Jeremiah 45

The word that Jeremiah the prophet spake unto Baruch the son of Neriah, when he had written these words in a book at the mouth of Jeremiah, in the fourth year of Jehoiakim the son of Josiah king of Judah, saying,

یہوداہ کے بادشاہ یہویقیم بن یوسیاہ کی حکومت کے چوتھے سال میں یرمیاہ نبی کو باروک بن نیریاہ کے لئے رب کا پیغام ملا۔ اُس وقت یرمیاہ باروک سے وہ تمام باتیں لکھوا رہا تھا جو اُس پر نازل ہوئی تھیں۔ یرمیاہ نے کہا،

Thus saith the LORD, the God of Israel, unto thee, O Baruch;

”اے باروک، رب اسرائیل کا خدا تیرے بارے میں فرماتا ہے

Thou didst say, Woe is me now! for the LORD hath added grief to my sorrow; I fainted in my sighing, and I find no rest.

کہ تُو کہتا ہے، ’ہائے، مجھ پر افسوس! رب نے میرے درد میں اضافہ کر دیا ہے، اب مجھے رنج و الم بھی سہنا پڑتا ہے۔ مَیں کراہتے کراہتے تھک گیا ہوں۔ کہیں بھی آرام و سکون نہیں ملتا۔‘

Thus shalt thou say unto him, The LORD saith thus; Behold, that which I have built will I break down, and that which I have planted I will pluck up, even this whole land.

اے باروک، رب جواب میں فرماتا ہے کہ جو کچھ مَیں نے خود تعمیر کیا اُسے مَیں گرا دوں گا، جو پودا مَیں نے خود لگایا اُسے جڑ سے اُکھاڑ دوں گا۔ پورے ملک کے ساتھ ایسا ہی سلوک کروں گا۔

And seekest thou great things for thyself? seek them not: for, behold, I will bring evil upon all flesh, saith the LORD: but thy life will I give unto thee for a prey in all places whither thou goest.

تو پھر تُو اپنے لئے کیوں بڑی کامیابی حاصل کرنے کا آرزومند ہے؟ ایسا خیال چھوڑ دے، کیونکہ مَیں تمام انسانوں پر آفت لا رہا ہوں۔ یہ رب کا فرمان ہے۔ لیکن جہاں بھی تُو جائے وہاں مَیں ہونے دوں گا کہ تیری جان چھوٹ جائے ۔“
