Psalms 60

O God, thou hast cast us off, thou hast scattered us, thou hast been displeased; O turn thyself to us again.

خدایا، تو ما را ترک کرده و پراکنده ساخته‌ای؛ از ما خشمگین هستی؛ امّا اینک به سوی ما بازگرد.

Thou hast made the earth to tremble; thou hast broken it: heal the breaches thereof; for it shaketh.

زمین را لرزانده و از هم شکافته‌ای، پس چاره‌ای کن، زیرا از هم پاشیده می‌شود.

Thou hast shewed thy people hard things: thou hast made us to drink the wine of astonishment.

تو قوم خود را گرفتار مشکلات سخت کردی و شراب سرگردانی به ما نوشاندی.

Thou hast given a banner to them that fear thee, that it may be displayed because of the truth. Selah.

به آنهایی که از تو می‌ترسند خبر دادی تا از خطر بگریزند.

That thy beloved may be delivered; save with thy right hand, and hear me.

با قدرت خود ما را نجات ده و دعای من را اجابت فرما تا آنهایی که محبوب تو هستند، رهایی یابند.

God hath spoken in his holiness; I will rejoice, I will divide Shechem, and mete out the valley of Succoth.

خداوند از جایگاه مقدّس خود به ما وعده داد و فرمود: «با سرافرازی، شهر شکیم و دشت سُكوّت را بین قوم تقسیم خواهم نمود.

Gilead is mine, and Manasseh is mine; Ephraim also is the strength of mine head; Judah is my lawgiver;

جِلعاد از آن من است و منسی نیز از آن من. افرایم کلاهخود من است و یهودا عصای سلطنت من،

Moab is my washpot; over Edom will I cast out my shoe: Philistia, triumph thou because of me.

موآب لگن شست‌وشو‌ی من خواهد بود و به نشانهٔ مالکیّتم کفش خود را بر اَدوم پرت خواهم کرد. و بر فراز فلسطین بانگ پیروزی بر خواهم آورد.»

Who will bring me into the strong city? who will lead me into Edom?

چه کسی مرا به شهر مستحکم می‌برد؟ چه کسی مرا به اَدوم راهنمایی می‌کند؟

Wilt not thou, O God, which hadst cast us off? and thou, O God, which didst not go out with our armies?

خدایا، آیا حقیقتاً ما را ترک کرده‌ای؟ و پیشاپیش لشکر ما نخواهی رفت؟

Give us help from trouble: for vain is the help of man.

خدایا، در مقابله با دشمنان به ما کمک کن، زیرا کمک انسان بی‌فایده است.

Through God we shall do valiantly: for he it is that shall tread down our enemies.

با کمک خدا پیروزی از آن ما خواهد بود، او دشمنان ما را سرکوب خواهد کرد.
