Jeremiah 47

The word of the LORD that came to Jeremiah the prophet against the Philistines, before that Pharaoh smote Gaza.

فرعون کے غزہ شہر پر حملہ کرنے سے پہلے یرمیاہ نبی پر فلستیوں کے بارے میں رب کا کلام نازل ہوا،

Thus saith the LORD; Behold, waters rise up out of the north, and shall be an overflowing flood, and shall overflow the land, and all that is therein; the city, and them that dwell therein: then the men shall cry, and all the inhabitants of the land shall howl.

”رب فرماتا ہے کہ شمال سے پانی آ رہا ہے جو سیلاب بن کر پورے ملک کو غرق کر دے گا۔ پورا ملک شہروں اور باشندوں سمیت اُس میں ڈوب جائے گا۔ لوگ چیخ اُٹھیں گے، اور ملک کے تمام باشندے آہ و زاری کریں گے۔

At the noise of the stamping of the hoofs of his strong horses, at the rushing of his chariots, and at the rumbling of his wheels, the fathers shall not look back to their children for feebleness of hands;

کیونکہ سرپٹ دوڑتے ہوئے گھوڑوں کی ٹاپیں سنائی دیں گی، دشمن کے رتھوں کا شور اور پہیوں کی گڑگڑاہٹ اُن کے کانوں تک پہنچے گی۔ باپ خوف زدہ ہو کر یوں ساکت ہو جائیں گے کہ وہ اپنے بچوں کی مدد کرنے کے لئے پیچھے بھی دیکھ نہیں سکیں گے۔

Because of the day that cometh to spoil all the Philistines, and to cut off from Tyrus and Zidon every helper that remaineth: for the LORD will spoil the Philistines, the remnant of the country of Caphtor.

کیونکہ وہ دن آنے والا ہے جب تمام فلستیوں کو نیست و نابود کیا جائے گا تاکہ صور اور صیدا کے آخری مدد کرنے والے بھی ختم ہو جائیں۔ کیونکہ رب فلستیوں کو صفحۂ ہستی سے مٹانے والا ہے، جزیرۂ کریتے کے اُن بچے ہوؤں کو جو یہاں آ کر آباد ہوئے ہیں۔

Baldness is come upon Gaza; Ashkelon is cut off with the remnant of their valley: how long wilt thou cut thyself?

غزہ بیٹی ماتم کے عالم میں اپنا سر منڈوائے گی، اسقلون شہر तूबलمسمار ہو جائے گا۔ اے میدانی علاقے کے بچے ہوئے لوگو، تم کب تک اپنی جِلد کو زخمی کرتے رہو گے؟

O thou sword of the LORD, how long will it be ere thou be quiet? put up thyself into thy scabbard, rest, and be still.

’ہائے، اے رب کی تلوار، کیا تُو کبھی نہیں آرام کرے گی؟ دوبارہ اپنے میان میں چھپ جا! خاموش ہو کر آرام کر!‘

How can it be quiet, seeing the LORD hath given it a charge against Ashkelon, and against the sea shore? there hath he appointed it.

لیکن وہ کس طرح آرام کر سکتی ہے جب رب نے خود اُسے چلایا ہے، جب اُسی نے اُسے اسقلون اور ساحلی علاقے پر دھاوا بولنے کا حکم دیا ہے؟“
