Jeremiah 33

Moreover the word of the LORD came unto Jeremiah the second time, while he was yet shut up in the court of the prison, saying,

یرمیاہ اب تک شاہی محافظوں کے صحن میں گرفتار تھا کہ رب ایک بار پھر اُس سے ہم کلام ہوا،

Thus saith the LORD the maker thereof, the LORD that formed it, to establish it; the LORD is his name;

”جو سب کچھ خلق کرتا، تشکیل دیتا اور قائم رکھتا ہے اُس کا نام رب ہے۔ یہی رب فرماتا ہے،

Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and shew thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not.

مجھے پکار تو مَیں تجھے جواب میں ایسی عظیم اور ناقابلِ فہم باتیں بیان کروں گا جو تُو نہیں جانتا۔

For thus saith the LORD, the God of Israel, concerning the houses of this city, and concerning the houses of the kings of Judah, which are thrown down by the mounts, and by the sword;

کیونکہ رب جو اسرائیل کا خدا ہے فرماتا ہے کہ تم نے اِس شہر کے مکانوں بلکہ چند ایک شاہی مکانوں کو بھی ڈھا دیا ہے تاکہ اُن کے پتھروں اور لکڑی سے فصیل کو مضبوط کرو اور شہر کو دشمن کے پُشتوں اور تلوار سے بچائے رکھو۔

They come to fight with the Chaldeans, but it is to fill them with the dead bodies of men, whom I have slain in mine anger and in my fury, and for all whose wickedness I have hid my face from this city.

گو تم بابل کی فوج سے لڑنا چاہتے ہو، لیکن شہر کے گھر اسرائیلیوں کی لاشوں سے بھر جائیں گے۔ کیونکہ اُن ہی پر مَیں اپنا غضب نازل کروں گا۔ یروشلم کی تمام بےدینی کے باعث مَیں نے اپنا منہ اُس سے چھپا لیا ہے۔

Behold, I will bring it health and cure, and I will cure them, and will reveal unto them the abundance of peace and truth.

لیکن بعد میں مَیں اُسے شفا دے کر تندرستی بخشوں گا، مَیں اُس کے باشندوں کو صحت عطا کروں گا اور اُن پر دیرپا سلامتی اور وفاداری کا اظہار کروں گا۔

And I will cause the captivity of Judah and the captivity of Israel to return, and will build them, as at the first.

کیونکہ مَیں یہوداہ اور اسرائیل کو بحال کر کے اُنہیں ویسے تعمیر کروں گا جیسے پہلے تھے۔

And I will cleanse them from all their iniquity, whereby they have sinned against me; and I will pardon all their iniquities, whereby they have sinned, and whereby they have transgressed against me.

مَیں اُنہیں اُن کی تمام بےدینی سے پاک صاف کر کے اُن کی تمام سرکشی اور تمام گناہوں کو معاف کر دوں گا۔

And it shall be to me a name of joy, a praise and an honour before all the nations of the earth, which shall hear all the good that I do unto them: and they shall fear and tremble for all the goodness and for all the prosperity that I procure unto it.

تب یروشلم پوری دنیا میں میرے لئے مسرت، شہرت، تعریف اور جلال کا باعث بنے گا۔ دنیا کے تمام ممالک میری اُس پر مہربانی دیکھ کر متاثر ہو جائیں گے۔ وہ گھبرا کر کانپ اُٹھیں گے جب اُنہیں پتا چلے گا کہ مَیں نے یروشلم کو کتنی برکت اور سکون مہیا کیا ہے۔

Thus saith the LORD; Again there shall be heard in this place, which ye say shall be desolate without man and without beast, even in the cities of Judah, and in the streets of Jerusalem, that are desolate, without man, and without inhabitant, and without beast,

تم کہتے ہو، ’ہمارا شہر ویران و سنسان ہے۔ اُس میں نہ انسان، نہ حیوان رہتے ہیں۔‘ لیکن رب فرماتا ہے کہ یروشلم اور یہوداہ کے دیگر شہروں کی جو گلیاں اِس وقت ویران اور انسان و حیوان سے خالی ہیں،

The voice of joy, and the voice of gladness, the voice of the bridegroom, and the voice of the bride, the voice of them that shall say, Praise the LORD of hosts: for the LORD is good; for his mercy endureth for ever: and of them that shall bring the sacrifice of praise into the house of the LORD. For I will cause to return the captivity of the land, as at the first, saith the LORD.

اُن میں دوبارہ خوشی و شادمانی، دُولھے دُلھن کی آواز اور رب کے گھر میں شکرگزاری کی قربانیاں پہنچانے والوں کے گیت سنائی دیں گے۔ اُس وقت وہ گائیں گے، ’رب الافواج کا شکر کرو، کیونکہ رب بھلا ہے، اور اُس کی شفقت ابدی ہے۔‘ کیونکہ مَیں اِس ملک کو پہلے کی طرح بحال کر دوں گا۔ یہ رب کا فرمان ہے۔

Thus saith the LORD of hosts; Again in this place, which is desolate without man and without beast, and in all the cities thereof, shall be an habitation of shepherds causing their flocks to lie down.

رب الافواج فرماتا ہے کہ فی الحال یہ مقام ویران اور انسان و حیوان سے خالی ہے۔ لیکن آئندہ یہاں اور باقی تمام شہروں میں دوبارہ ایسی چراگاہیں ہوں گی جہاں گلہ بان اپنے ریوڑوں کو چَرائیں گے۔

In the cities of the mountains, in the cities of the vale, and in the cities of the south, and in the land of Benjamin, and in the places about Jerusalem, and in the cities of Judah, shall the flocks pass again under the hands of him that telleth them, saith the LORD.

تب پورے ملک میں چرواہے اپنے ریوڑوں کو گنتے اور سنبھالتے ہوئے نظر آئیں گے، خواہ پہاڑی علاقے کے شہروں یا مغرب کے نشیبی پہاڑی علاقے میں دیکھو، خواہ دشتِ نجب یا بن یمین کے قبائلی علاقے میں معلوم کرو، خواہ یروشلم کے دیہات یا یہوداہ کے باقی شہروں میں دریافت کرو۔ یہ رب کا فرمان ہے۔

Behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will perform that good thing which I have promised unto the house of Israel and to the house of Judah.

رب فرماتا ہے کہ ایسا وقت آنے والا ہے جب مَیں وہ اچھا وعدہ پورا کروں گا جو مَیں نے اسرائیل کے گھرانے اور یہوداہ کے گھرانے سے کیا ہے۔

In those days, and at that time, will I cause the Branch of righteousness to grow up unto David; and he shall execute judgment and righteousness in the land.

اُس وقت مَیں داؤد کی نسل سے ایک راست باز کونپل پھوٹنے دوں گا، اور وہی ملک میں انصاف اور راستی قائم کرے گا۔

In those days shall Judah be saved, and Jerusalem shall dwell safely: and this is the name wherewith she shall be called, The LORD our righteousness.

اُن دنوں میں یہوداہ کو چھٹکارا ملے گا اور یروشلم پُرامن زندگی گزارے گا۔ تب یروشلم ’رب ہماری راستی‘ کہلائے گا۔

For thus saith the LORD; David shall never want a man to sit upon the throne of the house of Israel;

کیونکہ رب فرماتا ہے کہ اسرائیل کے تخت پر بیٹھنے والا ہمیشہ ہی داؤد کی نسل کا ہو گا۔

Neither shall the priests the Levites want a man before me to offer burnt offerings, and to kindle meat offerings, and to do sacrifice continually.

اِسی طرح رب کے گھر میں خدمت گزار امام ہمیشہ ہی لاوی کے قبیلے کے ہوں گے۔ وہی متواتر میرے حضور بھسم ہونے والی قربانیاں اور غلہ اور ذبح کی قربانیاں پیش کریں گے۔“

And the word of the LORD came unto Jeremiah, saying,

رب ایک بار پھر یرمیاہ سے ہم کلام ہوا،

Thus saith the LORD; If ye can break my covenant of the day, and my covenant of the night, and that there should not be day and night in their season;

”رب فرماتا ہے کہ مَیں نے دن اور رات سے عہد باندھا ہے کہ وہ مقررہ وقت پر اور ترتیب وار گزریں۔ کوئی اِس عہد کو توڑ نہیں سکتا۔

Then may also my covenant be broken with David my servant, that he should not have a son to reign upon his throne; and with the Levites the priests, my ministers.

اِسی طرح مَیں نے اپنے خادم داؤد سے بھی عہد باندھ کر وعدہ کیا کہ اسرائیل کا بادشاہ ہمیشہ اُسی کی نسل کا ہو گا۔ نیز، مَیں نے لاوی کے اماموں سے بھی عہد باندھ کر وعدہ کیا کہ رب کے گھر میں خدمت گزار امام ہمیشہ لاوی کے قبیلے کے ہی ہوں گے۔ رات اور دن سے بندھے ہوئے عہد کی طرح اِن عہدوں کو بھی توڑا نہیں جا سکتا۔

As the host of heaven cannot be numbered, neither the sand of the sea measured: so will I multiply the seed of David my servant, and the Levites that minister unto me.

مَیں اپنے خادم داؤد کی اولاد اور اپنے خدمت گزار لاویوں کو ستاروں اور سمندر کی ریت جیسا بےشمار بنا دوں گا۔“

Moreover the word of the LORD came to Jeremiah, saying,

رب یرمیاہ سے ایک بار پھر ہم کلام ہوا،

Considerest thou not what this people have spoken, saying, The two families which the LORD hath chosen, he hath even cast them off? thus they have despised my people, that they should be no more a nation before them.

”کیا تجھے لوگوں کی باتیں معلوم نہیں ہوئیں؟ یہ کہہ رہے ہیں، ’گو رب نے اسرائیل اور یہوداہ کو چن کر اپنی قوم بنا لیا تھا، لیکن اب اُس نے دونوں کو رد کر دیا ہے۔‘ یوں وہ میری قوم کو حقیر جانتے ہیں بلکہ اِسے اب سے قوم ہی نہیں سمجھتے۔“

Thus saith the LORD; If my covenant be not with day and night, and if I have not appointed the ordinances of heaven and earth;

لیکن رب فرماتا ہے، ”جو عہد مَیں نے دن اور رات سے باندھا ہے وہ مَیں نہیں توڑوں گا، نہ کبھی آسمان و زمین کے مقررہ اصول منسوخ کروں گا۔

Then will I cast away the seed of Jacob, and David my servant, so that I will not take any of his seed to be rulers over the seed of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob: for I will cause their captivity to return, and have mercy on them.

اِسی طرح یہ ممکن ہی نہیں کہ مَیں یعقوب اور اپنے خادم داؤد کی اولاد کو کبھی رد کروں۔ نہیں، مَیں ہمیشہ ہی داؤد کی نسل میں سے کسی کو تخت پر بٹھاؤں گا تاکہ وہ ابراہیم، اسحاق اور یعقوب کی اولاد پر حکومت کرے، کیونکہ مَیں اُنہیں بحال کر کے اُن پر ترس کھاؤں گا۔“
