I John 5

Whosoever believeth that Jesus is the Christ is born of God: and every one that loveth him that begat loveth him also that is begotten of him.

جو بھی ایمان رکھتا ہے کہ عیسیٰ ہی مسیح ہے وہ اللہ سے پیدا ہو کر اُس کا فرزند بن گیا ہے۔ اور جو باپ سے محبت رکھتا ہے وہ اُس کے فرزند سے بھی محبت رکھتا ہے۔

By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God, and keep his commandments.

ہم کس طرح پہچان لیتے ہیں کہ ہم اللہ کے فرزند سے محبت رکھتے ہیں؟ اِس سے کہ ہم اللہ سے محبت رکھتے اور اُس کے احکام پر عمل کرتے ہیں۔

For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous.

کیونکہ اللہ سے محبت سے مراد یہ ہے کہ ہم اُس کے احکام پر عمل کریں۔ اور اُس کے احکام ہمارے لئے بوجھ کا باعث نہیں ہیں،

For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith.

کیونکہ جو بھی اللہ سے پیدا ہو کر اُس کا فرزند بن گیا ہے وہ دنیا پر غالب آ جاتا ہے۔ اور ہم یہ فتح اپنے ایمان کے ذریعے پاتے ہیں۔

Who is he that overcometh the world, but he that believeth that Jesus is the Son of God?

کون دنیا پر غالب آ سکتا ہے؟ صرف وہ جو ایمان رکھتا ہے کہ عیسیٰ اللہ کا فرزند ہے۔

This is he that came by water and blood, even Jesus Christ; not by water only, but by water and blood. And it is the Spirit that beareth witness, because the Spirit is truth.

عیسیٰ مسیح وہ ہے جو اپنے بپتسمے کے پانی اور اپنی موت کے خون کے ذریعے ظاہر ہوا، نہ صرف پانی کے ذریعے بلکہ پانی اور خون دونوں ہی کے ذریعے۔ اور روح القدس جو سچائی ہے اِس کی گواہی دیتا ہے۔

For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one.

کیونکہ اِس کے تین گواہ ہیں،

And there are three that bear witness in earth, the Spirit, and the water, and the blood: and these three agree in one.

روح القدس، پانی اور خون۔ اور تینوں ایک ہی بات کی تصدیق کرتے ہیں۔

If we receive the witness of men, the witness of God is greater: for this is the witness of God which he hath testified of his Son.

ہم تو انسان کی گواہی قبول کرتے ہیں، لیکن اللہ کی گواہی اِس سے کہیں افضل ہے۔ اور اللہ کی گواہی یہ ہے کہ اُس نے اپنے فرزند کی تصدیق کی ہے۔

He that believeth on the Son of God hath the witness in himself: he that believeth not God hath made him a liar; because he believeth not the record that God gave of his Son.

جو اللہ کے فرزند پر ایمان رکھتا ہے اُس کے دل میں یہ گواہی ہے۔ اور جو اللہ پر ایمان نہیں رکھتا اُس نے اُسے جھوٹا قرار دیا ہے۔ کیونکہ اُس نے وہ گواہی نہ مانی جو اللہ نے اپنے فرزند کے بارے میں دی۔

And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son.

اور گواہی یہ ہے، اللہ نے ہمیں ابدی زندگی عطا کی ہے، اور یہ زندگی اُس کے فرزند میں ہے۔

He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life.

جس کے پاس فرزند ہے اُس کے پاس زندگی ہے، اور جس کے پاس فرزند نہیں ہے اُس کے پاس زندگی بھی نہیں ہے۔

These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.

مَیں آپ کو جو اللہ کے فرزند کے نام پر ایمان رکھتے ہیں اِس لئے لکھ رہا ہوں کہ آپ جان لیں کہ آپ کو ابدی زندگی حاصل ہے۔

And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us:

ہمارا اللہ پر یہ اعتماد ہے کہ جب بھی ہم اُس کی مرضی کے مطابق کچھ مانگتے ہیں تو وہ ہماری سنتا ہے۔

And if we know that he hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of him.

اور چونکہ ہم جانتے ہیں کہ جب مانگتے ہیں تو وہ ہماری سنتا ہے اِس لئے ہم یہ علم بھی رکھتے ہیں کہ ہمیں وہ کچھ حاصل بھی ہے جو ہم نے اُس سے مانگا تھا۔

If any man see his brother sin a sin which is not unto death, he shall ask, and he shall give him life for them that sin not unto death. There is a sin unto death: I do not say that he shall pray for it.

اگر کوئی اپنے بھائی کو ایسا گناہ کرتے دیکھے جس کا انجام موت نہ ہو تو وہ دعا کرے، اور اللہ اُسے زندگی عطا کرے گا۔ مَیں اُن گناہوں کی بات کر رہا ہوں جن کا انجام موت نہیں۔ لیکن ایک ایسا گناہ بھی ہے جس کا انجام موت ہے۔ مَیں نہیں کہہ رہا کہ ایسے شخص کے لئے دعا کی جائے جس سے ایسا گناہ سرزد ہوا ہو۔

All unrighteousness is sin: and there is a sin not unto death.

ہر ناراست حرکت گناہ ہے، لیکن ہر گناہ کا انجام موت نہیں ہوتا۔

We know that whosoever is born of God sinneth not; but he that is begotten of God keepeth himself, and that wicked one toucheth him not.

ہم جانتے ہیں کہ جو اللہ سے پیدا ہو کر اُس کا فرزند بن گیا ہے وہ گناہ کرتا نہیں رہتا، کیونکہ اللہ کا فرزند ایسے شخص کو محفوظ رکھتا ہے اور ابلیس اُسے نقصان نہیں پہنچا سکتا۔

And we know that we are of God, and the whole world lieth in wickedness.

ہم جانتے ہیں کہ ہم اللہ کے فرزند ہیں اور کہ تمام دنیا ابلیس کے قبضے میں ہے۔

And we know that the Son of God is come, and hath given us an understanding, that we may know him that is true, and we are in him that is true, even in his Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God, and eternal life.

ہم جانتے ہیں کہ اللہ کا فرزند آ گیا ہے اور ہمیں سمجھ عطا کی ہے تاکہ ہم اُسے جان لیں جو حقیقی ہے۔ اور ہم اُس میں ہیں جو حقیقی ہے یعنی اُس کے فرزند عیسیٰ مسیح میں۔ وہی حقیقی خدا اور ابدی زندگی ہے۔

Little children, keep yourselves from idols. Amen.
