Numbers 21

And when king Arad the Canaanite, which dwelt in the south, heard tell that Israel came by the way of the spies; then he fought against Israel, and took some of them prisoners.

А арадският цар, ханаанецът, който живееше на юг, чу, че Израил идва по пътя за Атарим, и се би против Израил, и отведе от него пленници.

And Israel vowed a vow unto the LORD, and said, If thou wilt indeed deliver this people into my hand, then I will utterly destroy their cities.

И Израил направи обрек на ГОСПОДА, като каза: Ако наистина предадеш този народ в ръката ми, ще изпълня проклятието над градовете им.

And the LORD hearkened to the voice of Israel, and delivered up the Canaanites; and they utterly destroyed them and their cities: and he called the name of the place Hormah.

И ГОСПОД послуша гласа на Израил и му предаде ханаанците и изпълниха проклятието над тях и градовете им. И мястото се нарече Хорма.

And they journeyed from mount Hor by the way of the Red sea, to compass the land of Edom: and the soul of the people was much discouraged because of the way.

И тръгнаха от планината Ор по пътя към Червено море, за да обиколят едомската земя. А по пътя малодушие завладя народа.

And the people spake against God, and against Moses, Wherefore have ye brought us up out of Egypt to die in the wilderness? for there is no bread, neither is there any water; and our soul loatheth this light bread.

И народът говореше против Бога и против Мойсей: Защо ни изведохте от Египет да измрем в пустинята? Защото няма нито хляб, нито вода и душата ни се отвращава от този никакъв хляб.

And the LORD sent fiery serpents among the people, and they bit the people; and much people of Israel died.

Затова ГОСПОД изпрати между народа отровни змии, които хапеха народа, и много народ от Израил измря.

Therefore the people came to Moses, and said, We have sinned, for we have spoken against the LORD, and against thee; pray unto the LORD, that he take away the serpents from us. And Moses prayed for the people.

Тогава народът дойде при Мойсей и каза: Съгрешихме, че говорихме против ГОСПОДА и против теб. Помоли се на ГОСПОДА да махне змиите от нас! И Мойсей се помоли за народа.

And the LORD said unto Moses, Make thee a fiery serpent, and set it upon a pole: and it shall come to pass, that every one that is bitten, when he looketh upon it, shall live.

И ГОСПОД каза на Мойсей: Направи си една отровна змия и я сложи на прът. И всеки ухапан, като я погледне, ще остане жив.

And Moses made a serpent of brass, and put it upon a pole, and it came to pass, that if a serpent had bitten any man, when he beheld the serpent of brass, he lived.

И така, Мойсей направи бронзова змия и я сложи на прът. И когато змия ухапеше някого и той погледнеше бронзовата змия, оставаше жив.

And the children of Israel set forward, and pitched in Oboth.

Тогава израилевите синове тръгнаха и разположиха стан в Овот.

And they journeyed from Oboth, and pitched at Ije–abarim, in the wilderness which is before Moab, toward the sunrising.

И като тръгнаха от Овот, разположиха стан в Еаварим, в пустинята, която е към Моав, към изгрев слънце.

From thence they removed, and pitched in the valley of Zared.

От там тръгнаха и разположиха стан в долината Заред.

From thence they removed, and pitched on the other side of Arnon, which is in the wilderness that cometh out of the coasts of the Amorites: for Arnon is the border of Moab, between Moab and the Amorites.

От там тръгнаха и разположиха стан оттатък реката Арнон, която е в пустинята и изтича от областта на аморейците; защото Арнон е моавска граница между моавците и аморейците.

Wherefore it is said in the book of the wars of the LORD, What he did in the Red sea, and in the brooks of Arnon,

Затова е казано в книгата на ГОСПОДНИТЕ войни: Ваев в Суфа и потоците на Арнон,

And at the stream of the brooks that goeth down to the dwelling of Ar, and lieth upon the border of Moab.

и течението на потоците, което се простира до селището Ар и допира границата на Моав.

And from thence they went to Beer: that is the well whereof the LORD spake unto Moses, Gather the people together, and I will give them water.

А от там дойдоха при Вир. Този е кладенецът, за който ГОСПОД каза на Мойсей: Събери народа и ще му дам вода.

Then Israel sang this song, Spring up, O well; sing ye unto it:

Тогава Израил изпя тази песен: Бликай, о, кладенче; пейте за него!

The princes digged the well, the nobles of the people digged it, by the direction of the lawgiver, with their staves. And from the wilderness they went to Mattanah:

Кладенец изкопаха първенците; благородните от народа изкопаха чрез заповед нА законодателя, с жезлите си. А от пустинята отидоха в Матана,

And from Mattanah to Nahaliel: and from Nahaliel to Bamoth:

а от Матана в Наалиил, а от Наалиил във Вамот,

And from Bamoth in the valley, that is in the country of Moab, to the top of Pisgah, which looketh toward Jeshimon.

а от Вамот в долината, която е в моавското поле, при върха на Фасга, която гледа към Есимон.

And Israel sent messengers unto Sihon king of the Amorites, saying,

Тогава Израил изпрати пратеници при аморейския цар Сион да кажат:

Let me pass through thy land: we will not turn into the fields, or into the vineyards; we will not drink of the waters of the well: but we will go along by the king's high way, until we be past thy borders.

Остави ме да премина през земята ти. Няма да се отбиваме нито по нивите, нито по лозята, не искаме да пием вода от кладенците. Ще вървим през царския път, докато преминем областта ти.

And Sihon would not suffer Israel to pass through his border: but Sihon gathered all his people together, and went out against Israel into the wilderness: and he came to Jahaz, and fought against Israel.

Но Сион не пусна Израил да мине през областта му. И Сион събра целия си народ, излезе срещу Израил в пустинята и дойде в Яса, и се би против Израил.

And Israel smote him with the edge of the sword, and possessed his land from Arnon unto Jabbok, even unto the children of Ammon: for the border of the children of Ammon was strong.

Но Израил го разби с острото на меча и завладя земята му от Арнон до Явок, до синовете на Амон, защото границата на синовете на Амон беше здрава.

And Israel took all these cities: and Israel dwelt in all the cities of the Amorites, in Heshbon, and in all the villages thereof.

Израил завладя всички тези градове и Израил се засели във всичките градове на аморейците, в Есевон и във всичките му села;

For Heshbon was the city of Sihon the king of the Amorites, who had fought against the former king of Moab, and taken all his land out of his hand, even unto Arnon.

понеже Есевон беше град на аморейския цар Сион, който беше воювал с предишния моавски цар и беше отнел от ръката му цялата му земя до Арнон.

Wherefore they that speak in proverbs say, Come into Heshbon, let the city of Sihon be built and prepared:

Затова, онези, които говорят с притчи, казват: Елате в Есевон! Да се съгради и да се укрепи градът на Сион!

For there is a fire gone out of Heshbon, a flame from the city of Sihon: it hath consumed Ar of Moab, and the lords of the high places of Arnon.

Защото огън излезе от Есевон, пламък от града на Сион, пояде Ар Моавски, и господарите на високите места на Арнон.

Woe to thee, Moab! thou art undone, O people of Chemosh: he hath given his sons that escaped, and his daughters, into captivity unto Sihon king of the Amorites.

Горко ти, Моаве! Погина ти, народе на Хамос! Даде синовете си като бежанци и дъщерите си в плен на Сион, аморейския цар.

We have shot at them; Heshbon is perished even unto Dibon, and we have laid them waste even unto Nophah, which reacheth unto Medeba.

И ние стреляхме по тях; Есевон погина до Девон, опустошихме ги до Нофа, която стига до Медева.

Thus Israel dwelt in the land of the Amorites.

Така Израил се засели в земята на аморейците.

And Moses sent to spy out Jaazer, and they took the villages thereof, and drove out the Amorites that were there.

После Мойсей изпрати да огледат Язир. И като превзеха селата му, изгониха аморейците, които бяха в тях.

And they turned and went up by the way of Bashan: and Og the king of Bashan went out against them, he, and all his people, to the battle at Edrei.

После се върнаха и отидоха по пътя към Васан. А васанският цар Ог излезе против тях, той и целият му народ, на бой в Едраи.

And the LORD said unto Moses, Fear him not: for I have delivered him into thy hand, and all his people, and his land; and thou shalt do to him as thou didst unto Sihon king of the Amorites, which dwelt at Heshbon.

Но ГОСПОД каза на Мойсей: Не се бой от него, защото Аз ще предам в ръцете ви него, целия му народ и земята му. Ще му направиш така, както направи на аморейския цар Сион, който живееше в Есевон.

So they smote him, and his sons, and all his people, until there was none left him alive: and they possessed his land.

И те разбиха него, синовете му и целия му народ, докато не му остана нито един Оцелял, и завладяха земята му.
