Numbers 22

And the children of Israel set forward, and pitched in the plains of Moab on this side Jordan by Jericho.

След това израилевите синове отпътуваха и разположиха стан в низините на Моав, оттатък Йордан, срещу Ерихон.

And Balak the son of Zippor saw all that Israel had done to the Amorites.

А Валак, синът на Сепфор, видя всичко, което Израил направи на аморейците.

And Moab was sore afraid of the people, because they were many: and Moab was distressed because of the children of Israel.

И Моав се уплаши много от народа, защото беше многочислен, и Моав се боеше от израилевите синове.

And Moab said unto the elders of Midian, Now shall this company lick up all that are round about us, as the ox licketh up the grass of the field. And Balak the son of Zippor was king of the Moabites at that time.

И Моав каза на мадиамските старейшини: Сега това множество ще изпояде всичко около нас, както говедо изпояжда зеленината на полето. И Валак, синът на Сепфор, който в това време беше цар на моавците,

He sent messengers therefore unto Balaam the son of Beor to Pethor, which is by the river of the land of the children of his people, to call him, saying, Behold, there is a people come out from Egypt: behold, they cover the face of the earth, and they abide over against me:

изпрати посланици до Валаам, сина на Веор, във Фатур, който е при реката Ефрат, в земята на синовете на народа му, за да го повикат, като му кажат: Ето, народ излезе от Египет; ето, покриват лицето на земята и са разположени срещу мен.

Come now therefore, I pray thee, curse me this people; for they are too mighty for me: peradventure I shall prevail, that we may smite them, and that I may drive them out of the land: for I wot that he whom thou blessest is blessed, and he whom thou cursest is cursed.

Ела сега, моля те, и ми прокълни този народ, защото е по-силен от мен, дано успея да го победя и да го изгоня от земята; понеже зная, че онзи, когото ти благославяш, е благословен, а когото проклинаш, е проклет.

And the elders of Moab and the elders of Midian departed with the rewards of divination in their hand; and they came unto Balaam, and spake unto him the words of Balak.

И така, моавските старейшини и мадиамските старейшини отидоха с възнаграждение за врачуването в ръцете си, дойдоха при Валаам и му казаха думите на Валак.

And he said unto them, Lodge here this night, and I will bring you word again, as the LORD shall speak unto me: and the princes of Moab abode with Balaam.

А той им каза: Пренощувайте тук и ще ви дам отговор според това, което ми каже ГОСПОД. И така, моавските първенци останаха у Валаам.

And God came unto Balaam, and said, What men are these with thee?

И Бог дойде при Валаам и каза: Кои са тези мъже у теб?

And Balaam said unto God, Balak the son of Zippor, king of Moab, hath sent unto me, saying,

И Валаам каза на Бога: Валак, синът на Сепфор, цар на моавците, ги е пратил до мен да кажат:

Behold, there is a people come out of Egypt, which covereth the face of the earth: come now, curse me them; peradventure I shall be able to overcome them, and drive them out.

Ето, народът, който излезе от Египет, покрива лицето на земята; ела сега и ми го прокълни, дано бих могъл да се бия с него и да го изгоня.

And God said unto Balaam, Thou shalt not go with them; thou shalt not curse the people: for they are blessed.

А Бог каза на Валаам: Да не отидеш с тях и да не прокълнеш народа, защото е благословен!

And Balaam rose up in the morning, and said unto the princes of Balak, Get you into your land: for the LORD refuseth to give me leave to go with you.

И така, Валаам стана сутринта и каза на първенците на Валак: Идете в земята си, защото ГОСПОД Отказва да ме пусне да дойда с вас.

And the princes of Moab rose up, and they went unto Balak, and said, Balaam refuseth to come with us.

Тогава моавските първенци станаха и отидоха при Валак и казаха: Валаам отказва да дойде с нас.

And Balak sent yet again princes, more, and more honourable than they.

А Валак отново изпрати първенци, повече и по-почитани от първите.

And they came to Balaam, and said to him, Thus saith Balak the son of Zippor, Let nothing, I pray thee, hinder thee from coming unto me:

И те дойдоха при Валаам и му казаха: Така говори Валак, синът на Сепфор: Моля те, нищо да не те спре да дойдеш при мен,

For I will promote thee unto very great honour, and I will do whatsoever thou sayest unto me: come therefore, I pray thee, curse me this people.

защото ще те издигна до голяма почит и ще направя всичко, което би ми казал! И така, моля те, ела и ми прокълни този народ.

And Balaam answered and said unto the servants of Balak, If Balak would give me his house full of silver and gold, I cannot go beyond the word of the LORD my God, to do less or more.

А Валаам отговори на слугите на Валак и каза: Ако би ми дал Валак и къщата си пълна със сребро и злато, аз не мога да престъпя думата на ГОСПОДА, моя Бог, да направя нещо малко или голямо.

Now therefore, I pray you, tarry ye also here this night, that I may know what the LORD will say unto me more.

Затова, моля ви, пренощувайте и вие тук, за да разбера какво още ще ми каже ГОСПОД.

And God came unto Balaam at night, and said unto him, If the men come to call thee, rise up, and go with them; but yet the word which I shall say unto thee, that shalt thou do.

И Бог дойде при Валаам през нощта и му каза: Щом са дошли мъжете да те повикат, стани и иди с тях; но само онова, което ти кажа, него да направиш.

And Balaam rose up in the morning, and saddled his ass, and went with the princes of Moab.

Затова Валаам стана на сутринта, оседла магарицата си и отиде с моавските първенци.

And God's anger was kindled because he went: and the angel of the LORD stood in the way for an adversary against him. Now he was riding upon his ass, and his two servants were with him.

Но Божият гняв пламна, затова че отиде, и Ангелът ГОСПОДЕН застана на пътя пред Валаам, за да му се съпротиви; а той яздеше на магарицата си и двамата му слуги бяха с него.

And the ass saw the angel of the LORD standing in the way, and his sword drawn in his hand: and the ass turned aside out of the way, and went into the field: and Balaam smote the ass, to turn her into the way.

А магарицата видя, че Ангелът ГОСПОДЕН стоеше на пътя с гол меч в ръка и магарицата се отби от пътя и отиде в полето. А Валаам удари магарицата, за да я оправи в пътя.

But the angel of the LORD stood in a path of the vineyards, a wall being on this side, and a wall on that side.

Тогава Ангелът ГОСПОДЕН застана на един нисък път между лозята, където имаше ограда от едната страна и ограда от другата страна.

And when the ass saw the angel of the LORD, she thrust herself unto the wall, and crushed Balaam's foot against the wall: and he smote her again.

И магарицата видя Ангела ГОСПОДЕН и се притисна към зида и натисна крака на Валаам в зида. И той пак я удари.

And the angel of the LORD went further, and stood in a narrow place, where was no way to turn either to the right hand or to the left.

После Ангелът ГОСПОДЕН отиде още напред и застана на едно тясно място, където нямаше път да се отбие нито надясно, нито наляво.

And when the ass saw the angel of the LORD, she fell down under Balaam: and Balaam's anger was kindled, and he smote the ass with a staff.

И когато магарицата видя Ангела ГОСПОДЕН, тя падна под Валаам. А гневът на Валаам пламна и той удари магарицата с тоягата си.

And the LORD opened the mouth of the ass, and she said unto Balaam, What have I done unto thee, that thou hast smitten me these three times?

Тогава ГОСПОД отвори устата на магарицата и тя каза на Валаам: Какво съм ти сторила, че ме биеш вече три пъти?

And Balaam said unto the ass, Because thou hast mocked me: I would there were a sword in mine hand, for now would I kill thee.

А Валаам каза на магарицата: Защо се подигра с мен! Само да имах меч в ръката си — веднага бих те убил.

And the ass said unto Balaam, Am not I thine ass, upon which thou hast ridden ever since I was thine unto this day? was I ever wont to do so unto thee? And he said, Nay.

И магарицата каза на Валаам: Не съм ли аз твоята магарица, на която си яздил през целия си живот до днес? Имала ли съм навик друг път да ти правя така? А той каза: Не.

Then the LORD opened the eyes of Balaam, and he saw the angel of the LORD standing in the way, and his sword drawn in his hand: and he bowed down his head, and fell flat on his face.

Тогава ГОСПОД отвори очите на Валаам и той видя Ангела ГОСПОДЕН, стоящ на пътя с голия си меч в ръката си, и се поклони и падна на лицето си.

And the angel of the LORD said unto him, Wherefore hast thou smitten thine ass these three times? behold, I went out to withstand thee, because thy way is perverse before me:

И Ангелът ГОСПОДЕН му каза: Ти защо би магарицата си вече три пъти? Ето, аз излязох да ти се съпротивя, защото пътят ти не е прав пред мен;

And the ass saw me, and turned from me these three times: unless she had turned from me, surely now also I had slain thee, and saved her alive.

и магарицата ме видя и се отби от мен, ето, три пъти; ако не се беше отбила от мен, досега да съм те убил, а нея да съм оставил жива.

And Balaam said unto the angel of the LORD, I have sinned; for I knew not that thou stoodest in the way against me: now therefore, if it displease thee, I will get me back again.

Тогава Валаам каза на Ангела ГОСПОДЕН: Съгреших, защото не знаех, че ти стоеше на пътя против мен. И сега, ако това е зло в очите ти, аз ще се върна.

And the angel of the LORD said unto Balaam, Go with the men: but only the word that I shall speak unto thee, that thou shalt speak. So Balaam went with the princes of Balak.

А Ангелът ГОСПОДЕН каза на Валаам: Иди с мъжете; но само словото, което ти кажа, него да говориш! И така, Валаам отиде с първенците на Валак.

And when Balak heard that Balaam was come, he went out to meet him unto a city of Moab, which is in the border of Arnon, which is in the utmost coast.

А когато Валак чу, че Валаам идва, той излезе да го посрещне до един моавски град, на границата на Арнон, който е най-крайната граница.

And Balak said unto Balaam, Did I not earnestly send unto thee to call thee? wherefore camest thou not unto me? am I not able indeed to promote thee to honour?

Тогава Валак каза на Валаам: Не пратих ли изрично до теб да те повикат? Защо не дойде при мен? Не мога ли да те почета?

And Balaam said unto Balak, Lo, I am come unto thee: have I now any power at all to say any thing? the word that God putteth in my mouth, that shall I speak.

А Валаам каза на Валак: Ето, дойдох при теб, но имам ли сега власт да говоря нещо? Словото, което Бог сложи в устата ми, него ще говоря.

And Balaam went with Balak, and they came unto Kirjath–huzoth.

И Валаам отиде с Валак, и дойдоха в Кириатузот.

And Balak offered oxen and sheep, and sent to Balaam, and to the princes that were with him.

И Валак пожертва говеда и овце и изпрати от тях на Валаам и на първенците, които бяха с него.

And it came to pass on the morrow, that Balak took Balaam, and brought him up into the high places of Baal, that thence he might see the utmost part of the people.

А на сутринта Валак взе Валаам и го заведе на високите места на Ваал, откъдето той видя до края на народа.
