Ecclesiastes 5

Пази стъпките си, когато отиваш към Божия дом, и по-добре да се приближиш да слушаш, отколкото да принесеш жертва на безумни, защото те не знаят, че вършат зло.

Keep thy foot when thou goest to the house of God, and be more ready to hear, than to give the sacrifice of fools: for they consider not that they do evil.

Не прибързвай с устата си и да не бърза сърцето ти да произнася дума пред Бога — защото Бог е на небето, а ти си на земята, затова нека думите ти бъдат малко.

Be not rash with thy mouth, and let not thine heart be hasty to utter any thing before God: for God is in heaven, and thou upon earth: therefore let thy words be few.

Защото сънищата идват от много занимание и гласът на безумния — от много думи.

For a dream cometh through the multitude of business; and a fool's voice is known by multitude of words.

Когато дадеш обещание на Бога, не се бави да го изпълниш, защото Той не благоволява в безумните. Изпълни това, което си обещал!

When thou vowest a vow unto God, defer not to pay it; for he hath no pleasure in fools: pay that which thou hast vowed.

По-добре да не обещаваш, отколкото да обещаеш и да не изпълниш.

Better is it that thou shouldest not vow, than that thou shouldest vow and not pay.

Не позволявай на устата си да вкара плътта ти в грях и не казвай пред Божия Ангел, че е било по погрешка. Защо да се разгневи Бог на гласа ти и да унищожи делото на ръцете ти?

Suffer not thy mouth to cause thy flesh to sin; neither say thou before the angel, that it was an error: wherefore should God be angry at thy voice, and destroy the work of thine hands?

Защото в множеството на сънищата и в множеството на думите има суети, но ти се бой от Бога.

For in the multitude of dreams and many words there are also divers vanities: but fear thou God.

Ако видиш угнетяване на бедния и изкривяване на правосъдието и правдата в страната, не се учудвай на това нещо; защото над високия служител надзирава друг по-висок, а над тях има още по-високи.

If thou seest the oppression of the poor, and violent perverting of judgment and justice in a province, marvel not at the matter: for he that is higher than the highest regardeth; and there be higher than they.

И ползата от земята е за всичките; и сам царят има полза от нивите.

Moreover the profit of the earth is for all: the king himself is served by the field.

Който обича парите, няма да се насити с пари, нито с доходи — онзи, който обича изобилието. И това е суета.

He that loveth silver shall not be satisfied with silver; nor he that loveth abundance with increase: this is also vanity.

Когато се увеличават благата, увеличават се и онези, които ги ядат; затова, каква полза имат притежателите им, освен да ги гледат с очите си?

When goods increase, they are increased that eat them: and what good is there to the owners thereof, saving the beholding of them with their eyes?

Сънят на онзи, който работи, е сладък, независимо дали яде малко, или много, а пресищането на богатия не го оставя да спи.

The sleep of a labouring man is sweet, whether he eat little or much: but the abundance of the rich will not suffer him to sleep.

Има тежко зло, което видях под слънцето — богатство, пазено от притежателя му за негова вреда.

There is a sore evil which I have seen under the sun, namely, riches kept for the owners thereof to their hurt.

Но онова богатство се загубва от зъл случай и когато той ражда син, няма нищо в ръката му.

But those riches perish by evil travail: and he begetteth a son, and there is nothing in his hand.

Както е излязъл от утробата на майка си, гол ще се върне, и ще си отиде, както е дошъл. Няма да вземе нищо от плода на труда си, което да отнесе в ръката си.

As he came forth of his mother's womb, naked shall he return to go as he came, and shall take nothing of his labour, which he may carry away in his hand.

И това също е тежко зло — както е дошъл, така ще си и отиде и каква полза за него, че се е трудил на вятъра?

And this also is a sore evil, that in all points as he came, so shall he go: and what profit hath he that hath laboured for the wind?

Още и през всичките си дни той яде в тъмнина с много досада и болест, и гняв.

All his days also he eateth in darkness, and he hath much sorrow and wrath with his sickness.

Ето какво видях за добро и прилично — човек да яде, да пие и да вижда добро от целия си труд, в който се труди под слънцето според броя на дните на живота си, които Бог му е дал; защото това е делът му.

Behold that which I have seen: it is good and comely for one to eat and to drink, and to enjoy the good of all his labour that he taketh under the sun all the days of his life, which God giveth him: for it is his portion.

И за всеки човек, на когото Бог е дал богатство и имот, и му е дал власт да яде от него, да взема дела си и да се весели в труда си — това е дар от Бога.

Every man also to whom God hath given riches and wealth, and hath given him power to eat thereof, and to take his portion, and to rejoice in his labour; this is the gift of God.

Защото няма да мисли много за дните на живота си, понеже Бог го занимава с радостта на сърцето му.

For he shall not much remember the days of his life; because God answereth him in the joy of his heart.
