Jeremiah 32

The word that came to Jeremiah from the LORD in the tenth year of Zedekiah king of Judah, which was the eighteenth year of Nebuchadrezzar.

یہوداہ کے بادشاہ صِدقیاہ کی حکومت کے دسویں سال میں رب یرمیاہ سے ہم کلام ہوا۔ اُس وقت نبوکدنضر جو 18 سال سے بابل کا بادشاہ تھا

For then the king of Babylon's army besieged Jerusalem: and Jeremiah the prophet was shut up in the court of the prison, which was in the king of Judah's house.

اپنی فوج کے ساتھ یروشلم کا محاصرہ کر رہا تھا۔ یرمیاہ اُن دنوں میں شاہی محل کے محافظوں کے صحن میں قید تھا۔

For Zedekiah king of Judah had shut him up, saying, Wherefore dost thou prophesy, and say, Thus saith the LORD, Behold, I will give this city into the hand of the king of Babylon, and he shall take it;

صِدقیاہ نے یہ کہہ کر اُسے گرفتار کیا تھا، ”تُو کیوں اِس قسم کی پیش گوئی سناتا ہے؟ تُو کہتا ہے، ’رب فرماتا ہے کہ مَیں اِس شہر کو شاہِ بابل کے ہاتھ میں دینے والا ہوں۔ جب وہ اُس پر قبضہ کرے گا

And Zedekiah king of Judah shall not escape out of the hand of the Chaldeans, but shall surely be delivered into the hand of the king of Babylon, and shall speak with him mouth to mouth, and his eyes shall behold his eyes;

تو صِدقیاہ بابل کی فوج سے نہیں بچے گا۔ اُسے شاہِ بابل کے حوالے کر دیا جائے گا، اور وہ اُس کے رُوبرُو اُس سے بات کرے گا، اپنی آنکھوں سے اُسے دیکھے گا۔

And he shall lead Zedekiah to Babylon, and there shall he be until I visit him, saith the LORD: though ye fight with the Chaldeans, ye shall not prosper.

شاہِ بابل صِدقیاہ کو بابل لے جائے گا، اور وہاں وہ اُس وقت تک رہے گا جب تک مَیں اُسے دوبارہ قبول نہ کروں۔ رب فرماتا ہے کہ اگر تم بابل کی فوج سے لڑو تو ناکام رہو گے‘۔“

And Jeremiah said, The word of the LORD came unto me, saying,

جب رب کا کلام یرمیاہ پر نازل ہوا تو یرمیاہ نے کہا، ”رب مجھ سے ہم کلام ہوا،

Behold, Hanameel the son of Shallum thine uncle shall come unto thee, saying, Buy thee my field that is in Anathoth: for the right of redemption is thine to buy it.

’تیرا چچا زاد بھائی حنم ایل بن سلّوم تیرے پاس آ کر کہے گا کہ عنتوت میں میرا کھیت خرید لیں۔ آپ سب سے قریبی رشتے دار ہیں، اِس لئے اُسے خریدنا آپ کا حق بلکہ فرض بھی ہے تاکہ زمین ہمارے خاندان کی ملکیت رہے ۔‘

So Hanameel mine uncle's son came to me in the court of the prison according to the word of the LORD, and said unto me, Buy my field, I pray thee, that is in Anathoth, which is in the country of Benjamin: for the right of inheritance is thine, and the redemption is thine; buy it for thyself. Then I knew that this was the word of the LORD.

ایسا ہی ہوا جس طرح رب نے فرمایا تھا۔ میرا چچا زاد بھائی حنم ایل شاہی محافظوں کے صحن میں آیا اور مجھ سے کہا، ’بن یمین کے قبیلے کے شہر عنتوت میں میرا کھیت خرید لیں۔ یہ کھیت خریدنا آپ کا موروثی حق بلکہ فرض بھی ہے تاکہ زمین ہمارے خاندان کی ملکیت رہے۔ آئیں، اُسے خرید لیں!‘ تب مَیں نے جان لیا کہ یہ وہی بات ہے جو رب نے فرمائی تھی۔

And I bought the field of Hanameel my uncle's son, that was in Anathoth, and weighed him the money, even seventeen shekels of silver.

چنانچہ مَیں نے اپنے چچا زاد بھائی حنم ایل سے عنتوت کا کھیت خرید کر اُسے چاندی کے 17 سِکے دے دیئے۔

And I subscribed the evidence, and sealed it, and took witnesses, and weighed him the money in the balances.

مَیں نے انتقال نامہ لکھ کر اُس پر مُہر لگائی، پھر چاندی کے سِکے تول کر اپنے بھائی کو دے دیئے۔ مَیں نے گواہ بھی بُلائے تھے تاکہ وہ پوری کارروائی کی تصدیق کریں۔

So I took the evidence of the purchase, both that which was sealed according to the law and custom, and that which was open:

اِس کے بعد مَیں نے مُہرشدہ انتقال نامہ تمام شرائط اور قواعد سمیت باروک بن نیریاہ بن محسیاہ کے سپرد کر دیا۔ ساتھ ساتھ مَیں نے اُسے ایک نقل بھی دی جس پر مُہر نہیں لگی تھی۔ حنم ایل، انتقال نامے پر دست خط کرنے والے گواہ اور صحن میں حاضر باقی ہم وطن سب اِس کے گواہ تھے۔

And I gave the evidence of the purchase unto Baruch the son of Neriah, the son of Maaseiah, in the sight of Hanameel mine uncle's son, and in the presence of the witnesses that subscribed the book of the purchase, before all the Jews that sat in the court of the prison.

اِس کے بعد مَیں نے مُہرشدہ انتقال نامہ تمام شرائط اور قواعد سمیت باروک بن نیریاہ بن محسیاہ کے سپرد کر دیا۔ ساتھ ساتھ مَیں نے اُسے ایک نقل بھی دی جس پر مُہر نہیں لگی تھی۔ حنم ایل، انتقال نامے پر دست خط کرنے والے گواہ اور صحن میں حاضر باقی ہم وطن سب اِس کے گواہ تھے۔

And I charged Baruch before them, saying,

اُن کے دیکھتے دیکھتے مَیں نے باروک کو ہدایت دی،

Thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; Take these evidences, this evidence of the purchase, both which is sealed, and this evidence which is open; and put them in an earthen vessel, that they may continue many days.

’رب الافواج جو اسرائیل کا خدا ہے فرماتا ہے کہ مُہرشدہ انتقال نامہ اور اُس کی نقل لے کر مٹی کے برتن میں ڈال دے تاکہ لمبے عرصے تک محفوظ رہیں۔

For thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; Houses and fields and vineyards shall be possessed again in this land.

کیونکہ رب الافواج جو اسرائیل کا خدا ہے فرماتا ہے کہ ایک وقت آئے گا جب اِس ملک میں دوبارہ گھر، کھیت اور انگور کے باغ خریدے جائیں گے۔‘

Now when I had delivered the evidence of the purchase unto Baruch the son of Neriah, I prayed unto the LORD, saying,

باروک بن نیریاہ کو انتقال نامہ دینے کے بعد مَیں نے رب سے دعا کی،

Ah Lord GOD! behold, thou hast made the heaven and the earth by thy great power and stretched out arm, and there is nothing too hard for thee:

’اے رب قادرِ مطلق، تُو نے اپنا ہاتھ بڑھا کر بڑی قدرت سے آسمان و زمین کو بنایا، تیرے لئے کوئی بھی کام ناممکن نہیں۔

Thou shewest lovingkindness unto thousands, and recompensest the iniquity of the fathers into the bosom of their children after them: the Great, the Mighty God, the LORD of hosts, is his name,

تُو ہزاروں پر شفقت کرتا اور ساتھ ساتھ بچوں کو اُن کے والدین کے گناہوں کی سزا دیتا ہے۔ اے عظیم اور قادر خدا جس کا نام رب الافواج ہے،

Great in counsel, and mighty in work: for thine eyes are open upon all the ways of the sons of men: to give every one according to his ways, and according to the fruit of his doings:

تیرے مقاصد عظیم اور تیرے کام زبردست ہیں، تیری آنکھیں انسان کی تمام راہوں کو دیکھتی رہتی ہیں۔ تُو ہر ایک کو اُس کے چال چلن اور اعمال کا مناسب اجر دیتا ہے۔

Which hast set signs and wonders in the land of Egypt, even unto this day, and in Israel, and among other men; and hast made thee a name, as at this day;

مصر میں تُو نے الٰہی نشان اور معجزے دکھائے، اور تیرا یہ سلسلہ آج تک جاری رہا ہے، اسرائیل میں بھی اور باقی قوموں میں بھی۔ یوں تیرے نام کو وہ عزت و جلال ملا جو تجھے آج تک حاصل ہے۔

And hast brought forth thy people Israel out of the land of Egypt with signs, and with wonders, and with a strong hand, and with a stretched out arm, and with great terror;

تُو الٰہی نشان اور معجزے دکھا کر اپنی قوم اسرائیل کو مصر سے نکال لایا۔ تُو نے اپنا ہاتھ بڑھا کر اپنی عظیم قدرت مصریوں پر ظاہر کی تو اُن پر شدید دہشت طاری ہوئی۔

And hast given them this land, which thou didst swear to their fathers to give them, a land flowing with milk and honey;

تب تُو نے اپنی قوم کو یہ ملک بخش دیا جس میں دودھ اور شہد کی کثرت تھی اور جس کا وعدہ تُو نے قَسم کھا کر اُن کے باپ دادا سے کیا تھا۔

And they came in, and possessed it; but they obeyed not thy voice, neither walked in thy law; they have done nothing of all that thou commandedst them to do: therefore thou hast caused all this evil to come upon them:

لیکن جب ہمارے باپ دادا نے ملک میں داخل ہو کر اُس پر قبضہ کیا تو اُنہوں نے نہ تیری سنی، نہ تیری شریعت کے مطابق زندگی گزاری۔ جو کچھ بھی تُو نے اُنہیں کرنے کو کہا تھا اُس پر اُنہوں نے عمل نہ کیا۔ نتیجے میں تُو اُن پر یہ آفت لایا۔

Behold the mounts, they are come unto the city to take it; and the city is given into the hand of the Chaldeans, that fight against it, because of the sword, and of the famine, and of the pestilence: and what thou hast spoken is come to pass; and, behold, thou seest it.

دشمن مٹی کے پُشتے بنا کر فصیل کے قریب پہنچ چکا ہے۔ ہم تلوار، کال اور مہلک بیماریوں سے اِتنے کمزور ہو گئے ہیں کہ جب بابل کی فوج شہر پر حملہ کرے گی تو وہ اُس کے قبضے میں آئے گا۔ جو کچھ بھی تُو نے فرمایا تھا وہ پیش آیا ہے۔ تُو خود اِس کا گواہ ہے۔

And thou hast said unto me, O Lord GOD, Buy thee the field for money, and take witnesses; for the city is given into the hand of the Chaldeans.

لیکن اے رب قادرِ مطلق، کمال ہے کہ گو شہر کو بابل کی فوج کے حوالے کیا جائے گا توبھی تُو مجھ سے ہم کلام ہوا ہے کہ چاندی دے کر کھیت خرید لے اور گواہوں سے کارروائی کی تصدیق کروا‘۔“

Then came the word of the LORD unto Jeremiah, saying,

تب رب کا کلام یرمیاہ پر نازل ہوا،

Behold, I am the LORD, the God of all flesh: is there any thing too hard for me?

”دیکھ، مَیں رب اور تمام انسانوں کا خدا ہوں۔ تو پھر کیا کوئی کام ہے جو مجھ سے نہیں ہو سکتا؟“

Therefore thus saith the LORD; Behold, I will give this city into the hand of the Chaldeans, and into the hand of Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon, and he shall take it:

چنانچہ رب فرماتا ہے، ”مَیں اِس شہر کو بابل اور اُس کے بادشاہ نبوکدنضر کے حوالے کر دوں گا۔ وہ ضرور اُس پر قبضہ کرے گا۔

And the Chaldeans, that fight against this city, shall come and set fire on this city, and burn it with the houses, upon whose roofs they have offered incense unto Baal, and poured out drink offerings unto other gods, to provoke me to anger.

بابل کے جو فوجی اِس شہر پر حملہ کر رہے ہیں اِس میں گھس کر سب کچھ جلا دیں گے، سب کچھ نذرِ آتش کریں گے۔ تب وہ تمام گھر راکھ ہو جائیں گے جن کی چھتوں پر لوگوں نے بعل دیوتا کے لئے بخور جلا کر اور اجنبی معبودوں کو مَے کی نذریں پیش کر کے مجھے طیش دلایا۔“

For the children of Israel and the children of Judah have only done evil before me from their youth: for the children of Israel have only provoked me to anger with the work of their hands, saith the LORD.

رب فرماتا ہے، ”اسرائیل اور یہوداہ کے قبیلے جوانی سے لے کر آج تک وہی کچھ کرتے آئے ہیں جو مجھے ناپسند ہے۔ اپنے ہاتھوں کے کام سے وہ مجھے بار بار غصہ دلاتے رہے ہیں۔

For this city hath been to me as a provocation of mine anger and of my fury from the day that they built it even unto this day; that I should remove it from before my face,

یروشلم کی بنیادیں ڈالنے سے لے کر آج تک اِس شہر نے مجھے حد سے زیادہ مشتعل کر دیا ہے۔ اب لازم ہے کہ مَیں اُسے نظروں سے دُور کر دوں۔

Because of all the evil of the children of Israel and of the children of Judah, which they have done to provoke me to anger, they, their kings, their princes, their priests, and their prophets, and the men of Judah, and the inhabitants of Jerusalem.

کیونکہ اسرائیل اور یہوداہ کے باشندوں نے اپنی بُری حرکتوں سے مجھے طیش دلایا ہے، خواہ بادشاہ ہو یا ملازم، خواہ امام ہو یا نبی، خواہ یہوداہ ہو یا یروشلم۔

And they have turned unto me the back, and not the face: though I taught them, rising up early and teaching them, yet they have not hearkened to receive instruction.

اُنہوں نے اپنا منہ مجھ سے پھیر کر میری طرف رجوع کرنے سے انکار کیا ہے۔ گو مَیں اُنہیں بار بار تعلیم دیتا رہا توبھی وہ سننے یا میری تربیت قبول کرنے کے لئے تیار نہیں تھے۔

But they set their abominations in the house, which is called by my name, to defile it.

نہ صرف یہ بلکہ جس گھر پر میرے نام کا ٹھپا لگا ہے اُس میں اُنہوں نے اپنے گھنونے بُتوں کو رکھ کر اُس کی بےحرمتی کی ہے۔

And they built the high places of Baal, which are in the valley of the son of Hinnom, to cause their sons and their daughters to pass through the fire unto Molech; which I commanded them not, neither came it into my mind, that they should do this abomination, to cause Judah to sin.

وادیِ بن ہنوم کی اونچی جگہوں پر اُنہوں نے بعل دیوتا کی قربان گاہیں تعمیر کیں تاکہ وہاں اپنے بیٹے بیٹیوں کو مَلِک دیوتا کے لئے قربان کریں۔ مَیں نے اُنہیں ایسی قابلِ گھن حرکتیں کرنے کا حکم نہیں دیا تھا، بلکہ مجھے اِس کا خیال تک نہیں آیا۔ یوں اُنہوں نے یہوداہ کو گناہ کرنے پر اُکسایا ہے۔

And now therefore thus saith the LORD, the God of Israel, concerning this city, whereof ye say, It shall be delivered into the hand of the king of Babylon by the sword, and by the famine, and by the pestilence;

اِس وقت تم کہہ رہے ہو، ’یہ شہر ضرور شاہِ بابل کے قبضے میں آ جائے گا، کیونکہ تلوار، کال اور مہلک بیماریوں نے ہمیں کمزور کر دیا ہے۔‘ لیکن اب شہر کے بارے میں رب کا فرمان سنو، جو اسرائیل کا خدا ہے!

Behold, I will gather them out of all countries, whither I have driven them in mine anger, and in my fury, and in great wrath; and I will bring them again unto this place, and I will cause them to dwell safely:

بےشک مَیں بڑے طیش میں آ کر شہر کے باشندوں کو مختلف ممالک میں منتشر کر دوں گا، لیکن مَیں اُنہیں اُن جگہوں سے پھر جمع کر کے واپس بھی لاؤں گا تاکہ وہ دوبارہ یہاں سکون کے ساتھ رہ سکیں۔

And they shall be my people, and I will be their God:

تب وہ میری قوم ہوں گے، اور مَیں اُن کا خدا ہوں گا۔

And I will give them one heart, and one way, that they may fear me for ever, for the good of them, and of their children after them:

مَیں ہونے دوں گا کہ وہ سوچ اور چال چلن میں ایک ہو کر ہر وقت میرا خوف مانیں گے۔ کیونکہ اُنہیں معلوم ہو گا کہ ایسا کرنے سے ہمیں اور ہماری اولاد کو برکت ملے گی۔

And I will make an everlasting covenant with them, that I will not turn away from them, to do them good; but I will put my fear in their hearts, that they shall not depart from me.

مَیں اُن کے ساتھ ابدی عہد باندھ کر وعدہ کروں گا کہ اُن پر شفقت کرنے سے باز نہیں آؤں گا۔ ساتھ ساتھ مَیں اپنا خوف اُن کے دلوں میں ڈال دوں گا تاکہ وہ مجھ سے دُور نہ ہو جائیں۔

Yea, I will rejoice over them to do them good, and I will plant them in this land assuredly with my whole heart and with my whole soul.

اُنہیں برکت دینا میرے لئے خوشی کا باعث ہو گا، اور مَیں وفاداری اور پورے دل و جان سے اُنہیں پنیری کی طرح اِس ملک میں دوبارہ لگا دوں گا۔“

For thus saith the LORD; Like as I have brought all this great evil upon this people, so will I bring upon them all the good that I have promised them.

کیونکہ رب فرماتا ہے، ”مَیں ہی نے یہ بڑی آفت اِس قوم پر نازل کی، اور مَیں ہی اُنہیں اُن تمام برکتوں سے نوازوں گا جن کا وعدہ مَیں نے کیا ہے۔

And fields shall be bought in this land, whereof ye say, It is desolate without man or beast; it is given into the hand of the Chaldeans.

بےشک تم اِس وقت کہتے ہو، ’ہائے، ہمارا ملک ویران و سنسان ہے، اُس میں نہ انسان اور نہ حیوان رہ گیا ہے، کیونکہ سب کچھ بابل کے حوالے کر دیا گیا ہے۔‘ لیکن مَیں فرماتا ہوں کہ پورے ملک میں دوبارہ کھیت خریدے

Men shall buy fields for money, and subscribe evidences, and seal them, and take witnesses in the land of Benjamin, and in the places about Jerusalem, and in the cities of Judah, and in the cities of the mountains, and in the cities of the valley, and in the cities of the south: for I will cause their captivity to return, saith the LORD.

اور فروخت کئے جائیں گے۔ لوگ معمول کے مطابق انتقال نامے لکھ کر اُن پر مُہر لگائیں گے اور کارروائی کی تصدیق کے لئے گواہ بُلائیں گے۔ تمام علاقے یعنی بن یمین کے قبائلی علاقے میں، یروشلم کے دیہات میں، یہوداہ اور پہاڑی علاقے کے شہروں میں، مغرب کے نشیبی پہاڑی علاقے کے شہروں میں اور دشتِ نجب کے شہروں میں ایسا ہی کیا جائے گا۔ مَیں خود اُن کی بدنصیبی ختم کروں گا۔“ یہ رب کا فرمان ہے۔
