II Chronicles 11

And when Rehoboam was come to Jerusalem, he gathered of the house of Judah and Benjamin an hundred and fourscore thousand chosen men, which were warriors, to fight against Israel, that he might bring the kingdom again to Rehoboam.

جب رحبعام یروشلم پہنچا تو اُس نے یہوداہ اور بن یمین کے قبیلوں کے چیدہ چیدہ فوجیوں کو اسرائیل سے جنگ کرنے کے لئے بُلایا۔ 1,80,000 مرد جمع ہوئے تاکہ رحبعام کے لئے اسرائیل پر دوبارہ قابو پائیں۔

But the word of the LORD came to Shemaiah the man of God, saying,

لیکن عین اُس وقت مردِ خدا سمعیاہ کو رب کی طرف سے پیغام ملا،

Speak unto Rehoboam the son of Solomon, king of Judah, and to all Israel in Judah and Benjamin, saying,

”یہوداہ کے بادشاہ رحبعام بن سلیمان اور یہوداہ اور بن یمین کے تمام افراد کو اطلاع دے،

Thus saith the LORD, Ye shall not go up, nor fight against your brethren: return every man to his house: for this thing is done of me. And they obeyed the words of the LORD, and returned from going against Jeroboam.

’رب فرماتا ہے کہ اپنے بھائیوں سے جنگ مت کرنا۔ ہر ایک اپنے اپنے گھر واپس چلا جائے، کیونکہ جو کچھ ہوا ہے وہ میرے حکم پر ہوا ہے‘۔“ تب وہ رب کی سن کر یرُبعام سے لڑنے سے باز آئے۔

And Rehoboam dwelt in Jerusalem, and built cities for defence in Judah.

رحبعام کا دار الحکومت یروشلم رہا۔ یہوداہ میں اُس نے ذیل کے شہروں کی قلعہ بندی کی:

He built even Beth–lehem, and Etam, and Tekoa,

بیت لحم، عیطام، تقوع،

And Beth–zur, and Shoco, and Adullam,

بیت صور، سوکہ، عدُلام،

And Gath, and Mareshah, and Ziph,

جات، مریسہ، زیف،

And Adoraim, and Lachish, and Azekah,

ادورائیم، لکیس، عزیقہ،

And Zorah, and Aijalon, and Hebron, which are in Judah and in Benjamin fenced cities.

صُرعہ، ایالون اور حبرون۔ یہوداہ اور بن یمین کے اِن قلعہ بند شہروں کو

And he fortified the strong holds, and put captains in them, and store of victual, and of oil and wine.

مضبوط کر کے رحبعام نے ہر شہر پر افسر مقرر کئے۔ اُن میں اُس نے خوراک، زیتون کے تیل اور مَے کا ذخیرہ کر لیا

And in every several city he put shields and spears, and made them exceeding strong, having Judah and Benjamin on his side.

اور ساتھ ساتھ اُن میں ڈھالیں اور نیزے بھی رکھے۔ اِس طرح اُس نے اُنہیں بہت مضبوط بنا کر یہوداہ اور بن یمین پر اپنی حکومت محفوظ کر لی۔

And the priests and the Levites that were in all Israel resorted to him out of all their coasts.

گو امام اور لاوی تمام اسرائیل میں بکھرے رہتے تھے توبھی اُنہوں نے رحبعام کا ساتھ دیا۔

For the Levites left their suburbs and their possession, and came to Judah and Jerusalem: for Jeroboam and his sons had cast them off from executing the priest's office unto the LORD:

اپنی چراگاہوں اور ملکیت کو چھوڑ کر وہ یہوداہ اور یروشلم میں آباد ہوئے، کیونکہ یرُبعام اور اُس کے بیٹوں نے اُنہیں امام کی حیثیت سے رب کی خدمت کرنے سے روک دیا تھا۔

And he ordained him priests for the high places, and for the devils, and for the calves which he had made.

اُن کی جگہ اُس نے اپنے ذاتی امام مقرر کئے جو اونچی جگہوں پر کے مندروں کو سنبھالتے ہوئے بکرے کے دیوتاؤں اور بچھڑے کے بُتوں کی خدمت کرتے تھے۔

And after them out of all the tribes of Israel such as set their hearts to seek the LORD God of Israel came to Jerusalem, to sacrifice unto the LORD God of their fathers.

لاویوں کی طرح تمام قبیلوں کے بہت سے ایسے لوگ یہوداہ میں منتقل ہوئے جو پورے دل سے رب اسرائیل کے خدا کے طالب رہے تھے۔ وہ یروشلم آئے تاکہ رب اپنے باپ دادا کے خدا کو قربانیاں پیش کر سکیں۔

So they strengthened the kingdom of Judah, and made Rehoboam the son of Solomon strong, three years: for three years they walked in the way of David and Solomon.

یہوداہ کی سلطنت نے ایسے لوگوں سے تقویت پائی۔ وہ رحبعام بن سلیمان کے لئے تین سال تک مضبوطی کا سبب تھے، کیونکہ تین سال تک یہوداہ داؤد اور سلیمان کے اچھے نمونے پر چلتا رہا۔

And Rehoboam took him Mahalath the daughter of Jerimoth the son of David to wife, and Abihail the daughter of Eliab the son of Jesse;

رحبعام کی شادی محلت سے ہوئی جو یریموت اور ابی خیل کی بیٹی تھی۔ یریموت داؤد کا بیٹا اور ابی خیل اِلیاب بن یسّی کی بیٹی تھی۔

Which bare him children; Jeush, and Shamariah, and Zaham.

محلت کے تین بیٹے یعوس، سمریاہ اور زہم پیدا ہوئے۔

And after her he took Maachah the daughter of Absalom; which bare him Abijah, and Attai, and Ziza, and Shelomith.

بعد میں رحبعام کی معکہ بنت ابی سلوم سے شادی ہوئی۔ اِس رشتے سے چار بیٹے ابیاہ، عتّی، زیزا اور سلومیت پیدا ہوئے۔

And Rehoboam loved Maachah the daughter of Absalom above all his wives and his concubines: (for he took eighteen wives, and threescore concubines; and begat twenty and eight sons, and threescore daughters.)

رحبعام کی 18 بیویاں اور 60 داشتائیں تھیں۔ اِن کے کُل 28 بیٹے اور 60 بیٹیاں پیدا ہوئیں۔ لیکن معکہ بنت ابی سلوم رحبعام کو سب سے زیادہ پیاری تھی۔

And Rehoboam made Abijah the son of Maachah the chief, to be ruler among his brethren: for he thought to make him king.

اُس نے معکہ کے پہلوٹھے ابیاہ کو اُس کے بھائیوں کا سربراہ بنا دیا اور مقرر کیا کہ یہ بیٹا میرے بعد بادشاہ بنے گا۔

And he dealt wisely, and dispersed of all his children throughout all the countries of Judah and Benjamin, unto every fenced city: and he gave them victual in abundance. And he desired many wives.

رحبعام نے اپنے بیٹوں سے بڑی سمجھ داری کے ساتھ سلوک کیا، کیونکہ اُس نے اُنہیں الگ الگ کر کے یہوداہ اور بن یمین کے پورے قبائلی علاقے اور تمام قلعہ بند شہروں میں بسا دیا۔ ساتھ ساتھ وہ اُنہیں کثرت کی خوراک اور بیویاں مہیا کرتا رہا۔
