Psalms 149

Alleluia. Cantate all’Eterno un nuovo cantico, cantate la sua lode nell’assemblea dei fedeli.

Praise ye the LORD. Sing unto the LORD a new song, and his praise in the congregation of saints.

Si rallegri Israele in colui che lo ha fatto, esultino i figliuoli di Sion nel loro re.

Let Israel rejoice in him that made him: let the children of Zion be joyful in their King.

Lodino il suo nome con danze, gli salmeggino col timpano e la cetra,

Let them praise his name in the dance: let them sing praises unto him with the timbrel and harp.

perché l’Eterno prende piacere nel suo popolo, egli adorna di salvezza gli umili.

For the LORD taketh pleasure in his people: he will beautify the meek with salvation.

Esultino i fedeli adorni di gloria, cantino di gioia sui loro letti.

Let the saints be joyful in glory: let them sing aloud upon their beds.

Abbiano in bocca le alte lodi di Dio, una spada a due tagli in mano

Let the high praises of God be in their mouth, and a twoedged sword in their hand;

per far vendetta delle nazioni e infligger castighi ai popoli;

To execute vengeance upon the heathen, and punishments upon the people;

per legare i loro re con catene e i loro nobili con ceppi di ferro,

To bind their kings with chains, and their nobles with fetters of iron;

per eseguir su loro il giudizio scritto. Questo è l’onore che hanno tutti i suoi fedeli. Alleluia.

To execute upon them the judgment written: this honour have all his saints. Praise ye the LORD.
