Psalms 8

O LORD our Lord, how excellent is thy name in all the earth! who hast set thy glory above the heavens.

हे यहोवा, मेरे स्वामी, तेरा नाम सारी धरती पर अति अद्भुत है। तेरा नाम स्वर्ग में हर कहीं तुझे प्रशंसा देता है।

Out of the mouth of babes and sucklings hast thou ordained strength because of thine enemies, that thou mightest still the enemy and the avenger.

बालकों और छोटे शिशुओं के मुख से, तेरे प्रशंसा के गीत उच्चरित होते हैं। तू अपने शत्रुओं को चुप करवाने के लिये ऐसा करता है।

When I consider thy heavens, the work of thy fingers, the moon and the stars, which thou hast ordained;

हे यहोवा, जब मेरी दृष्टि गगन पर पड़ती है, जिसको तूने अपने हाथों से रचा है और जब मैं चाँद तारों को देखता हूँ जो तेरी रचना है, तो मैं अचरज से भर उठता हूँ।

What is man, that thou art mindful of him? and the son of man, that thou visitest him?

लोग तेरे लिये क्यों इतने महत्वपूर्ण हो गये? तू उनको याद भी किस लिये करता है? मनुष्य का पुत्र तेरे लिये क्यों महत्वपूर्ण है? क्यों तू उन पर ध्यान तक देता है?

For thou hast made him a little lower than the angels, and hast crowned him with glory and honour.

किन्तु तेरे लिये मनुष्य महत्वपूर्ण है! तूने मनुष्य को ईश्वर का प्रतिरुप बनाया है, और उनके सिर पर महिमा और सम्मान का मुकुट रखा है।

Thou madest him to have dominion over the works of thy hands; thou hast put all things under his feet:

तूने अपनी सृष्टि का जो कुछ भी तूने रचा लोगों को उसका अधिकारी बनाया।

All sheep and oxen, yea, and the beasts of the field;

मनुष्य भेड़ों पर, पशु धन पर और जंगल के सभी हिसक जन्तुओं पर शासन करता है।

The fowl of the air, and the fish of the sea, and whatsoever passeth through the paths of the seas.

वह आकाश में पक्षियों पर और सागर में तैरते जलचरों पर शासन करता है।

O LORD our Lord, how excellent is thy name in all the earth!

हे यहोवा, हमारे स्वामी, सारी धरती पर तेरा नाम अति अद्भुत है।
