Jeremiah 46

The word of the LORD which came to Jeremiah the prophet against the Gentiles;

یرمیاہ پر مختلف قوموں کے بارے میں بھی پیغامات نازل ہوئے۔ یہ ذیل میں درج ہیں۔

Against Egypt, against the army of Pharaoh–necho king of Egypt, which was by the river Euphrates in Carchemish, which Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon smote in the fourth year of Jehoiakim the son of Josiah king of Judah.

پہلا پیغام مصر کے بارے میں ہے۔ یہوداہ کے بادشاہ یہویقیم بن یوسیاہ کے چوتھے سال میں شاہِ بابل نبوکدنضر نے دریائے فرات پر واقع شہر کرکِمیس کے پاس مصری فوج کو شکست دی تھی۔ اُن دنوں میں مصری بادشاہ نکوہ فرعون کی فوج کے بارے میں رب کا کلام نازل ہوا،

Order ye the buckler and shield, and draw near to battle.

”اپنی بڑی اور چھوٹی ڈھالیں تیار کر کے جنگ کے لئے نکلو!

Harness the horses; and get up, ye horsemen, and stand forth with your helmets; furbish the spears, and put on the brigandines.

گھوڑوں کو رتھوں میں جوتو! دیگر گھوڑوں پر سوار ہو جاؤ! خود پہن کر کھڑے ہو جاؤ! اپنے نیزوں کو روغن سے چمکا کر زرہ بکتر پہن لو!

Wherefore have I seen them dismayed and turned away back? and their mighty ones are beaten down, and are fled apace, and look not back: for fear was round about, saith the LORD.

لیکن مجھے کیا نظر آ رہا ہے؟ مصری فوجیوں پر دہشت طاری ہوئی ہے۔ وہ پیچھے ہٹ رہے ہیں، اُن کے سورماؤں نے ہتھیار ڈال دیئے ہیں۔ وہ بھاگ بھاگ کر فرار ہو رہے ہیں اور پیچھے بھی نہیں دیکھتے۔ رب فرماتا ہے کہ چاروں طرف دہشت ہی دہشت پھیل گئی ہے۔

Let not the swift flee away, nor the mighty man escape; they shall stumble, and fall toward the north by the river Euphrates.

کسی کو بھی بچنے نہ دو، خواہ وہ کتنی تیزی سے کیوں نہ بھاگ رہا ہو یا کتنا زبردست فوجی کیوں نہ ہو۔ شمال میں دریائے فرات کے کنارے ہی وہ ٹھو کر کھا کر گر گئے ہیں۔

Who is this that cometh up as a flood, whose waters are moved as the rivers?

یہ کیا ہے جو دریائے نیل کی طرح چڑھ رہا ہے، جو سیلاب بن کر سب کچھ غرق کر رہا ہے؟

Egypt riseth up like a flood, and his waters are moved like the rivers; and he saith, I will go up, and will cover the earth; I will destroy the city and the inhabitants thereof.

مصر دریائے نیل کی طرح چڑھ رہا ہے، وہی سیلاب بن کر سب کچھ غرق کر رہا ہے۔ وہ کہتا ہے، ’مَیں چڑھ کر پوری زمین کو غرق کر دوں گا۔ مَیں شہروں کو اُن کے باشندوں سمیت تباہ کروں گا۔‘

Come up, ye horses; and rage, ye chariots; and let the mighty men come forth; the Ethiopians and the Libyans, that handle the shield; and the Lydians, that handle and bend the bow.

اے گھوڑو، دشمن پر ٹوٹ پڑو! اے رتھو، دیوانوں کی طرح دوڑو! اے فوجیو، لڑنے کے لئے نکلو! اے ایتھوپیا اور لبیا کے سپاہیو، اپنی ڈھالیں پکڑ کر چلو، اے لُدیہ کے تیر چلانے والو، اپنے کمان تان کر آگے بڑھو!

For this is the day of the Lord GOD of hosts, a day of vengeance, that he may avenge him of his adversaries: and the sword shall devour, and it shall be satiate and made drunk with their blood: for the Lord GOD of hosts hath a sacrifice in the north country by the river Euphrates.

لیکن آج قادرِ مطلق، رب الافواج کا ہی دن ہے۔ انتقام کے اِس دن وہ اپنے دشمنوں سے بدلہ لے گا۔ اُس کی تلوار اُنہیں کھا کھا کر سیر ہو جائے گی، اور اُن کا خون پی پی کر اُس کی پیاس بجھے گی۔ کیونکہ شمال میں دریائے فرات کے کنارے اُنہیں قادرِ مطلق، رب الافواج کو قربان کیا جائے گا۔

Go up into Gilead, and take balm, O virgin, the daughter of Egypt: in vain shalt thou use many medicines; for thou shalt not be cured.

اے کنواری مصر بیٹی، ملکِ جِلعاد میں جا کر اپنے زخموں کے لئے بلسان خرید لے۔ لیکن کیا فائدہ؟ خواہ تُو کتنی دوائی کیوں نہ استعمال کرے تیری چوٹیں بھر ہی نہیں سکتیں!

The nations have heard of thy shame, and thy cry hath filled the land: for the mighty man hath stumbled against the mighty, and they are fallen both together.

تیری شرمندگی کی خبر دیگر اقوام میں پھیل گئی ہے، تیری چیخیں پوری دنیا میں گونج رہی ہیں۔ کیونکہ تیرے سورمے ایک دوسرے سے ٹھو کر کھا کر گر گئے ہیں۔“

The word that the LORD spake to Jeremiah the prophet, how Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon should come and smite the land of Egypt.

جب شاہِ بابل نبوکدنضر مصر پر حملہ کرنے آیا تو رب اِس کے بارے میں یرمیاہ سے ہم کلام ہوا،

Declare ye in Egypt, and publish in Migdol, and publish in Noph and in Tahpanhes: say ye, Stand fast, and prepare thee; for the sword shall devour round about thee.

”مصری شہروں مجدال، میمفِس اور تحفن حیس میں اعلان کرو، ’جنگ کی تیاریاں کر کے لڑنے کے لئے کھڑے ہو جاؤ! کیونکہ تلوار تمہارے آس پاس سب کچھ کھا رہی ہے۔‘

Why are thy valiant men swept away? they stood not, because the LORD did drive them.

اے مصر، تیرے سورماؤں کو خاک میں کیوں ملایا گیا ہے؟ وہ کھڑے نہیں رہ سکتے، کیونکہ رب نے اُنہیں دبا دیا ہے۔

He made many to fall, yea, one fell upon another: and they said, Arise, and let us go again to our own people, and to the land of our nativity, from the oppressing sword.

اُس نے متعدد افراد کو ٹھوکر کھانے دیا، اور وہ ایک دوسرے پر گر گئے۔ اُنہوں نے کہا، ’آؤ، ہم اپنی ہی قوم اور اپنے وطن میں واپس چلے جائیں جہاں ظالم کی تلوار ہم تک نہیں پہنچ سکتی۔‘

They did cry there, Pharaoh king of Egypt is but a noise; he hath passed the time appointed.

وہاں وہ پکار اُٹھے، ’مصر کا بادشاہ شور تو بہت مچاتا ہے لیکن اِس کے پیچھے کچھ بھی نہیں۔ جو سنہرا موقع اُسے ملا وہ جاتا رہا ہے‘۔“

As I live, saith the King, whose name is the LORD of hosts, Surely as Tabor is among the mountains, and as Carmel by the sea, so shall he come.

دنیا کا بادشاہ جس کا نام رب الافواج ہے فرماتا ہے، ”میری حیات کی قَسم، جو تم پر حملہ کرنے آ رہا ہے وہ دوسروں سے اُتنا بڑا ہے جتنا تبور دیگر پہاڑوں سے اور کرمل سمندر سے اونچا ہے۔

O thou daughter dwelling in Egypt, furnish thyself to go into captivity: for Noph shall be waste and desolate without an inhabitant.

اے مصر کے باشندو، اپنا مال و اسباب باندھ کر جلاوطن ہونے کی تیاریاں کرو۔ کیونکہ میمفِس مسمار ہو کر نذرِ آتش ہو جائے گا۔ اُس میں کوئی نہیں رہے گا۔

Egypt is like a very fair heifer, but destruction cometh; it cometh out of the north.

مصر خوب صورت سی جوان گائے ہے، لیکن شمال سے مہلک مکھی آ کر اُس پر دھاوا بول رہی ہے۔ ہاں، وہ آ رہی ہے۔

Also her hired men are in the midst of her like fatted bullocks; for they also are turned back, and are fled away together: they did not stand, because the day of their calamity was come upon them, and the time of their visitation.

مصری فوج کے بھاڑے کے فوجی موٹے تازے بچھڑے ہیں، لیکن وہ بھی مُڑ کر فرار ہو جائیں گے۔ ایک بھی قائم نہیں رہے گا۔ کیونکہ آفت کا دن اُن پر آنے والا ہے، وہ وقت جب اُنہیں پوری سزا ملے گی۔

The voice thereof shall go like a serpent; for they shall march with an army, and come against her with axes, as hewers of wood.

مصر سانپ کی طرح پھنکارتے ہوئے پیچھے ہٹ جائے گا جب دشمن کے فوجی پورے زور سے اُس پر حملہ کریں گے، جب وہ لکڑہاروں کی طرح اپنی کلہاڑیاں پکڑے ہوئے اُس پر ٹوٹ پڑیں گے۔“

They shall cut down her forest, saith the LORD, though it cannot be searched; because they are more than the grasshoppers, and are innumerable.

رب فرماتا ہے، ”تب وہ مصر کا جنگل کاٹ ڈالیں گے، گو وہ کتنا گھنا کیوں نہ ہو۔ کیونکہ اُن کی تعداد ٹڈیوں سے زیادہ ہو گی بلکہ وہ اَن گنت ہوں گے۔

The daughter of Egypt shall be confounded; she shall be delivered into the hand of the people of the north.

مصر بیٹی کی بےعزتی کی جائے گی، اُسے شمالی قوم کے حوالے کیا جائے گا۔“

The LORD of hosts, the God of Israel, saith; Behold, I will punish the multitude of No, and Pharaoh, and Egypt, with their gods, and their kings; even Pharaoh, and all them that trust in him:

رب الافواج جو اسرائیل کا خدا ہے فرماتا ہے، ”مَیں تھیبس شہر کے دیوتا آمون، فرعون اور تمام مصر کو اُس کے دیوتاؤں اور بادشاہوں سمیت سزا دوں گا۔ ہاں، مَیں فرعون اور اُس پر اعتماد رکھنے والے تمام لوگوں کی عدالت کروں گا۔“

And I will deliver them into the hand of those that seek their lives, and into the hand of Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon, and into the hand of his servants: and afterward it shall be inhabited, as in the days of old, saith the LORD.

رب فرماتا ہے، ”مَیں اُنہیں اُن کے جانی دشمنوں کے حوالے کر دوں گا، اور وہ شاہِ بابل نبوکدنضر اور اُس کے افسروں کے قابو میں آ جائیں گے۔ لیکن بعد میں مصر پہلے کی طرح دوبارہ آباد ہو جائے گا۔

But fear not thou, O my servant Jacob, and be not dismayed, O Israel: for, behold, I will save thee from afar off, and thy seed from the land of their captivity; and Jacob shall return, and be in rest and at ease, and none shall make him afraid.

جہاں تک تیرا تعلق ہے، اے یعقوب میرے خادم، خوف مت کھا! اے اسرائیل، حوصلہ مت ہار! دیکھ، مَیں تجھے دُوردراز ملک سے چھٹکارا دوں گا۔ تیری اولاد کو مَیں اُس ملک سے نجات دوں گا جہاں اُسے جلاوطن کیا گیا ہے۔ پھر یعقوب واپس آ کر آرام و سکون کی زندگی گزارے گا۔ کوئی نہیں ہو گا جو اُسے ہیبت زدہ کرے۔“

Fear thou not, O Jacob my servant, saith the LORD: for I am with thee; for I will make a full end of all the nations whither I have driven thee: but I will not make a full end of thee, but correct thee in measure; yet will I not leave thee wholly unpunished.

رب فرماتا ہے، ”اے یعقوب میرے خادم، خوف نہ کھا، کیونکہ مَیں تیرے ساتھ ہوں۔ مَیں اُن تمام قوموں کو نیست و نابود کر دوں گا جن میں مَیں نے تجھے منتشر کر دیا ہے، لیکن تجھے مَیں اِس طرح صفحۂ ہستی سے نہیں مٹاؤں گا۔ البتہ مَیں مناسب حد تک تیری تنبیہ کروں گا، کیونکہ مَیں تجھے سزا دیئے بغیر نہیں چھوڑ سکتا۔“
