Psalms 140

(По слав. 139) За първия певец. Псалм на Давид. Избави ме, ГОСПОДИ, от зли хора, опази ме от насилници,

Deliver me, O LORD, from the evil man: preserve me from the violent man;

които замислят зло в сърцата си и всеки ден предизвикват войни.

Which imagine mischiefs in their heart; continually are they gathered together for war.

Изострят езика си като змия; под устните им има аспидова отрова. (Села.)

They have sharpened their tongues like a serpent; adders' poison is under their lips. Selah.

Запази ме, ГОСПОДИ, от ръцете на безбожните, опази ме от насилници, които намислиха да спънат стъпките ми.

Keep me, O LORD, from the hands of the wicked; preserve me from the violent man; who have purposed to overthrow my goings.

Надменните скриха за мен примка и въжета, разпростряха мрежа край пътя, поставиха клопки за мен. (Села.)

The proud have hid a snare for me, and cords; they have spread a net by the wayside; they have set gins for me. Selah.

Казах на ГОСПОДА: Ти си моят Бог; чуй, ГОСПОДИ, гласа на молбите ми!

I said unto the LORD, Thou art my God: hear the voice of my supplications, O LORD.

БОЖЕ, Господи, сило на моето спасение, Ти си покрил главата ми в деня на битката.

O GOD the Lord, the strength of my salvation, thou hast covered my head in the day of battle.

Не удовлетворявай, ГОСПОДИ, желанията на безбожния; не оставяй да успее неговият план, за да се възвишат! (Села.)

Grant not, O LORD, the desires of the wicked: further not his wicked device; lest they exalt themselves. Selah.

А главите на онези, които ме заобикалят — нека злото на устните им ги покрие!

As for the head of those that compass me about, let the mischief of their own lips cover them.

Нека паднат върху тях горящи въглища, нека бъдат хвърлени в огъня, в дълбоки ями, за да не станат вече.

Let burning coals fall upon them: let them be cast into the fire; into deep pits, that they rise not up again.

Нека не се утвърди клеветник в земята, нека зло преследва насилника, докато го постигне.

Let not an evil speaker be established in the earth: evil shall hunt the violent man to overthrow him.

Зная, че ГОСПОД ще отдаде правосъдието на угнетените и правото на сиромасите.

I know that the LORD will maintain the cause of the afflicted, and the right of the poor.

Наистина праведните ще славят Името Ти, праведните ще обитават в Твоето присъствие!

Surely the righteous shall give thanks unto thy name: the upright shall dwell in thy presence.
