Psalms 124

ای قوم اسرائیل جواب بدهید. اگر خداوند با ما نمی‌بود، چه می‌شد؟

If it had not been the LORD who was on our side, now may Israel say;

اگر خداوند پشتیبان ما نمی‌بود، وقتی دشمنان بر ما حمله کردند،

If it had not been the LORD who was on our side, when men rose up against us:

آنگاه آنها در خشم و غضب خود ما را می‌بلعیدند.

Then they had swallowed us up quick, when their wrath was kindled against us:

بعد سیل خروشان ما را با خود می‌برد و آب از سرِ ما می‌گذشت

Then the waters had overwhelmed us, the stream had gone over our soul:

و در گردابها غرق می‌شدیم.

Then the proud waters had gone over our soul.

خداوند را سپاس باد که ما را شکار دندانهای آنها نساخت.

Blessed be the LORD, who hath not given us as a prey to their teeth.

مانند پرنده‌ای از دام صیاد جستیم، دام پاره شد و ما آزاد شدیم.

Our soul is escaped as a bird out of the snare of the fowlers: the snare is broken, and we are escaped.

خداوندی که آسمان و زمین را آفرید مددکار ماست.

Our help is in the name of the LORD, who made heaven and earth.
