Psalms 24

The earth is the LORD'S, and the fulness thereof; the world, and they that dwell therein.

Av David; en salme. Jorden hører Herren til - og alt det som fyller den, jorderike og de som bor der.

For he hath founded it upon the seas, and established it upon the floods.

For han har grunnlagt den på hav og stilt den fast på strømmer.

Who shall ascend into the hill of the LORD? or who shall stand in his holy place?

Hvem skal stige op på Herrens berg, og hvem skal stå på hans hellige sted?

He that hath clean hands, and a pure heart; who hath not lifted up his soul unto vanity, nor sworn deceitfully.

Den som har uskyldige hender og et rent hjerte, som ikke har vendt sin hu til løgn og ikke har svoret falskelig.

He shall receive the blessing from the LORD, and righteousness from the God of his salvation.

Han skal motta velsignelse fra Herren og rettferdighet fra sin frelses Gud.

This is the generation of them that seek him, that seek thy face, O Jacob. Selah.

Lift up your heads, O ye gates; and be ye lift up, ye everlasting doors; and the King of glory shall come in.

Who is this King of glory? The LORD strong and mighty, the LORD mighty in battle.

Hvem er den herlighetens konge? Herren, sterk og veldig, Herren veldig i strid.

Lift up your heads, O ye gates; even lift them up, ye everlasting doors; and the King of glory shall come in.

Løft, I porter, eders hoder, og løft eder, I evige dører, så herlighetens konge kan dra inn!

Who is this King of glory? The LORD of hosts, he is the King of glory. Selah.
