtes David willen, den ich erwählt habe, der meine Gebote und meine Satzungen beobachtet hat.

But I will take the kingdom out of his son's hand, and will give it unto thee, even ten tribes.

Aber aus der Hand seines Sohnes will ich das Königreich nehmen und es dir geben, die zehn Stämme;

And unto his son will I give one tribe, that David my servant may have a light alway before me in Jerusalem, the city which I have chosen me to put my name there.

und seinem Sohne will ich einen Stamm geben, auf daß mein Knecht David alle Tage eine Leuchte vor mir habe in Jerusalem, der Stadt, die ich mir erwählt habe, um meinen Namen dahin zu setzen.

And I will take thee, and thou shalt reign according to all that thy soul desireth, and shalt be king over Israel.

Und dich will ich nehmen, daß du regierest über alles, was deine Seele begehren wird, und König seiest über Israel.

And it shall be, if thou wilt hearken unto all that I command thee, and wilt walk in my ways, and do that is right in my sight, to keep my statutes and my commandments, as David my servant did; that I will be with thee, and build thee a sure house, as I built for David, and will give Israel unto thee.

Und es wird geschehen, wenn du hören wirst auf alles, was ich dir gebiete, und auf meinen Wegen wandeln und tun wirst, was recht ist in meinen Augen, indem du meine Satzungen und meine Gebote beobachtest, wie mein Knecht David getan hat, so werde ich mit dir sein und dir ein beständiges Haus bauen, wie ich es dem David gebaut habe, und werde dir Israel geben;

And I will for this afflict the seed of David, but not for ever.

und ich werde den Samen Davids um deswillen demütigen, doch nicht für immer. -

Solomon sought therefore to kill Jeroboam. And Jeroboam arose, and fled into Egypt, unto Shishak king of Egypt, and was in Egypt until the death of Solomon.

Und Salomo suchte Jerobeam zu töten; da machte Jerobeam sich auf und entfloh nach Ägypten zu Sisak, dem König von Ägypten; und er war in Ägypten bis zum Tode Salomos.

And the rest of the acts of Solomon, and all that he did, and his wisdom, are they not written in the book of the acts of Solomon?

Und das Übrige der Geschichte Salomos und alles, was er getan hat, und seine Weisheit, ist das nicht geschrieben in dem Buche der Geschichte Salomos?

And the time that Solomon reigned in Jerusalem over all Israel was forty years.

Und die Tage, die Salomo zu Jerusalem über ganz Israel regierte, waren vierzig Jahre.

And Solomon slept with his fathers, and was buried in the city of David his father: and Rehoboam his son reigned in his stead.

Und Salomo legte sich zu seinen Vätern, und er wurde begraben in der Stadt seines Vaters David. Und Rehabeam, sein Sohn, ward König an seiner Statt.
