Micah 5

Now gather thyself in troops, O daughter of troops: he hath laid siege against us: they shall smite the judge of Israel with a rod upon the cheek.

اے شہر جس پر حملہ ہو رہا ہے، اب اپنے آپ کو چھری سے زخمی کر، کیونکہ ہمارا محاصرہ ہو رہا ہے۔ دشمن لاٹھی سے اسرائیل کے حکمران کے گال پر مارے گا۔

But thou, Beth–lehem Ephratah, though thou be little among the thousands of Judah, yet out of thee shall he come forth unto me that is to be ruler in Israel; whose goings forth have been from of old, from everlasting.

لیکن تُو، اے بیت لحم اِفراتہ، جو یہوداہ کے دیگر خاندانوں کی نسبت چھوٹا ہے، تجھ میں سے وہ نکلے گا جو اسرائیل کا حکمران ہو گا اور جو قدیم زمانے بلکہ ازل سے صادر ہوا ہے۔

Therefore will he give them up, until the time that she which travaileth hath brought forth: then the remnant of his brethren shall return unto the children of Israel.

لیکن جب تک حاملہ عورت اُسے جنم نہ دے، اُس وقت تک رب اپنی قوم کو دشمن کے حوالے چھوڑے گا۔ لیکن پھر اُس کے بھائیوں کا بچا ہوا حصہ اسرائیلیوں کے پاس واپس آئے گا۔

And he shall stand and feed in the strength of the LORD, in the majesty of the name of the LORD his God; and they shall abide: for now shall he be great unto the ends of the earth.

یہ حکمران کھڑے ہو کر رب کی قوت کے ساتھ اپنے ریوڑ کی گلہ بانی کرے گا۔ اُسے رب اپنے خدا کے نام کا عظیم اختیار حاصل ہو گا۔ تب قوم سلامتی سے بسے گی، کیونکہ اُس کی عظمت دنیا کی انتہا تک پھیلے گی۔

And this man shall be the peace, when the Assyrian shall come into our land: and when he shall tread in our palaces, then shall we raise against him seven shepherds, and eight principal men.

وہی سلامتی کا منبع ہو گا۔ جب اسور کی فوج ہمارے ملک میں داخل ہو کر ہمارے محلوں میں گھس آئے تو ہم اُس کے خلاف سات چرواہے اور آٹھ رئیس کھڑے کریں گے

And they shall waste the land of Assyria with the sword, and the land of Nimrod in the entrances thereof: thus shall he deliver us from the Assyrian, when he cometh into our land, and when he treadeth within our borders.

جو تلوار سے ملکِ اسور کی گلہ بانی کریں گے، ہاں تلوار کو میان سے کھینچ کر نمرود کے ملک پر حکومت کریں گے۔ یوں حکمران ہمیں اسور سے بچائے گا جب یہ ہمارے ملک اور ہماری سرحد میں گھس آئے گا۔

And the remnant of Jacob shall be in the midst of many people as a dew from the LORD, as the showers upon the grass, that tarrieth not for man, nor waiteth for the sons of men.

تب یعقوب کے جتنے لوگ بچ کر متعدد اقوام کے بیچ میں رہیں گے وہ رب کی بھیجی ہوئی اوس یا ہریالی پر پڑنے والی بارش کی مانند ہوں گے یعنی ایسی چیزوں کی مانند جو نہ کسی انسان کے انتظار میں رہتی، نہ کسی انسان کے حکم پر پڑتی ہیں۔

And the remnant of Jacob shall be among the Gentiles in the midst of many people as a lion among the beasts of the forest, as a young lion among the flocks of sheep: who, if he go through, both treadeth down, and teareth in pieces, and none can deliver.

یعقوب کے جتنے لوگ بچ کر متعدد اقوام کے بیچ میں رہیں گے وہ جنگلی جانوروں کے درمیان شیرببر اور بھیڑبکریوں کے بیچ میں جوان شیر کی مانند ہوں گے یعنی ایسے جانور کی مانند جو جہاں سے بھی گزرے جانوروں کو روند کر پھاڑ لیتا ہے۔ اُس کے ہاتھ سے کوئی بچا نہیں سکتا۔

Thine hand shall be lifted up upon thine adversaries, and all thine enemies shall be cut off.

تیرا ہاتھ تیرے تمام مخالفوں پر فتح پائے گا، تیرے تمام دشمن نیست و نابود ہو جائیں گے۔

And it shall come to pass in that day, saith the LORD, that I will cut off thy horses out of the midst of thee, and I will destroy thy chariots:

رب فرماتا ہے، ”اُس دن مَیں تیرے گھوڑوں کو نیست اور تیرے رتھوں کو نابود کروں گا۔

And I will cut off the cities of thy land, and throw down all thy strong holds:

مَیں تیرے ملک کے شہروں کو خاک میں ملا کر تیرے تمام قلعوں کو گرا دوں گا۔

And I will cut off witchcrafts out of thine hand; and thou shalt have no more soothsayers:

تیری جادوگری کو مَیں مٹا ڈالوں گا، قسمت کا حال بتانے والے تیرے بیچ میں نہیں رہیں گے۔

Thy graven images also will I cut off, and thy standing images out of the midst of thee; and thou shalt no more worship the work of thine hands.

تیرے بُت اور تیرے مخصوص ستونوں کو مَیں یوں تباہ کروں گا کہ تُو آئندہ اپنے ہاتھ کی بنائی ہوئی چیزوں کی پوجا نہیں کرے گا۔

And I will pluck up thy groves out of the midst of thee: so will I destroy thy cities.

تیرے اسیرت دیوی کے کھمبے مَیں اُکھاڑ کر تیرے شہروں کو مسمار کروں گا۔

And I will execute vengeance in anger and fury upon the heathen, such as they have not heard.

اُس وقت مَیں بڑے غصے سے اُن قوموں سے انتقام لوں گا جنہوں نے میری نہیں سنی۔“
