Daniel 3

Nebuchadnezzar the king made an image of gold, whose height was threescore cubits, and the breadth thereof six cubits: he set it up in the plain of Dura, in the province of Babylon.

ایک دن نبوکدنضر نے سونے کا مجسمہ بنوایا۔ اُس کی اونچائی 90 فٹ اور چوڑائی 9 فٹ تھی۔ اُس نے حکم دیا کہ بُت کو صوبہ بابل کے میدان بنام دُورا میں کھڑا کیا جائے۔

Then Nebuchadnezzar the king sent to gather together the princes, the governors, and the captains, the judges, the treasurers, the counsellors, the sheriffs, and all the rulers of the provinces, to come to the dedication of the image which Nebuchadnezzar the king had set up.

پھر اُس نے تمام صوبے داروں، گورنروں، منتظموں، مشیروں، خزانچیوں، ججوں، مجسٹریٹوں، اور صوبوں کے دیگر تمام بڑے بڑے سرکاری ملازموں کو پیغام بھیجا کہ مجسمے کی مخصوصیت کے لئے آ کر جمع ہو جاؤ۔

Then the princes, the governors, and captains, the judges, the treasurers, the counsellors, the sheriffs, and all the rulers of the provinces, were gathered together unto the dedication of the image that Nebuchadnezzar the king had set up; and they stood before the image that Nebuchadnezzar had set up.

چنانچہ سب بُت کی مخصوصیت کے لئے جمع ہو گئے۔ جب سب اُس کے سامنے کھڑے تھے

Then an herald cried aloud, To you it is commanded, O people, nations, and languages,

تو شاہی نقیب نے بلند آواز سے اعلان کیا، ”اے مختلف قوموں، اُمّتوں اور زبانوں کے لوگو، سنو! بادشاہ فرماتا ہے،

That at what time ye hear the sound of the cornet, flute, harp, sackbut, psaltery, dulcimer, and all kinds of musick, ye fall down and worship the golden image that Nebuchadnezzar the king hath set up:

’جوں ہی نرسنگا، شہنائی، سنطور، سرود، عود، بین اور دیگر تمام ساز بجیں گے تو لازم ہے کہ سب اوندھے منہ ہو کر بادشاہ کے کھڑے کئے گئے سونے کے بُت کو سجدہ کریں۔

And whoso falleth not down and worshippeth shall the same hour be cast into the midst of a burning fiery furnace.

جو بھی سجدہ نہ کرے اُسے فوراً بھڑکتی بھٹی میں پھینکا جائے گا‘۔“

Therefore at that time, when all the people heard the sound of the cornet, flute, harp, sackbut, psaltery, and all kinds of musick, all the people, the nations, and the languages, fell down and worshipped the golden image that Nebuchadnezzar the king had set up.

چنانچہ جوں ہی ساز بجنے لگے تو مختلف قوموں، اُمّتوں اور زبانوں کے تمام لوگ منہ کے بل ہو کر نبوکدنضر کے کھڑے کئے گئے بُت کو سجدہ کرنے لگے۔

Wherefore at that time certain Chaldeans came near, and accused the Jews.

اُس وقت کچھ نجومی بادشاہ کے پاس آ کر یہودیوں پر الزام لگانے لگے۔

They spake and said to the king Nebuchadnezzar, O king, live for ever.

وہ بولے، ”بادشاہ سلامت ابد تک جیتے رہیں!

Thou, O king, hast made a decree, that every man that shall hear the sound of the cornet, flute, harp, sackbut, psaltery, and dulcimer, and all kinds of musick, shall fall down and worship the golden image:

اے بادشاہ، آپ نے فرمایا، ’جوں ہی نرسنگا، شہنائی، سنطور، سرود، عود، بین اور دیگر تمام ساز بجیں گے تو لازم ہے کہ سب اوندھے منہ ہو کر بادشاہ کے کھڑے کئے گئے اِس سونے کے بُت کو سجدہ کریں۔

And whoso falleth not down and worshippeth, that he should be cast into the midst of a burning fiery furnace.

جو بھی سجدہ نہ کرے اُسے بھڑکتی بھٹی میں پھینکا جائے گا‘

There are certain Jews whom thou hast set over the affairs of the province of Babylon, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed–nego; these men, O king, have not regarded thee: they serve not thy gods, nor worship the golden image which thou hast set up.

لیکن کچھ یہودی آدمی ہیں جو آپ کی پروا ہی نہیں کرتے، حالانکہ آپ نے اُنہیں صوبہ بابل کی انتظامیہ پر مقرر کیا تھا۔ یہ آدمی بنام سدرک، میسک اور عبدنجو نہ آپ کے دیوتاؤں کی پوجا کرتے، نہ سونے کے اُس بُت کی پرستش کرتے ہیں جو آپ نے کھڑا کیا ہے۔“

Then Nebuchadnezzar in his rage and fury commanded to bring Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed–nego. Then they brought these men before the king.

یہ سن کر نبوکدنضر آپے سے باہر ہو گیا۔ اُس نے سیدھا سدرک، میسک اور عبدنجو کو بُلایا۔ جب پہنچے

Nebuchadnezzar spake and said unto them, Is it true, O Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed–nego, do not ye serve my gods, nor worship the golden image which I have set up?

تو بولا، ”اے سدرک، میسک اور عبدنجو، کیا یہ صحیح ہے کہ نہ تم میرے دیوتاؤں کی پوجا کرتے، نہ میرے کھڑے کئے گئے مجسمے کی پرستش کرتے ہو؟

Now if ye be ready that at what time ye hear the sound of the cornet, flute, harp, sackbut, psaltery, and dulcimer, and all kinds of musick, ye fall down and worship the image which I have made; well: but if ye worship not, ye shall be cast the same hour into the midst of a burning fiery furnace; and who is that God that shall deliver you out of my hands?

مَیں تمہیں ایک آخری موقع دیتا ہوں۔ ساز دوبارہ بجیں گے تو تمہیں منہ کے بل ہو کر میرے بنوائے ہوئے مجسمے کو سجدہ کرنا ہے۔ اگر تم ایسا نہ کرو تو تمہیں سیدھا بھڑکتی بھٹی میں پھینکا جائے گا۔ تب کون سا خدا تمہیں میرے ہاتھ سے بچا سکے گا؟“

Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed–nego, answered and said to the king, O Nebuchadnezzar, we are not careful to answer thee in this matter.

سدرک، میسک اور عبدنجو نے جواب دیا، ”اے نبوکدنضر، اِس معاملے میں ہمیں اپنا دفاع کرنے کی ضرورت نہیں ہے۔

If it be so, our God whom we serve is able to deliver us from the burning fiery furnace, and he will deliver us out of thine hand, O king.

جس خدا کی خدمت ہم کرتے ہیں وہ ہمیں بچا سکتا ہے، خواہ ہمیں بھڑکتی بھٹی میں کیوں نہ پھینکا جائے۔ اے بادشاہ، وہ ہمیں ضرور آپ کے ہاتھ سے بچائے گا۔

But if not, be it known unto thee, O king, that we will not serve thy gods, nor worship the golden image which thou hast set up.

لیکن اگر وہ ہمیں نہ بھی بچائے توبھی آپ کو معلوم ہو کہ نہ ہم آپ کے دیوتاؤں کی پوجا کریں گے، نہ آپ کے کھڑے کئے گئے سونے کے مجسمے کی پرستش کریں گے۔“

Then was Nebuchadnezzar full of fury, and the form of his visage was changed against Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed–nego: therefore he spake, and commanded that they should heat the furnace one seven times more than it was wont to be heated.

یہ سن کر نبوکدنضر آگ بگولا ہو گیا۔ سدرک، میسک اور عبدنجو کے سامنے اُس کا چہرہ بگڑ گیا اور اُس نے حکم دیا کہ بھٹی کو معمول کی نسبت سات گُنا زیادہ گرم کیا جائے۔

And he commanded the most mighty men that were in his army to bind Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed–nego, and to cast them into the burning fiery furnace.

پھر اُس نے کہا کہ بہترین فوجیوں میں سے چند ایک سدرک، میسک اور عبدنجو کو باندھ کر بھڑکتی بھٹی میں پھینک دیں۔

Then these men were bound in their coats, their hosen, and their hats, and their other garments, and were cast into the midst of the burning fiery furnace.

تینوں کو باندھ کر بھڑکتی بھٹی میں پھینکا گیا۔ اُن کے چوغے، پاجامے اور ٹوپیاں اُتاری نہ گئیں۔

Therefore because the king's commandment was urgent, and the furnace exceeding hot, the flame of the fire slew those men that took up Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed–nego.

چونکہ بادشاہ نے بھٹی کو گرم کرنے پر خاص زور دیا تھا اِس لئے آگ اِتنی تیز ہوئی کہ جو فوجی سدرک، میسک اور عبدنجو کو لے کر بھٹی کے منہ تک چڑھ گئے وہ فوراً نذرِ آتش ہو گئے۔

And these three men, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed–nego, fell down bound into the midst of the burning fiery furnace.

اُن کے قیدی بندھی ہوئی حالت میں شعلہ زن آگ میں گر گئے۔

Then Nebuchadnezzar the king was astonied, and rose up in haste, and spake, and said unto his counsellors, Did not we cast three men bound into the midst of the fire? They answered and said unto the king, True, O king.

اچانک نبوکدنضر بادشاہ چونک اُٹھا۔ اُس نے اُچھل کر اپنے مشیروں سے پوچھا، ”ہم نے تو تین آدمیوں کو باندھ کر بھٹی میں پھینکوایا کہ نہیں؟“ اُنہوں نے جواب دیا، ”جی، اے بادشاہ۔“

He answered and said, Lo, I see four men loose, walking in the midst of the fire, and they have no hurt; and the form of the fourth is like the Son of God.

وہ بولا، ”تو پھر یہ کیا ہے؟ مجھے چار آدمی آگ میں اِدھر اُدھر پھرتے ہوئے نظر آ رہے ہیں۔ نہ وہ بندھے ہوئے ہیں، نہ اُنہیں نقصان پہنچ رہا ہے۔ چوتھا آدمی دیوتاؤں کا بیٹا سا لگ رہا ہے۔“

Then Nebuchadnezzar came near to the mouth of the burning fiery furnace, and spake, and said, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed–nego, ye servants of the most high God, come forth, and come hither. Then Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed–nego, came forth of the midst of the fire.

نبوکدنضر جلتی ہوئی بھٹی کے منہ کے قریب گیا اور پکارا، ”اے سدرک، میسک اور عبدنجو، اے اللہ تعالیٰ کے بندو، نکل آؤ! اِدھر آؤ۔“ تب سدرک، میسک اور عبدنجو آگ سے نکل آئے۔

And the princes, governors, and captains, and the king's counsellors, being gathered together, saw these men, upon whose bodies the fire had no power, nor was an hair of their head singed, neither were their coats changed, nor the smell of fire had passed on them.

صوبے دار، گورنر، منتظم اور شاہی مشیر اُن کے گرد جمع ہوئے تو دیکھا کہ آگ نے اُن کے جسموں کو نقصان نہیں پہنچایا۔ بالوں میں سے ایک بھی جُھلس نہیں گیا تھا، نہ اُن کے لباس آگ سے متاثر ہوئے تھے۔ آگ اور دھوئیں کی بُو تک نہیں تھی۔

Then Nebuchadnezzar spake, and said, Blessed be the God of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed–nego, who hath sent his angel, and delivered his servants that trusted in him, and have changed the king's word, and yielded their bodies, that they might not serve nor worship any god, except their own God.

تب نبوکدنضر بولا، ”سدرک، میسک اور عبدنجو کے خدا کی تمجید ہو جس نے اپنے فرشتے کو بھیج کر اپنے بندوں کو بچایا۔ اُنہوں نے اُس پر بھروسا رکھ کر بادشاہ کے حکم کی نافرمانی کی۔ اپنے خدا کے سوا کسی اَور کی خدمت یا پرستش کرنے سے پہلے وہ اپنی جان کو دینے کے لئے تیار تھے۔

Therefore I make a decree, That every people, nation, and language, which speak any thing amiss against the God of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed–nego, shall be cut in pieces, and their houses shall be made a dunghill: because there is no other God that can deliver after this sort.

چنانچہ میرا حکم سنو! سدرک، میسک اور عبدنجو کے خدا کے خلاف کفر بکنا تمام قوموں، اُمّتوں اور زبانوں کے افراد کے لئے سخت منع ہے۔ جو بھی ایسا کرے اُسے ٹکڑے ٹکڑے کر دیا جائے گا اور اُس کے گھر کو کچرے کا ڈھیر بنایا جائے گا۔ کیونکہ کوئی بھی دیوتا اِس طرح نہیں بچا سکتا۔“

Then the king promoted Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed–nego, in the province of Babylon.

پھر بادشاہ نے تینوں آدمیوں کو صوبہ بابل میں سرفراز کیا۔
