I Samuel 30

And it came to pass, when David and his men were come to Ziklag on the third day, that the Amalekites had invaded the south, and Ziklag, and smitten Ziklag, and burned it with fire;

تیسرے دن جب داؤد صِقلاج پہنچا تو دیکھا کہ شہر کا ستیاناس ہو گیا ہے۔ اُن کی غیرموجودگی میں عمالیقیوں نے دشتِ نجب میں آ کر صِقلاج پر بھی حملہ کیا تھا۔ شہر کو جلا کر

And had taken the women captives, that were therein: they slew not any, either great or small, but carried them away, and went on their way.

وہ تمام باشندوں کو چھوٹوں سے لے کر بڑوں تک اپنے ساتھ لے گئے تھے۔ لیکن کوئی ہلاک نہیں ہوا تھا بلکہ وہ سب کو اپنے ساتھ لے گئے تھے۔

So David and his men came to the city, and, behold, it was burned with fire; and their wives, and their sons, and their daughters, were taken captives.

چنانچہ جب داؤد اور اُس کے آدمی واپس آئے تو دیکھا کہ شہر بھسم ہو گیا ہے اور تمام بال بچے چھن گئے ہیں۔

Then David and the people that were with him lifted up their voice and wept, until they had no more power to weep.

وہ پھوٹ پھوٹ کر رونے لگے، اِتنے روئے کہ آخرکار رونے کی سکت ہی نہ رہی۔

And David's two wives were taken captives, Ahinoam the Jezreelitess, and Abigail the wife of Nabal the Carmelite.

داؤد کی دو بیویوں اخی نوعم یزرعیلی اور ابی جیل کرملی کو بھی اسیر کر لیا گیا تھا۔

And David was greatly distressed; for the people spake of stoning him, because the soul of all the people was grieved, every man for his sons and for his daughters: but David encouraged himself in the LORD his God.

داؤد کی جان بڑے خطرے میں آ گئی، کیونکہ اُس کے مرد غم کے مارے آپس میں اُسے سنگسار کرنے کی باتیں کرنے لگے۔ کیونکہ بیٹے بیٹیوں کے چھن جانے کے باعث سب سخت رنجیدہ تھے۔ لیکن داؤد نے رب اپنے خدا میں پناہ لے کر تقویت پائی۔

And David said to Abiathar the priest, Ahimelech's son, I pray thee, bring me hither the ephod. And Abiathar brought thither the ephod to David.

اُس نے ابیاتر بن اخی مَلِک کو حکم دیا، ”قرعہ ڈالنے کے لئے امام کا بالاپوش لے آئیں۔“ جب امام بالاپوش لے آیا

And David enquired at the LORD, saying, Shall I pursue after this troop? shall I overtake them? And he answered him, Pursue: for thou shalt surely overtake them, and without fail recover all.

تو داؤد نے رب سے دریافت کیا، ”کیا مَیں لٹیروں کا تعاقب کروں؟ کیا مَیں اُن کو جا لوں گا؟“ رب نے جواب دیا، ”اُن کا تعاقب کر! تُو نہ صرف اُنہیں جا لے گا بلکہ اپنے لوگوں کو بچا بھی لے گا۔“

So David went, he and the six hundred men that were with him, and came to the brook Besor, where those that were left behind stayed.

تب داؤد اپنے 600 مردوں کے ساتھ روانہ ہوا۔ چلتے چلتے وہ بسور ندی کے پاس پہنچ گئے۔ 200 افراد اِتنے نڈھال ہو گئے تھے کہ وہ وہیں رُک گئے۔ باقی 400 مرد ندی کو پار کر کے آگے بڑھے۔

But David pursued, he and four hundred men: for two hundred abode behind, which were so faint that they could not go over the brook Besor.

تب داؤد اپنے 600 مردوں کے ساتھ روانہ ہوا۔ چلتے چلتے وہ بسور ندی کے پاس پہنچ گئے۔ 200 افراد اِتنے نڈھال ہو گئے تھے کہ وہ وہیں رُک گئے۔ باقی 400 مرد ندی کو پار کر کے آگے بڑھے۔

And they found an Egyptian in the field, and brought him to David, and gave him bread, and he did eat; and they made him drink water;

راستے میں اُنہیں کھلے میدان میں ایک مصری آدمی ملا اور اُسے داؤد کے پاس لا کر کچھ پانی پلایا اور کچھ روٹی،

And they gave him a piece of a cake of figs, and two clusters of raisins: and when he had eaten, his spirit came again to him: for he had eaten no bread, nor drunk any water, three days and three nights.

انجیر کی ٹکی کا ٹکڑا اور کشمش کی دو ٹکیاں کھلائیں۔ تب اُس کی جان میں جان آ گئی۔ اُسے تین دن اور رات سے نہ کھانا، نہ پانی ملا تھا۔

And David said unto him, To whom belongest thou? and whence art thou? And he said, I am a young man of Egypt, servant to an Amalekite; and my master left me, because three days agone I fell sick.

داؤد نے پوچھا، ”تمہارا مالک کون ہے، اور تم کہاں کے ہو؟“ اُس نے جواب دیا، ”مَیں مصری غلام ہوں، اور ایک عمالیقی میرا مالک ہے۔ جب مَیں سفر کے دوران بیمار ہو گیا تو اُس نے مجھے یہاں چھوڑ دیا۔ اب مَیں تین دن سے یہاں پڑا ہوں۔

We made an invasion upon the south of the Cherethites, and upon the coast which belongeth to Judah, and upon the south of Caleb; and we burned Ziklag with fire.

پہلے ہم نے کریتیوں یعنی فلستیوں کے جنوبی علاقے اور پھر یہوداہ کے علاقے پر حملہ کیا تھا، خاص کر یہوداہ کے جنوبی حصے پر جہاں کالب کی اولاد آباد ہے۔ شہر صِقلاج کو ہم نے بھسم کر دیا تھا۔“

And David said to him, Canst thou bring me down to this company? And he said, Swear unto me by God, that thou wilt neither kill me, nor deliver me into the hands of my master, and I will bring thee down to this company.

داؤد نے سوال کیا، ”کیا تم مجھے بتا سکتے ہو کہ یہ لٹیرے کس طرف گئے ہیں؟“ مصری نے جواب دیا، ”پہلے اللہ کی قَسم کھا کر وعدہ کریں کہ آپ مجھے نہ ہلاک کریں گے، نہ میرے مالک کے حوالے کریں گے۔ پھر مَیں آپ کو اُن کے پاس لے جاؤں گا۔“

And when he had brought him down, behold, they were spread abroad upon all the earth, eating and drinking, and dancing, because of all the great spoil that they had taken out of the land of the Philistines, and out of the land of Judah.

چنانچہ وہ داؤد کو عمالیقی لٹیروں کے پاس لے گیا۔ جب وہاں پہنچے تو دیکھا کہ عمالیقی اِدھر اُدھر بکھرے ہوئے بڑا جشن منا رہے ہیں۔ وہ ہر طرف کھانا کھاتے اور مَے پیتے ہوئے نظر آ رہے تھے، کیونکہ جو مال اُنہوں نے فلستیوں اور یہوداہ کے علاقے سے لُوٹ لیا تھا وہ بہت زیادہ تھا۔

And David smote them from the twilight even unto the evening of the next day: and there escaped not a man of them, save four hundred young men, which rode upon camels, and fled.

صبح سویرے جب ابھی تھوڑی روشنی تھی داؤد نے اُن پر حملہ کیا۔ لڑتے لڑتے اگلے دن کی شام ہو گئی۔ دشمن ہار گیا اور سب کے سب ہلاک ہوئے۔ صرف 400 جوان بچ گئے جو اونٹوں پر سوار ہو کر فرار ہو گئے۔

And David recovered all that the Amalekites had carried away: and David rescued his two wives.

داؤد نے سب کچھ چھڑا لیا جو عمالیقیوں نے لُوٹ لیا تھا۔ اُس کی دو بیویاں بھی صحیح سلامت مل گئیں۔

And there was nothing lacking to them, neither small nor great, neither sons nor daughters, neither spoil, nor any thing that they had taken to them: David recovered all.

نہ بچہ نہ بزرگ، نہ بیٹا نہ بیٹی، نہ مال یا کوئی اَور لُوٹی ہوئی چیز رہی جو داؤد واپس نہ لایا۔

And David took all the flocks and the herds, which they drave before those other cattle, and said, This is David's spoil.

عمالیقیوں کے گائےبَیل اور بھیڑبکریاں داؤد کا حصہ بن گئیں، اور اُس کے لوگوں نے اُنہیں اپنے ریوڑوں کے آگے آگے ہانک کر کہا، ”یہ لُوٹے ہوئے مال میں سے داؤد کا حصہ ہے۔“

And David came to the two hundred men, which were so faint that they could not follow David, whom they had made also to abide at the brook Besor: and they went forth to meet David, and to meet the people that were with him: and when David came near to the people, he saluted them.

جب داؤد اپنے آدمیوں کے ساتھ واپس آ رہا تھا تو جو 200 آدمی نڈھال ہونے کے باعث بسور ندی سے آگے نہ جا سکے وہ بھی اُن سے آملے۔ داؤد نے سلام کر کے اُن کا حال پوچھا۔

Then answered all the wicked men and men of Belial, of those that went with David, and said, Because they went not with us, we will not give them ought of the spoil that we have recovered, save to every man his wife and his children, that they may lead them away, and depart.

لیکن باقی آدمیوں میں کچھ شرارتی لوگ بڑبڑانے لگے، ”یہ ہمارے ساتھ لڑنے کے لئے آگے نہ نکلے، اِس لئے اِنہیں لُوٹے ہوئے مال کا حصہ پانے کا حق نہیں۔ بس وہ اپنے بال بچوں کو لے کر چلے جائیں۔“

Then said David, Ye shall not do so, my brethren, with that which the LORD hath given us, who hath preserved us, and delivered the company that came against us into our hand.

لیکن داؤد نے انکار کیا۔ ”نہیں، میرے بھائیو، ایسا مت کرنا! یہ سب کچھ رب کی طرف سے ہے۔ اُسی نے ہمیں محفوظ رکھ کر حملہ آور لٹیروں پر فتح بخشی۔

For who will hearken unto you in this matter? but as his part is that goeth down to the battle, so shall his part be that tarrieth by the stuff: they shall part alike.

تو پھر ہم آپ کی بات کس طرح مانیں؟ جو پیچھے رہ کر سامان کی حفاظت کر رہا تھا اُسے بھی اُتنا ہی ملے گا جتنا کہ اُسے جو دشمن سے لڑنے گیا تھا۔ ہم یہ سب کچھ برابر برابر تقسیم کریں گے۔“

And it was so from that day forward, that he made it a statute and an ordinance for Israel unto this day.

اُس وقت سے یہ اصول بن گیا۔ داؤد نے اِسے اسرائیلی قانون کا حصہ بنا دیا جو آج تک جاری ہے۔

And when David came to Ziklag, he sent of the spoil unto the elders of Judah, even to his friends, saying, Behold a present for you of the spoil of the enemies of the LORD;

صِقلاج واپس پہنچنے پر داؤد نے لُوٹے ہوئے مال کا ایک حصہ یہوداہ کے بزرگوں کے پاس بھیج دیا جو اُس کے دوست تھے۔ ساتھ ساتھ اُس نے پیغام بھیجا، ”آپ کے لئے یہ تحفہ رب کے دشمنوں سے لُوٹ لیا گیا ہے۔“

To them which were in Beth–el, and to them which were in south Ramoth, and to them which were in Jattir,

یہ تحفے اُس نے ذیل کے شہروں میں بھیج دیئے: بیت ایل، رامات نجب، یتیر،

And to them which were in Aroer, and to them which were in Siphmoth, and to them which were in Eshtemoa,

عروعیر، سِفموت، اِستموع،

And to them which were in Rachal, and to them which were in the cities of the Jerahmeelites, and to them which were in the cities of the Kenites,

رکل، حُرمہ، بورعسان، عتاک اور حبرون۔ اِس کے علاوہ اُس نے تحفے یرحمئیلیوں، قینیوں اور باقی اُن تمام شہروں کو بھیج دیئے جن میں وہ کبھی ٹھہرا تھا۔

And to them which were in Hormah, and to them which were in Chor–ashan, and to them which were in Athach,

رکل، حُرمہ، بورعسان، عتاک اور حبرون۔ اِس کے علاوہ اُس نے تحفے یرحمئیلیوں، قینیوں اور باقی اُن تمام شہروں کو بھیج دیئے جن میں وہ کبھی ٹھہرا تھا۔

And to them which were in Hebron, and to all the places where David himself and his men were wont to haunt.

رکل، حُرمہ، بورعسان، عتاک اور حبرون۔ اِس کے علاوہ اُس نے تحفے یرحمئیلیوں، قینیوں اور باقی اُن تمام شہروں کو بھیج دیئے جن میں وہ کبھی ٹھہرا تھا۔
