Isaiah 14

کیونکہ رب یعقوب پر ترس کھائے گا، وہ دوبارہ اسرائیلیوں کو چن کر اُنہیں اُن کے اپنے ملک میں بسا دے گا۔ پردیسی بھی اُن کے ساتھ مل جائیں گے، وہ یعقوب کے گھرانے سے منسلک ہو جائیں گے۔

For the LORD will have mercy on Jacob, and will yet choose Israel, and set them in their own land: and the strangers shall be joined with them, and they shall cleave to the house of Jacob.

دیگر قومیں اسرائیلیوں کو لے کر اُن کے وطن میں واپس پہنچا دیں گی۔ تب اسرائیل کا گھرانا اِن پردیسیوں کو ورثے میں پائے گا، اور یہ رب کے ملک میں اُن کے نوکر نوکرانیاں بن کر اُن کی خدمت کریں گے۔ جنہوں نے اُنہیں جلاوطن کیا تھا اُن ہی کو وہ جلاوطن کئے رکھیں گے، جنہوں نے اُن پر ظلم کیا تھا اُن ہی پر وہ حکومت کریں گے۔

And the people shall take them, and bring them to their place: and the house of Israel shall possess them in the land of the LORD for servants and handmaids: and they shall take them captives, whose captives they were; and they shall rule over their oppressors.

جس دن رب تجھے مصیبت، بےچینی اور ظالمانہ غلامی سے آرام دے گا

And it shall come to pass in the day that the LORD shall give thee rest from thy sorrow, and from thy fear, and from the hard bondage wherein thou wast made to serve,

اُس دن تُو بابل کے بادشاہ پر طنز کا گیت گائے گا، ”یہ کیسی بات ہے؟ ظالم نیست و نابود اور اُس کے حملے ختم ہو گئے ہیں۔

That thou shalt take up this proverb against the king of Babylon, and say, How hath the oppressor ceased! the golden city ceased!

رب نے بےدینوں کی لاٹھی توڑ کر حکمرانوں کا وہ شاہی عصا ٹکڑے ٹکڑے کر دیا ہے

The LORD hath broken the staff of the wicked, and the sceptre of the rulers.

جو طیش میں آ کر قوموں کو مسلسل مارتا رہا اور غصے سے اُن پر حکومت کرتا، بےرحمی سے اُن کے پیچھے پڑا رہا۔

He who smote the people in wrath with a continual stroke, he that ruled the nations in anger, is persecuted, and none hindereth.

اب پوری دنیا کو آرام و سکون حاصل ہوا ہے، اب ہر طرف خوشی کے نعرے سنائی دے رہے ہیں۔

The whole earth is at rest, and is quiet: they break forth into singing.

جونیپر کے درخت اور لبنان کے دیودار بھی تیرے انجام پر خوش ہو کر کہتے ہیں، ’شکر ہے! جب سے تُو گرا دیا گیا کوئی یہاں چڑھ کر ہمیں کاٹنے نہیں آتا۔‘

Yea, the fir trees rejoice at thee, and the cedars of Lebanon, saying, Since thou art laid down, no feller is come up against us.

پاتال تیرے اُترنے کے باعث ہل گیا ہے۔ تیرے انتظار میں وہ مُردہ روحوں کو حرکت میں لا رہا ہے۔ وہاں دنیا کے تمام رئیس اور اقوام کے تمام بادشاہ اپنے تختوں سے کھڑے ہو کر تیرا استقبال کریں گے۔

Hell from beneath is moved for thee to meet thee at thy coming: it stirreth up the dead for thee, even all the chief ones of the earth; it hath raised up from their thrones all the kings of the nations.

سب مل کر تجھ سے کہیں گے، ’اب تُو بھی ہم جیسا کمزور ہو گیا ہے، تُو بھی ہمارے برابر ہو گیا ہے!‘

All they shall speak and say unto thee, Art thou also become weak as we? art thou become like unto us?

تیری تمام شان و شوکت پاتال میں اُتر گئی ہے، تیرے ستار خاموش ہو گئے ہیں۔ اب کیڑے تیرا گدّا اور کیچوے تیرا کمبل ہوں گے۔

Thy pomp is brought down to the grave, and the noise of thy viols: the worm is spread under thee, and the worms cover thee.

اے ستارۂ صبح، اے ابنِ سحر، تُو آسمان سے کس طرح گر گیا ہے! جس نے دیگر ممالک کو شکست دی تھی وہ اب خود پاش پاش ہو گیا ہے۔

How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! how art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations!

دل میں تُو نے کہا، ’مَیں آسمان پر چڑھ کر اپنا تخت اللہ کے ستاروں کے اوپر لگا لوں گا، مَیں انتہائی شمال میں اُس پہاڑ پر جہاں دیوتا جمع ہوتے ہیں تخت نشین ہوں گا۔

For thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north:

مَیں بادلوں کی بلندیوں پر چڑھ کر قادرِ مطلق کے بلکل برابر ہو جاؤں گا۔‘

I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the most High.

لیکن تجھے تو پاتال میں اُتارا جائے گا، اُس کے سب سے گہرے گڑھے میں گرایا جائے گا۔

Yet thou shalt be brought down to hell, to the sides of the pit.

جو بھی تجھ پر نظر ڈالے گا وہ غور سے دیکھ کر پوچھے گا، ’کیا یہی وہ آدمی ہے جس نے زمین کو ہلا دیا، جس کے سامنے دیگر ممالک کانپ اُٹھے؟

They that see thee shall narrowly look upon thee, and consider thee, saying, Is this the man that made the earth to tremble, that did shake kingdoms;

کیا اِسی نے دنیا کو ویران کر دیا اور اُس کے شہروں کو ڈھا کر قیدیوں کو گھر واپس جانے کی اجازت نہ دی؟‘

That made the world as a wilderness, and destroyed the cities thereof; that opened not the house of his prisoners?

دیگر ممالک کے تمام بادشاہ بڑی عزت کے ساتھ اپنے اپنے مقبروں میں پڑے ہوئے ہیں۔

All the kings of the nations, even all of them, lie in glory, every one in his own house.

لیکن تجھے اپنی قبر سے دُور کسی بےکار کونپل کی طرح پھینک دیا جائے گا۔ تجھے مقتولوں سے ڈھانکا جائے گا، اُن سے جن کو تلوار سے چھیدا گیا ہے، جو پتھریلے گڑھوں میں اُتر گئے ہیں۔ تُو پاؤں تلے روندی ہوئی لاش جیسا ہو گا،

But thou art cast out of thy grave like an abominable branch, and as the raiment of those that are slain, thrust through with a sword, that go down to the stones of the pit; as a carcase trodden under feet.

اور تدفین کے وقت تُو دیگر بادشاہوں سے جا نہیں ملے گا۔ کیونکہ تُو نے اپنے ملک کو تباہ اور اپنی قوم کو ہلاک کر دیا ہے۔ چنانچہ اب سے ابد تک اِن بےدینوں کی اولاد کا ذکر تک نہیں کیا جائے گا۔

Thou shalt not be joined with them in burial, because thou hast destroyed thy land, and slain thy people: the seed of evildoers shall never be renowned.

اِس آدمی کے بیٹوں کو پھانسی دینے کی جگہ تیار کرو! کیونکہ اُن کے باپ دادا کا قصور اِتنا سنگین ہے کہ اُنہیں مرنا ہی ہے۔ ایسا نہ ہو کہ وہ دوبارہ اُٹھ کر دنیا پر قبضہ کر لیں، کہ رُوئے زمین اُن کے شہروں سے بھر جائے۔“

Prepare slaughter for his children for the iniquity of their fathers; that they do not rise, nor possess the land, nor fill the face of the world with cities.

رب الافواج فرماتا ہے، ”مَیں اُن کے خلاف یوں اُٹھوں گا کہ بابل کا نام و نشان تک نہیں رہے گا۔ مَیں اُس کی اولاد کو رُوئے زمین پر سے مٹا دوں گا، اور ایک بھی نہیں بچنے کا۔

For I will rise up against them, saith the LORD of hosts, and cut off from Babylon the name, and remnant, and son, and nephew, saith the LORD.

بابل خارپُشت کا مسکن اور دلدل کا علاقہ بن جائے گا، کیونکہ مَیں خود اُس میں تباہی کا جھاڑو پھیر دوں گا۔“ یہ رب الافواج کا فرمان ہے۔

I will also make it a possession for the bittern, and pools of water: and I will sweep it with the besom of destruction, saith the LORD of hosts.

رب الافواج نے قَسم کھا کر فرمایا ہے، ”یقیناً سب کچھ میرے منصوبے کے مطابق ہی ہو گا، میرا ارادہ ضرور پورا ہو جائے گا۔

The LORD of hosts hath sworn, saying, Surely as I have thought, so shall it come to pass; and as I have purposed, so shall it stand:

مَیں اسور کو اپنے ملک میں چِکنا چُور کر دوں گا اور اُسے اپنے پہاڑوں پر کچل ڈالوں گا۔ تب اُس کا جوا میری قوم پر سے دُور ہو جائے گا، اور اُس کا بوجھ اُس کے کندھوں پر سے اُتر جائے گا۔“

That I will break the Assyrian in my land, and upon my mountains tread him under foot: then shall his yoke depart from off them, and his burden depart from off their shoulders.

پوری دنیا کے بارے میں یہ منصوبہ اٹل ہے، اور رب اپنا ہاتھ تمام قوموں کے خلاف بڑھا چکا ہے۔

This is the purpose that is purposed upon the whole earth: and this is the hand that is stretched out upon all the nations.

رب الافواج نے فیصلہ کر لیا ہے، تو کون اِسے منسوخ کرے گا؟ اُس نے اپنا ہاتھ بڑھا دیا ہے، تو کون اُسے روکے گا؟

For the LORD of hosts hath purposed, and who shall disannul it? and his hand is stretched out, and who shall turn it back?

ذیل کا کلام اُس سال نازل ہوا جب آخز بادشاہ نے وفات پائی۔

In the year that king Ahaz died was this burden.

اے تمام فلستی ملک، اِس پر خوشی مت منا کہ ہمیں مارنے والی لاٹھی ٹوٹ گئی ہے۔ کیونکہ سانپ کی بچی ہوئی جڑ سے زہریلا سانپ پھوٹ نکلے گا، اور اُس کا پھل شعلہ فشاں اُڑن اژدہا ہو گا۔

Rejoice not thou, whole Palestina, because the rod of him that smote thee is broken: for out of the serpent's root shall come forth a cockatrice, and his fruit shall be a fiery flying serpent.

تب ضرورت مندوں کو چراگاہ ملے گی، اور غریب محفوظ جگہ پر آرام کریں گے۔ لیکن تیری جڑ کو مَیں کال سے مار دوں گا، اور جو بچ جائیں اُنہیں بھی ہلاک کر دوں گا۔

And the firstborn of the poor shall feed, and the needy shall lie down in safety: and I will kill thy root with famine, and he shall slay thy remnant.

اے شہر کے دروازے، واویلا کر! اے شہر، زور سے چیخیں مار! اے فلستیو، ہمت ہار کر لڑکھڑاتے جاؤ۔ کیونکہ شمال سے تمہاری طرف دھواں بڑھ رہا ہے، اور اُس کی صفوں میں پیچھے رہنے والا کوئی نہیں ہے۔

Howl, O gate; cry, O city; thou, whole Palestina, art dissolved: for there shall come from the north a smoke, and none shall be alone in his appointed times.

تو پھر ہمارے پاس بھیجے ہوئے قاصدوں کو ہم کیا جواب دیں؟ یہ کہ رب نے صیون کو قائم رکھا ہے، کہ اُس کی قوم کے مظلوم اُسی میں پناہ لیں گے۔

What shall one then answer the messengers of the nation? That the LORD hath founded Zion, and the poor of his people shall trust in it.
