Psalms 59

Deliver me from mine enemies, O my God: defend me from them that rise up against me.

Deliver me from the workers of iniquity, and save me from bloody men.

Pelasta minua pahointekiöistä, ja auta minua murhamiehistä;

For, lo, they lie in wait for my soul: the mighty are gathered against me; not for my transgression, nor for my sin, O LORD.

Sillä katso, Herra, he väijyvät sieluani: väkevät kokoontuvat minua vastaan, ilman minun syytäni ja rikostani.

They run and prepare themselves without my fault: awake to help me, and behold.

He juoksevat ilman syytä, ja valmistavat itseänsä: nouse tulemaan minua vastaan ja katsomaan.

Thou therefore, O LORD God of hosts, the God of Israel, awake to visit all the heathen: be not merciful to any wicked transgressors. Selah.

Ja sinä, Herra Jumala Zebaot, Israelin Jumala, herää etsimään kaikkia pakanoita: älä ketään heistä armahda, jotka niin väkivaltaisesti vääryyttä tekevät, Sela!

They return at evening: they make a noise like a dog, and go round about the city.

He tulkoon taas ehtoona, ja ulvokaan niinkuin koira, ja samotkaan ympäri kaupungin.

Behold, they belch out with their mouth: swords are in their lips: for who, say they, doth hear?

Katso, he puhuvat suullansa: miekat ovat heidän huulissansa, kuka sen kuulis.

But thou, O LORD, shalt laugh at them; thou shalt have all the heathen in derision.

Mutta sinä, Herra, naurat heitä, ja pilkkaat kaikkia pakanoita.

Because of his strength will I wait upon thee: for God is my defence.

Heidän väkevyytensä edestä minä turvaan sinun tykös; sillä Jumala on minun varjelukseni.

The God of my mercy shall prevent me: God shall let me see my desire upon mine enemies.

Jumala osoittaa minulle runsaasti laupiutensa, Jumala antaa minun nähdä koston vihollisistani.

Slay them not, lest my people forget: scatter them by thy power; and bring them down, O Lord our shield.

Älä heitä tapa, ettei minun kansani sitä unohtaisi: hajoita heitä voimallas, ja lyö heitä maahan, Herra meidän kilpemme.

For the sin of their mouth and the words of their lips let them even be taken in their pride: and for cursing and lying which they speak.

Heidän huultensa puhe on heidän suunsa synti: ja he käsitetään ylpeydessänsä: ja he juttelevat kirouksia ja valhetta.

Consume them in wrath, consume them, that they may not be: and let them know that God ruleth in Jacob unto the ends of the earth. Selah.

Pyyhi heitä pois vihassas, pyyhi heitä pois, ettei he olisikaan; että he ymmärtäisivät sen, että Jumala hallitsee Jakobissa, hamaan maailman ääriin asti, Sela!

And at evening let them return; and let them make a noise like a dog, and go round about the city.

He tulkoon taas ehtoona, ja ulvokaan niinkuin koira, ja samotkaan ympäri kaupungin.

Let them wander up and down for meat, and grudge if they be not satisfied.

Anna heidän juosta sinne ja tänne ruoan tähden; ja ulvokaan, koska ei he ravituksi tule.

But I will sing of thy power; yea, I will sing aloud of thy mercy in the morning: for thou hast been my defence and refuge in the day of my trouble.

Mutta minä veisaan sinun väkevyyttäs, ja varhain kerskaan sinun laupiuttas; sillä sinä olet minun varjelukseni ja turvani minun hädässäni.

Unto thee, O my strength, will I sing: for God is my defence, and the God of my mercy.

Sinä olet minun väkevyyteni, sinulle minä kiitosta veisaan; sillä sinä Jumala olet minun varjelukseni ja minun armollinen Jumalani.
