Psalms 45

با کلمات زیبایی که از فکرم تراوش می‌کنند، می‌‌‌‌خواهم مانند نویسنده‌ای با استعداد، شعر دلنوازی در وصف پادشاه بسرایم.

My heart is inditing a good matter: I speak of the things which I have made touching the king: my tongue is the pen of a ready writer.

45:2

تو زیباتر از همهٔ انسانهایی، فیض از لبان تو جاری است، خدا برای همیشه تو را مبارک ساخته است.

Thou art fairer than the children of men: grace is poured into thy lips: therefore God hath blessed thee for ever.

45:3

ای پادشاه مقتدر، شمشیر خود را به کمر ببند، تو پُر جلال و با شکوهی،

Gird thy sword upon thy thigh, O most mighty, with thy glory and thy majesty.

45:4

برای دفاع از حقیقت و راستی با شکوه بر مَرکب خود سوار شو، دست توانای تو، تو را پیروز می‌گرداند.

And in thy majesty ride prosperously because of truth and meekness and righteousness; and thy right hand shall teach thee terrible things.

45:5

تیرهای تو به قلب دشمنانت خواهد نشست، ملّتها به پای تو خواهند افتاد.

Thine arrows are sharp in the heart of the king's enemies; whereby the people fall under thee.

45:6

سلطنتی را که خدا به تو بخشیده است، تا به ابد پایدار خواهد بود. تو با عدالت بر ملّت خود حکومت می‌کنی.

Thy throne, O God, is for ever and ever: the sceptre of thy kingdom is a right sceptre.

45:7

راستی را دوست می‌داری و از شرارت متنفری. بنابراین خدای تو، تو را برگزیده، بیش از هرکس دیگر تو را شادمان ساخته است.

Thou lovest righteousness, and hatest wickedness: therefore God, thy God, hath anointed thee with the oil of gladness above thy fellows.

45:8

لباسهای تو همه آمیخته با عطر است، عطر مُر، عود و دارچین، در کاخ عاج، نوای شیرین موسیقی تو را شادمان می‌سازد.

All thy garments smell of myrrh, and aloes, and cassia, out of the ivory palaces, whereby they have made thee glad.

45:9

دختران پادشاهان، ندیمه‌های دربار تو هستند، ملکه، مُزیّن به طلای خالص در سمت راست تخت تو ایستاده است.

Kings' daughters were among thy honourable women: upon thy right hand did stand the queen in gold of Ophir.
