Isaiah 48

Hear ye this, O house of Jacob, which are called by the name of Israel, and are come forth out of the waters of Judah, which swear by the name of the LORD, and make mention of the God of Israel, but not in truth, nor in righteousness.

Ακουσατε τουτο, οικος Ιακωβ οι κληθεντες με το ονομα του Ισραηλ και εξελθοντες εκ της πηγης του Ιουδα οι ομνυοντες εις το ονομα του Κυριου και αναφεροντες τον Θεον του Ισραηλ, πλην ουχι εν αληθεια ουδε εν δικαιοσυνη.

For they call themselves of the holy city, and stay themselves upon the God of Israel; The LORD of hosts is his name.

Διοτι λαμβανουσι το ονομα αυτων εκ της πολεως της αγιας και επιστηριζονται επι τον Θεον του Ισραηλ το ονομα αυτου ειναι, Ο Κυριος των δυναμεων.

I have declared the former things from the beginning; and they went forth out of my mouth, and I shewed them; I did them suddenly, and they came to pass.

Εκτοτε ανηγγειλα τα απ αρχης και εξηλθον εκ του στοματος μου και διεκηρυξα αυτα εκαμα ταυτα αιφνιδιως και εγειναν.

Because I knew that thou art obstinate, and thy neck is an iron sinew, and thy brow brass;

Επειδη γνωριζω οτι εισαι σκληρος, και ο τραχηλος σου ειναι νευρον σιδηρουν και το μετωπον σου χαλκινον.

I have even from the beginning declared it to thee; before it came to pass I shewed it thee: lest thou shouldest say, Mine idol hath done them, and my graven image, and my molten image, hath commanded them.

Εκτοτε δε ανηγγειλα τουτο προς σε πριν γεινη διεκηρυξα τουτο εις σε, δια να μη ειπης, Το ειδωλον μου εκαμε ταυτα και το γλυπτον μου και το χυτον μου προσεταξε ταυτα.

Thou hast heard, see all this; and will not ye declare it? I have shewed thee new things from this time, even hidden things, and thou didst not know them.

Ηκουσας ιδε παντα ταυτα και δεν θελετε ομολογησει; απο τουδε διακηρυττω προς σε νεα, μαλιστα αποκεκρυμμενα, και τα οποια συ δεν ηξευρες.

They are created now, and not from the beginning; even before the day when thou heardest them not; lest thou shouldest say, Behold, I knew them.

Τωρα εγειναν και ουχι παλαιοθεν, και ουδε προ της ημερας ταυτης ηκουσας περι αυτων, δια να μη ειπης, Ιδου, εγω ηξευρον ταυτα.

Yea, thou heardest not; yea, thou knewest not; yea, from that time that thine ear was not opened: for I knew that thou wouldest deal very treacherously, and wast called a transgressor from the womb.

Ουτε ηκουσας ουτε ηξευρες ουτε απ αρχης ηνοιχθησαν τα ωτα σου διοτι ηξευρον ετι βεβαιως ηθελες φερθη απιστως και εκ κοιλιας ωνομασθης παραβατης.

For my name's sake will I defer mine anger, and for my praise will I refrain for thee, that I cut thee not off.

Ενεκεν του ονοματος μου θελω μακρυνει τον θυμον μου, και δια τον επαινον μου θελω βασταχθη προς σε, ωστε να μη σε εξολοθρευσω.

Behold, I have refined thee, but not with silver; I have chosen thee in the furnace of affliction.

Ιδου, σε εκαθαρισα, πλην ουχι ως αργυρον σε κατεστησα εκλεκτον εν τω χωνευτηριω της θλιψεως.

For mine own sake, even for mine own sake, will I do it: for how should my name be polluted? and I will not give my glory unto another.

Ενεκεν εμου, ενεκεν εμου θελω καμει τουτο διοτι πως ηθελε μολυνθη το ονομα μου; ναι, δεν θελω δωσει την δοξαν μου εις αλλον.

Hearken unto me, O Jacob and Israel, my called; I am he; I am the first, I also am the last.

Ακουσον μου, Ιακωβ, και Ισραηλ τον οποιον εγω εκαλεσα εγω αυτος ειμαι εγω ο πρωτος, εγω και ο εσχατος.

Mine hand also hath laid the foundation of the earth, and my right hand hath spanned the heavens: when I call unto them, they stand up together.

Και η χειρ μου εθεμελιωσε την γην και η δεξια μου εμετρησε με σπιθαμην τους ουρανους οταν καλω αυτους, παριστανται ομου.

All ye, assemble yourselves, and hear; which among them hath declared these things? The LORD hath loved him: he will do his pleasure on Babylon, and his arm shall be on the Chaldeans.

Συναχθητε, παντες σεις, και ακουσατε τις εκ τουτων ανηγγειλε ταυτα; Ο Κυριος ηγαπησεν αυτον οθεν θελει εκπληρωσει το θελημα αυτου επι την Βαβυλωνα και ο βραχιων αυτου θελει εισθαι επι τους Χαλδαιους.

I, even I, have spoken; yea, I have called him: I have brought him, and he shall make his way prosperous.

Εγω, εγω ελαλησα ναι, εκαλεσα αυτον εφερα αυτον και εγω θελω ευοδωσει την οδον αυτου.

Come ye near unto me, hear ye this; I have not spoken in secret from the beginning; from the time that it was, there am I: and now the Lord GOD, and his Spirit, hath sent me.

Πλησιασατε προς εμε, ακουσατε τουτο απ αρχης δεν ελαλησα εν κρυπτω αφοτου εγεινε τουτο, εγω ημην εκει και τωρα Κυριος ο Θεος απεστειλεν εμε και το πνευμα αυτου.

Thus saith the LORD, thy Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel; I am the LORD thy God which teacheth thee to profit, which leadeth thee by the way that thou shouldest go.

Ουτω λεγει Κυριος, ο Λυτρωτης σου, ο Αγιος του Ισραηλ Εγω ειμαι Κυριος ο Θεος σου, ο διδασκων σε δια την ωφελειαν σου, ο οδηγων σε δια της οδου δι ης επρεπε να υπαγης.

O that thou hadst hearkened to my commandments! then had thy peace been as a river, and thy righteousness as the waves of the sea:

Ειθε να ηκουες τα προσταγματα μου τοτε η ειρηνη σου ηθελεν εισθαι ως ποταμος και η δικαιοσυνη σου ως κυματα θαλασσης

Thy seed also had been as the sand, and the offspring of thy bowels like the gravel thereof; his name should not have been cut off nor destroyed from before me.

και το σπερμα σου ηθελεν εισθαι ως η αμμος και τα εκγονα της κοιλιας σου ως τα λιθαρια αυτης το ονομα αυτου δεν ηθελεν αποκοπη ουδε εξαλειφθη απ εμπροσθεν μου.

Go ye forth of Babylon, flee ye from the Chaldeans, with a voice of singing declare ye, tell this, utter it even to the end of the earth; say ye, The LORD hath redeemed his servant Jacob.

Εξελθετε εκ της Βαβυλωνος, φευγετε απο των Χαλδαιων, μετα φωνης αλαλαγμου αναγγειλατε, διακηρυξατε τουτο, εκφωνησατε αυτο εως εσχατου της γης, ειπατε, Ο Κυριος ελυτρωσε τον δουλον αυτου Ιακωβ.

And they thirsted not when he led them through the deserts: he caused the waters to flow out of the rock for them: he clave the rock also, and the waters gushed out.

Και δεν εδιψησαν, οτε ωδηγει αυτους δια της ερημου εκαμε να �ευσωσι δι αυτους υδατα εκ πετρας και εσχισε την πετραν και τα υδατα ερρευσαν.

There is no peace, saith the LORD, unto the wicked.

Ειρηνη δεν ειναι εις τους ασεβεις, λεγει Κυριος.
