A megpecsételt *kötése*ken pedig ott valának: Nehémiás, a király helytartója, a Hakhalia fia és Sédékiás;

Now those that sealed were, Nehemiah, the Tirshatha, the son of Hachaliah, and Zidkijah,

Seraiah, Azariah, Jeremiah,

Pashur, Amaria, Malakiás,

Pashur, Amariah, Malchijah,

Hattus, Sebánia, Malluk,

Hattush, Shebaniah, Malluch,

Hárim, Merémóth, Abdiás,

Harim, Meremoth, Obadiah,

Dániel, Ginnethón, Bárukh,

Daniel, Ginnethon, Baruch,

Mesullám, Abija, Mijámin,

Meshullam, Abijah, Mijamin,

Maazia, Bilgai, Semája; ezek papok voltak.

Maaziah, Bilgai, Shemaiah: these were the priests.

A Léviták pedig *ezek:* Jésua, Azania fia, Binnui, a Hénadád fiai közül, Kadmiel,

And the Levites: both Jeshua the son of Azaniah, Binnui of the sons of Henadad, Kadmiel;

És atyjafiaik: Sebánia, Hódija, Kelita, Pelája, Hanán,

And their brethren, Shebaniah, Hodijah, Kelita, Pelaiah, Hanan,

Mika, Rehób, Hasábia,

Micha, Rehob, Hashabiah,

Zakkur, Serébia, Sebánia,

Zaccur, Sherebiah, Shebaniah,

Hódija, Báni, Beninu.

Hodijah, Bani, Beninu.

A nép fejei *pedig ezek:* Parós Pahath-Moáb, Elám, Zattu, Báni,

The chief of the people; Parosh, Pahath–moab, Elam, Zatthu, Bani,

Bunni, Azgád, Bébai,

Adonija, Bigvai, Adin,

Adonijah, Bigvai, Adin,

Áter, Ezékiás, Azzur,

And the rest of the people, the priests, the Levites, the porters, the singers, the Nethinims, and all they that had separated themselves from the people of the lands unto the law of God, their wives, their sons, and their daughters, every one having knowledge, and having understanding;

Csatlakozának atyjokfiaihoz, előljáróikhoz, és átok mellett esküt tevének, hogy az Isten törvényében járnak, a mely Mózes által az Isten szolgája által adatott vala ki; s hogy megőrzik és cselekeszik az Úrnak, a mi Urunknak minden parancsolatait, végzéseit és rendeléseit;

They clave to their brethren, their nobles, and entered into a curse, and into an oath, to walk in God's law, which was given by Moses the servant of God, and to observe and do all the commandments of the LORD our Lord, and his judgments and his statutes;

És hogy nem fogjuk adni leányainkat feleségül a föld népeinek, sem az ő leányaikat nem fogjuk venni a mi fiainknak,

And that we would not give our daughters unto the people of the land, nor take their daughters for our sons:

És hogy a föld népeitől, akik árúkat és mindenféle gabonát hoznak szombatnapon eladni, nem fogunk venni tőlök szombaton és *egyéb* szent napon, és hogy nem fogjuk bevetni a földet a hetedik esztendőben, és elengedünk minden tartozást.

And if the people of the land bring ware or any victuals on the sabbath day to sell, that we would not buy it of them on the sabbath, or on the holy day: and that we would leave the seventh year, and the exaction of every debt.

És megállapítánk magunkra nézve parancsolatokat: hogy vetünk magunkra harmadrész siklust esztendőnként a mi Istenünk házának szolgálatára,

Also we made ordinances for us, to charge ourselves yearly with the third part of a shekel for the service of the house of our God;

A szent kenyerekre, a szüntelen való ételáldozatra és a szüntelen való égőáldozatra, a szombatokon, újholdak napján *viendő áldozatokra,* az ünnepnapokra, a szent dolgokra, a bűnért való áldozatokra, hogy *mindezek* megtisztítsák Izráelt; és a mi Istenünk házának minden munkájára;

For the shewbread, and for the continual meat offering, and for the continual burnt offering, of the sabbaths, of the new moons, for the set feasts, and for the holy things, and for the sin offerings to make an atonement for Israel, and for all the work of the house of our God.

Sorsot veténk továbbá a fa hozása felől a papok, Léviták és a nép között, hogy hordjuk azt a mi Istenünk házába családaink szerint bizonyos időkben esztendőnként, hogy égjen az Úrnak, a mi Istenünknek oltárán, a mint meg van írva a törvényben,

And we cast the lots among the priests, the Levites, and the people, for the wood offering, to bring it into the house of our God, after the houses of our fathers, at times appointed year by year, to burn upon the altar of the LORD our God, as it is written in the law:

És hogy felviszszük földünknek első zsengéjét és minden fa gyümölcsének első zsengéjét esztendőnként az Úr házába;

And to bring the firstfruits of our ground, and the firstfruits of all fruit of all trees, year by year, unto the house of the LORD:

Annakfelette fiainknak, barmainknak első fiait, a mint meg van írva a törvényben; továbbá, hogy elviszszük szarvasmarháinknak és juhainknak első fajzásait a mi Istenünk házába a papoknak, a kik szolgálnak a mi Istenünk házában.

Also the firstborn of our sons, and of our cattle, as it is written in the law, and the firstlings of our herds and of our flocks, to bring to the house of our God, unto the priests that minister in the house of our God:

És a mi lisztjeinknek, felemelt áldozatainknak, minden fa gyümölcsének, mustnak és olajnak zsengéjét felviszszük a papoknak, a mi Istenünk házának kamaráiba, földünknek tizedét pedig a Lévitákhoz; mert ők, a Léviták szedik be a tizedet minden földműveléssel foglalatoskodó városainkban.

And that we should bring the firstfruits of our dough, and our offerings, and the fruit of all manner of trees, of wine and of oil, unto the priests, to the chambers of the house of our God; and the tithes of our ground unto the Levites, that the same Levites might have the tithes in all the cities of our tillage.

És legyen a pap, Áron fia a Lévitákkal, midőn a Léviták a tizedet beszedik; és a Léviták vigyék fel a tizednek tizedét a mi Istenünk házába, a tárháznak kamaráiba;

And the priest the son of Aaron shall be with the Levites, when the Levites take tithes: and the Levites shall bring up the tithe of the tithes unto the house of our God, to the chambers, into the treasure house.

Mert a kamarákba kell hozniok Izráel fiainak és Lévi fiainak a gabonának, a mustnak és az olajnak ajándékát, holott vannak a szent edények és az *Istennek* szolgáló papok, a kapunállók és az énekesek; és mi nem hagyjuk el a mi Istenünknek házát.

For the children of Israel and the children of Levi shall bring the offering of the corn, of the new wine, and the oil, unto the chambers, where are the vessels of the sanctuary, and the priests that minister, and the porters, and the singers: and we will not forsake the house of our God.
