Esther 4

When Mordecai perceived all that was done, Mordecai rent his clothes, and put on sackcloth with ashes, and went out into the midst of the city, and cried with a loud and a bitter cry;

И когато Мардохей научи всичко, което беше станало, той раздра дрехите си, облече се във вретище с пепел и излезе сред града, и завика силно и горчиво.

And came even before the king's gate: for none might enter into the king's gate clothed with sackcloth.

И дойде пред царската порта, защото никой, облечен във вретище, не можеше да влезе вътре в царската порта.

And in every province, whithersoever the king's commandment and his decree came, there was great mourning among the Jews, and fasting, and weeping, and wailing; and many lay in sackcloth and ashes.

И във всяка област, където стигна заповедта на царя и разпоредбата му, настана голяма скръб между юдеите и пост, и плач, и ридание; и мнозина имаха под себе си вретище и пепел.

So Esther's maids and her chamberlains came and told it her. Then was the queen exceedingly grieved; and she sent raiment to clothe Mordecai, and to take away his sackcloth from him: but he received it not.

И момичетата на Естир и скопците й дойдоха и й съобщиха това; и царицата много се уплаши. И изпрати дрехи, за да облекат Мардохей и да свалят вретището от него, но той не прие.

Then called Esther for Hatach, one of the king's chamberlains, whom he had appointed to attend upon her, and gave him a commandment to Mordecai, to know what it was, and why it was.

Тогава Естир повика Атах, един от скопците на царя, когото той беше определил да й слугува, и му поръча да отиде при Мардохей да разбере какво е това и защо е.

So Hatach went forth to Mordecai unto the street of the city, which was before the king's gate.

И Атах излезе при Мардохей на градския площад, който беше пред царската порта.

And Mordecai told him of all that had happened unto him, and of the sum of the money that Haman had promised to pay to the king's treasuries for the Jews, to destroy them.

И Мардохей му съобщи всичко, което му се беше случило, и количеството на среброто, което Аман беше обещал да внесе в царските съкровищници за юдеите, за да ги унищожи.

Also he gave him the copy of the writing of the decree that was given at Shushan to destroy them, to shew it unto Esther, and to declare it unto her, and to charge her that she should go in unto the king, to make supplication unto him, and to make request before him for her people.

Даде му и препис от писаната заповед, която беше издадена в Суса за погубването им, за да го покаже на Естир и да й извести, и да й поръча да влезе при царя, за да му се помоли за милост и да го умолява за народа си.

And Hatach came and told Esther the words of Mordecai.

И Атах дойде и съобщи на Естир думите на Мардохей.

Again Esther spake unto Hatach, and gave him commandment unto Mordecai;

И Естир говори на Атах и му поръча да каже на Мардохей:

All the king's servants, and the people of the king's provinces, do know, that whosoever, whether man or woman, shall come unto the king into the inner court, who is not called, there is one law of his to put him to death, except such to whom the king shall hold out the golden sceptre, that he may live: but I have not been called to come in unto the king these thirty days.

Всички царски слуги и народът от царските области знаят, че за всекиго, мъж или жена, който влезе при царя във вътрешния двор, без да е повикан, има един закон — да се умъртви, освен ако царят простре към него златния скиптър, за да остане жив. А аз вече тридесет дни не съм викана да вляза при царя.

And they told to Mordecai Esther's words.

И съобщиха на Мардохей думите на Естир.

Then Mordecai commanded to answer Esther, Think not with thyself that thou shalt escape in the king's house, more than all the Jews.

Тогава Мардохей каза да отговорят на Естир: Не мисли в себе си, че от всичките юдеи само ти ще се избавиш в царския дом!

For if thou altogether holdest thy peace at this time, then shall there enlargement and deliverance arise to the Jews from another place; but thou and thy father's house shall be destroyed: and who knoweth whether thou art come to the kingdom for such a time as this?

Защото ако наистина си замълчиш в това време, от другаде ще дойде помощ и избавление на юдеите, но ти и бащиният ти дом ще погинете. А кой знае дали ти не си се издигнала до царско достойнство за време като това?

Then Esther bade them return Mordecai this answer,

Тогава Естир каза да отговорят на Мардохей:

Go, gather together all the Jews that are present in Shushan, and fast ye for me, and neither eat nor drink three days, night or day: I also and my maidens will fast likewise; and so will I go in unto the king, which is not according to the law: and if I perish, I perish.

Иди, събери всичките юдеи, които се намират в Суса, и постете за мен! Не яжте и не пийте три дни, нощем и денем; и аз и момичетата ми ще постим също така. И после ще вляза при царя, което не е според закона, и ако загина, нека загина!

So Mordecai went his way, and did according to all that Esther had commanded him.

И Мардохей отиде и извърши всичко, което му беше заповядала Естир.
