I Samuel 14

И един ден Йонатан, синът на Саул, каза на оръженосеца си: Ела да преминем към филистимския пост, който е оттатък. Но на баща си не каза.

Now it came to pass upon a day, that Jonathan the son of Saul said unto the young man that bare his armour, Come, and let us go over to the Philistines' garrison, that is on the other side. But he told not his father.

А Саул седеше край Гавая под наровото дърво, което е в Мигрон. И народът, който беше с него, беше около шестстотин мъже.

And Saul tarried in the uttermost part of Gibeah under a pomegranate tree which is in Migron: and the people that were with him were about six hundred men;

И Ахия, синът на Ахитов, брат на Ихавод, син на Финеес, син на Илий, ГОСПОДНИЯ свещеник в Сило, носеше ефода. А народът не знаеше, че Йонатан е отишъл.

And Ahiah, the son of Ahitub, I–chabod's brother, the son of Phinehas, the son of Eli, the LORD'S priest in Shiloh, wearing an ephod. And the people knew not that Jonathan was gone.

И между проходите, през които Йонатан търсеше да премине към филистимския пост, имаше остра скала от едната страна и остра скала от другата страна; и името на едната беше Восес, а името на другата — Сене.

And between the passages, by which Jonathan sought to go over unto the Philistines' garrison, there was a sharp rock on the one side, and a sharp rock on the other side: and the name of the one was Bozez, and the name of the other Seneh.

Едната скала се издигаше като стълб на север срещу Михмас, а другата — на юг срещу Гава.

The forefront of the one was situate northward over against Michmash, and the other southward over against Gibeah.

Тогава Йонатан каза на оръженосеца: Ела да преминем към поста на тези необрязани. Може ГОСПОД да подейства за нас, защото нищо не пречи на ГОСПОДА да спаси чрез мнозина или чрез малцина.

And Jonathan said to the young man that bare his armour, Come, and let us go over unto the garrison of these uncircumcised: it may be that the LORD will work for us: for there is no restraint to the LORD to save by many or by few.

И оръженосецът му каза: Направи всичко, което е в сърцето ти; обърни се накъдето искаш; ето, аз съм с теб според волята на сърцето ти.

And his armourbearer said unto him, Do all that is in thine heart: turn thee; behold, I am with thee according to thy heart.

Тогава Йонатан каза: Ето, ще преминем към тези мъже и ще им се покажем.

Then said Jonathan, Behold, we will pass over unto these men, and we will discover ourselves unto them.

Ако кажат така: Чакайте, докато дойдем при вас! — тогава ще останем на мястото си и няма да се изкачим при тях.

If they say thus unto us, Tarry until we come to you; then we will stand still in our place, and will not go up unto them.

Но ако кажат така: Качете се при нас! — тогава ще се изкачим, защото ГОСПОД ги е предал в ръката ни; и това ще ни бъде знакът.

But if they say thus, Come up unto us; then we will go up: for the LORD hath delivered them into our hand: and this shall be a sign unto us.

И двамата се показаха на филистимския пост и филистимците казаха: Ето, евреите излизат от дупките, където са се скрили.

And both of them discovered themselves unto the garrison of the Philistines: and the Philistines said, Behold, the Hebrews come forth out of the holes where they had hid themselves.

Тогава мъжете от поста извикаха на Йонатан и оръженосеца му и казаха: Изкачете се при нас и ще ви съобщим нещо. И Йонатан каза на оръженосеца си: Изкачи се след мен, защото ГОСПОД ги предаде в ръката на Израил.

And the men of the garrison answered Jonathan and his armourbearer, and said, Come up to us, and we will shew you a thing. And Jonathan said unto his armourbearer, Come up after me: for the LORD hath delivered them into the hand of Israel.

И Йонатан се изкачи на ръцете си и краката си и оръженосецът му след него. И те падаха пред Йонатан, а оръженосецът му ги убиваше след него.

And Jonathan climbed up upon his hands and upon his feet, and his armourbearer after him: and they fell before Jonathan; and his armourbearer slew after him.

И първото поражение, което Йонатан и оръженосецът му им нанесоха, беше около двадесет мъже на около половин нива, изорана от един впряг.

And that first slaughter, which Jonathan and his armourbearer made, was about twenty men, within as it were an half acre of land, which a yoke of oxen might plow.

И настана ужас в стана, на полето и сред целия народ; и постът, и нападателите се ужасиха и земята се потресе, и настана ужас от Бога.

And there was trembling in the host, in the field, and among all the people: the garrison, and the spoilers, they also trembled, and the earth quaked: so it was a very great trembling.

И стражите на Саул в Гавая Вениаминова погледнаха, и ето, множеството се стопяваше и постепенно се разпръсваше.

And the watchmen of Saul in Gibeah of Benjamin looked; and, behold, the multitude melted away, and they went on beating down one another.

Тогава Саул каза на народа, който беше с него: Пребройте сега, и вижте кой си е отишъл от нас. И като преброиха, ето, Йонатан и оръженосеца му ги нямаше.

Then said Saul unto the people that were with him, Number now, and see who is gone from us. And when they had numbered, behold, Jonathan and his armourbearer were not there.

И Саул каза на Ахия: Донеси Божия ковчег! — защото по онова време Божият ковчег беше с израилевите синове.

And Saul said unto Ahiah, Bring hither the ark of God. For the ark of God was at that time with the children of Israel.

Но докато Саул говореше на свещеника, глъчката в стана на филистимците продължаваше да се увеличава; затова Саул каза на свещеника: Оттегли ръката си.

And it came to pass, while Saul talked unto the priest, that the noise that was in the host of the Philistines went on and increased: and Saul said unto the priest, Withdraw thine hand.

И Саул и целият народ, който беше с него, се събраха и влязоха в боя; и ето, мечът на всеки беше срещу ближния му, и имаше много голямо объркване.

And Saul and all the people that were with him assembled themselves, and they came to the battle: and, behold, every man's sword was against his fellow, and there was a very great discomfiture.

А евреите, които преди това бяха с филистимците и които бяха отишли с тях в стана отвсякъде, също се присъединиха към израилтяните, които бяха със Саул и Йонатан.

Moreover the Hebrews that were with the Philistines before that time, which went up with them into the camp from the country round about, even they also turned to be with the Israelites that were with Saul and Jonathan.

И всичките израилеви мъже, които се бяха скрили в хълмистата земя на Ефрем, чуха, че филистимците бягали, и ги последваха в битката.

Likewise all the men of Israel which had hid themselves in mount Ephraim, when they heard that the Philistines fled, even they also followed hard after them in the battle.

Така ГОСПОД избави Израил в онзи ден; и битката се разпростря до Ветавен.

So the LORD saved Israel that day: and the battle passed over unto Beth–aven.

А израилевите мъже се измъчиха в онзи ден, защото Саул беше поставил народа под клетва, като беше казал: Проклет онзи, който вкуси храна до вечерта, докато не отмъстя на враговете си! Затова никой от народа не вкуси храна.

And the men of Israel were distressed that day: for Saul had adjured the people, saying, Cursed be the man that eateth any food until evening, that I may be avenged on mine enemies. So none of the people tasted any food.

И целият народ дойде в една гора, където имаше мед по земята.

And all they of the land came to a wood; and there was honey upon the ground.

И когато народът влезе в гората, ето, медът капеше; но никой не сложи ръката си до устата си, защото народът се боеше от клетвата.

And when the people were come into the wood, behold, the honey dropped; but no man put his hand to his mouth: for the people feared the oath.

Но Йонатан не беше чул, че баща му поставил народа под клетва, затова простря края на тоягата, която беше в ръката му, и я натопи в медената пита, и сложи ръката си в устата си; и му светна пред очите.

But Jonathan heard not when his father charged the people with the oath: wherefore he put forth the end of the rod that was in his hand, and dipped it in an honeycomb, and put his hand to his mouth; and his eyes were enlightened.

Тогава един от народа заговори и каза: Баща ти постави народа под строга клетва, като каза: Проклет онзи, който днес вкуси храна! А народът беше изнемощял.

Then answered one of the people, and said, Thy father straitly charged the people with an oath, saying, Cursed be the man that eateth any food this day. And the people were faint.

А Йонатан каза: Баща ми докара беда на земята. Вижте сега как ми светна пред очите, защото вкусих малко от този мед.

Then said Jonathan, My father hath troubled the land: see, I pray you, how mine eyes have been enlightened, because I tasted a little of this honey.

А колко повече, ако народът беше ял днес свободно от плячката на враговете си, която намери, защото нямаше ли сега да има много по-голямо поражение сред филистимците?

How much more, if haply the people had eaten freely to day of the spoil of their enemies which they found? for had there not been now a much greater slaughter among the Philistines?

И в онзи ден те разбиха филистимците от Михмас до Еалон. А народът беше много изнемощял.

And they smote the Philistines that day from Michmash to Aijalon: and the people were very faint.

И народът се нахвърли върху плячката и взе овце, говеда и телета, и ги колеше на земята, и народът ядеше с кръвта.

And the people flew upon the spoil, and took sheep, and oxen, and calves, and slew them on the ground: and the people did eat them with the blood.

И съобщиха на Саул и казаха: Ето, народът съгрешава против ГОСПОДА, като яде с кръвта. А той каза: Вие постъпихте невярно! Отърколете веднага към мен един голям камък.

Then they told Saul, saying, Behold, the people sin against the LORD, in that they eat with the blood. And he said, Ye have transgressed: roll a great stone unto me this day.

И Саул каза: Разпръснете се между народа и кажете: Докарайте ми тук всеки говедото си и всеки овцата си и ги заколете тук, и яжте, и не съгрешавайте против ГОСПОДА, като ядете с кръвта! И в онази нощ целият народ докара всеки говедото си със себе си и ги заклаха там.

And Saul said, Disperse yourselves among the people, and say unto them, Bring me hither every man his ox, and every man his sheep, and slay them here, and eat; and sin not against the LORD in eating with the blood. And all the people brought every man his ox with him that night, and slew them there.

И Саул построи олтар на ГОСПОДА; това беше първият олтар, който той построи на ГОСПОДА.

And Saul built an altar unto the LORD: the same was the first altar that he built unto the LORD.

И Саул каза: Да слезем след филистимците през нощта и да разграбим плячката между тях, докато се развидели, и да не оставим нито един от тях. А те казаха: Направи, каквото ти се вижда добро. Тогава свещеникът каза: Нека се приближим тук при Бога!

And Saul said, Let us go down after the Philistines by night, and spoil them until the morning light, and let us not leave a man of them. And they said, Do whatsoever seemeth good unto thee. Then said the priest, Let us draw near hither unto God.

И Саул се допита до Бога: Да сляза ли след филистимците? Ще ги предадеш ли в ръката на Израил? Но Той не му отговори в онзи ден.

And Saul asked counsel of God, Shall I go down after the Philistines? wilt thou deliver them into the hand of Israel? But he answered him not that day.

И Саул каза: Приближете се тук, всички вие, началници на народа, и разберете, и вижте в какво е станал този грях днес.

And Saul said, Draw ye near hither, all the chief of the people: and know and see wherein this sin hath been this day.

Защото — жив е ГОСПОД, който избавя Израил — даже и да е в сина ми Йонатан, непременно ще умре! Но никой от целия народ не му отговори.

For, as the LORD liveth, which saveth Israel, though it be in Jonathan my son, he shall surely die. But there was not a man among all the people that answered him.

Тогава той каза на целия Израил: Вие ще бъдете от едната страна, а аз и синът ми Йонатан ще бъдем от другата страна. И народът каза на Саул: Направи, каквото ти се вижда добро.

Then said he unto all Israel, Be ye on one side, and I and Jonathan my son will be on the other side. And the people said unto Saul, Do what seemeth good unto thee.

И Саул каза на ГОСПОДА, Израилевия Бог: Дай истина! И чрез жребия се хванаха Йонатан и Саул, а народът се отърва.

Therefore Saul said unto the LORD God of Israel, Give a perfect lot. And Saul and Jonathan were taken: but the people escaped.

И Саул каза: Хвърлете жребия между мен и сина ми Йонатан! И чрез жребия се хвана Йонатан.

And Saul said, Cast lots between me and Jonathan my son. And Jonathan was taken.

Тогава Саул каза на Йонатан: Кажи ми какво си сторил! И Йонатан му отговори и каза: Вкусих само малко мед с края на тоягата, която беше в ръката ми, и ето, трябва да умра!

Then Saul said to Jonathan, Tell me what thou hast done. And Jonathan told him, and said, I did but taste a little honey with the end of the rod that was in mine hand, and, lo, I must die.

И Саул каза: Така да направи Бог и така да прибави — непременно ще умреш, Йонатане!

And Saul answered, God do so and more also: for thou shalt surely die, Jonathan.

Но народът каза на Саул: Йонатан ли да умре, който извърши това велико избавление в Израил? Да не бъде! Жив е ГОСПОД — косъм от главата му няма да падне на земята, защото той действа с Бога днес! Така народът спаси Йонатан и той не умря.

And the people said unto Saul, Shall Jonathan die, who hath wrought this great salvation in Israel? God forbid: as the LORD liveth, there shall not one hair of his head fall to the ground; for he hath wrought with God this day. So the people rescued Jonathan, that he died not.

Тогава Саул се изкачи от преследването на филистимците, а филистимците си отидоха на мястото.

Then Saul went up from following the Philistines: and the Philistines went to their own place.

И Саул пое управлението над Израил и воюва срещу всичките си врагове отвсякъде: срещу Моав, срещу синовете на Амон, срещу Едом, срещу царете на Сова и срещу филистимците. И накъдето и да се обърнеше, побеждаваше.

So Saul took the kingdom over Israel, and fought against all his enemies on every side, against Moab, and against the children of Ammon, and against Edom, and against the kings of Zobah, and against the Philistines: and whithersoever he turned himself, he vexed them.

И действаше със сила и разби Амалик, и избави Израил от ръцете на грабителите му.

And he gathered an host, and smote the Amalekites, and delivered Israel out of the hands of them that spoiled them.

А синовете на Саул бяха Йонатан, Исуй и Мелхисуя; а имената на двете му дъщери бяха: името на първородната — Мерава, а името на по-младата — Михала.

Now the sons of Saul were Jonathan, and Ishui, and Melchi–shua: and the names of his two daughters were these; the name of the firstborn Merab, and the name of the younger Michal:

А името на жената на Саул беше Ахиноама, дъщеря на Ахимаас. И името на военачалника му беше Авенир, синът на Нир, чичото на Саул,

And the name of Saul's wife was Ahinoam, the daughter of Ahimaaz: and the name of the captain of his host was Abner, the son of Ner, Saul's uncle.

защото Кис, бащата на Саул, и Нир, бащата на Авенир, бяха синове на Авиил.

And Kish was the father of Saul; and Ner the father of Abner was the son of Abiel.

А войната срещу филистимците беше жестока през всичките дни на Саул; и когато Саул виждаше някой силен мъж или някой храбър мъж, го вземаше при себе си.

And there was sore war against the Philistines all the days of Saul: and when Saul saw any strong man, or any valiant man, he took him unto him.
