Psalms 40

(По слав. 39) За първия певец. Псалм на Давид. Чаках търпеливо ГОСПОДА и Той се приклони към мен и чу вика ми.

I waited patiently for the LORD; and he inclined unto me, and heard my cry.

Изведе ме от рова на погибелта, от тинята и от калта; на скала постави краката ми и стъпките ми утвърди.

He brought me up also out of an horrible pit, out of the miry clay, and set my feet upon a rock, and established my goings.

И сложи в устата ми нова песен, възхвала на нашия Бог; мнозина ще видят и ще се убоят, и ще се уповават на ГОСПОДА.

And he hath put a new song in my mouth, even praise unto our God: many shall see it, and fear, and shall trust in the LORD.

Блажен онзи човек, който е направил ГОСПОДА своя надежда и не се обръща към горделивите, нито към онези, които се отклоняват в лъжи.

Blessed is that man that maketh the LORD his trust, and respecteth not the proud, nor such as turn aside to lies.

ГОСПОДИ, Боже мой, много са чудесата, които си извършил и Твоите мисли за нас не могат да се изредят пред Теб. Ако бих поискал да ги разкажа и за тях да говоря — те са твърде много, за да бъдат изброени.

Many, O LORD my God, are thy wonderful works which thou hast done, and thy thoughts which are to us-ward: they cannot be reckoned up in order unto thee: if I would declare and speak of them, they are more than can be numbered.

Жертва и принос Ти не си пожелал; отворил си уши в мен; всеизгаряне и принос за грях не си поискал.

Sacrifice and offering thou didst not desire; mine ears hast thou opened: burnt offering and sin offering hast thou not required.

Тогава казах: Ето, идвам; в свитъка на книгата е писано за мен.

Then said I, Lo, I come: in the volume of the book it is written of me,

Радвам се да върша волята Ти, Боже мой, и Твоят закон е вътре във вътрешностите ми.

I delight to do thy will, O my God: yea, thy law is within my heart.

Проповядвах правда в голямо събрание; ето, не въздържам устните си — ГОСПОДИ, Ти знаеш!

I have preached righteousness in the great congregation: lo, I have not refrained my lips, O LORD, thou knowest.

Не скрих правдата Ти вътре във сърцето си, изявих верността Ти и спасението Ти, не укрих милостта Ти и истината Ти от голямо събрание.

I have not hid thy righteousness within my heart; I have declared thy faithfulness and thy salvation: I have not concealed thy lovingkindness and thy truth from the great congregation.

ГОСПОДИ, не задържай благите Си милости от мен; нека Твоята милост и Твоята истина ме пазят винаги!

Withhold not thou thy tender mercies from me, O LORD: let thy lovingkindness and thy truth continually preserve me.

Защото ме обкръжиха безброй злини, беззаконията ми ме стигнаха, така че не мога да гледам; те са по-многобройни от космите на главата ми и сърцето ми ме оставя.

For innumerable evils have compassed me about: mine iniquities have taken hold upon me, so that I am not able to look up; they are more than the hairs of mine head: therefore my heart faileth me.

Благоволи, ГОСПОДИ, да ме избавиш; побързай, ГОСПОДИ, да ми помогнеш!

Be pleased, O LORD, to deliver me: O LORD, make haste to help me.

Нека се посрамят и заедно се унижат онези, които търсят да погубят живота ми; нека се обърнат назад и се опозорят онези, които се радват на злощастието ми.

Let them be ashamed and confounded together that seek after my soul to destroy it; let them be driven backward and put to shame that wish me evil.

Нека се ужасят от срама си онези, които ми казват: Охо-хо!

Let them be desolate for a reward of their shame that say unto me, Aha, aha.

Нека се радват и се веселят в Теб всички, които Те търсят; които обичат Твоето спасение, нека винаги казват: Да се величае ГОСПОД!

Let all those that seek thee rejoice and be glad in thee: let such as love thy salvation say continually, The LORD be magnified.

А аз съм сиромах и беден, но Господ мисли за мен. Помощ моя и мой спасител си Ти; Боже мой, не се бави!

But I am poor and needy; yet the Lord thinketh upon me: thou art my help and my deliverer; make no tarrying, O my God.
