Acts 28

И когато се спасихме, разбрахме, че островът се наричаше Малта.

And when they were escaped, then they knew that the island was called Melita.

А туземците ни показаха необикновено човеколюбие, защото накладоха огън и ни приеха всички, понеже валеше дъжд и беше студено.

And the barbarous people shewed us no little kindness: for they kindled a fire, and received us every one, because of the present rain, and because of the cold.

И когато Павел събра един куп клони и ги сложи на огъня, една усойница излезе поради топлината и се впи в ръката му.

And when Paul had gathered a bundle of sticks, and laid them on the fire, there came a viper out of the heat, and fastened on his hand.

А туземците, като видяха как змията висеше на ръката му, говореха помежду си: Без съмнение този човек е убиец, когото, ако и да се е избавил от морето, пак правосъдието не го оставя да живее.

And when the barbarians saw the venomous beast hang on his hand, they said among themselves, No doubt this man is a murderer, whom, though he hath escaped the sea, yet vengeance suffereth not to live.

Но той тръсна змията в огъня и не почувства никакво зло.

And he shook off the beast into the fire, and felt no harm.

А те очакваха, че ще отече или внезапно ще падне мъртъв, но като чакаха много време и видяха, че не му става нищо необичайно, промениха мнението си и говореха, че е бог.

Howbeit they looked when he should have swollen, or fallen down dead suddenly: but after they had looked a great while, and saw no harm come to him, they changed their minds, and said that he was a god.

А около това място се намираха именията на най-първия човек от острова, чието име беше Поплий, който ни прие и гощава приятелски три дни.

In the same quarters were possessions of the chief man of the island, whose name was Publius; who received us, and lodged us three days courteously.

И се случи бащата на Поплий да лежи болен от треска и дизентерия. А Павел влезе при него и като се помоли, положи ръце на него и го изцели.

And it came to pass, that the father of Publius lay sick of a fever and of a bloody flux: to whom Paul entered in, and prayed, and laid his hands on him, and healed him.

Като стана това, и другите от острова, които имаха болести, идваха и се изцеляваха,

So when this was done, others also, which had diseases in the island, came, and were healed:

като ни оказваха и много почести, и когато тръгнахме, ни натовариха с потребното за нуждите ни.

Who also honoured us with many honours; and when we departed, they laded us with such things as were necessary.

След три месеца отплавахме с един александрийски кораб, който беше презимувал на острова и който имаше за знак Близнаците.

And after three months we departed in a ship of Alexandria, which had wintered in the isle, whose sign was Castor and Pollux.

И като стигнахме в Сиракуза, престояхме там три дни.

And landing at Syracuse, we tarried there three days.

И оттам, като заобиколихме, стигнахме в Ригия; и след един ден повя южният вятър и на следващия ден дойдохме в Потиоли,

And from thence we fetched a compass, and came to Rhegium: and after one day the south wind blew, and we came the next day to Puteoli:

където намерихме братя, които ни замолиха да останем у тях седем дни. И така тръгнахме към Рим,

Where we found brethren, and were desired to tarry with them seven days: and so we went toward Rome.

откъдето братята, като чули за нас, бяха дошли до Апиевия форум и до трите кръчми да ни посрещнат. И Павел, като ги видя, благодари на Бога и се ободри.

And from thence, when the brethren heard of us, they came to meet us as far as Appii forum, and The three taverns: whom when Paul saw, he thanked God, and took courage.

А когато влязохме в Рим, стотникът предаде задържаните на началника на стражата; а на Павел се позволи да живее сам с войника, който го пазеше.

And when we came to Rome, the centurion delivered the prisoners to the captain of the guard: but Paul was suffered to dwell by himself with a soldier that kept him.

И след три дни той свика по-първите от юдеите и като се събраха, им каза: Братя, макар и да не съм сторил нищо против народа или против бащините ни обичаи, пак от Ерусалим ме предадоха вързан в ръцете на римляните,

And it came to pass, that after three days Paul called the chief of the Jews together: and when they were come together, he said unto them, Men and brethren, though I have committed nothing against the people, or customs of our fathers, yet was I delivered prisoner from Jerusalem into the hands of the Romans.

които, като ме изпитаха, щяха да ме пуснат, защото в мен нямаше нищо достойно за смърт.

Who, when they had examined me, would have let me go, because there was no cause of death in me.

Но понеже юдеите се възпротивиха, бях принуден да се отнеса до императора, а не че имах да обвиня в нещо народа си.

But when the Jews spake against it, I was constrained to appeal unto Cæsar; not that I had ought to accuse my nation of.

По тази причина ви повиках, за да ви видя и да ви говоря, защото заради надеждата на Израил съм вързан с тази верига.

For this cause therefore have I called for you, to see you, and to speak with you: because that for the hope of Israel I am bound with this chain.

А те му казаха: Ние нито сме получавали писма от Юдея за теб, нито е идвал някой от братята да ни извести или да ни каже нещо лошо за теб.

And they said unto him, We neither received letters out of Judæa concerning thee, neither any of the brethren that came shewed or spake any harm of thee.

Но желаем да чуем от теб какво ти мислиш, защото ни е известно, че навсякъде говорят против тази ерес.

But we desire to hear of thee what thou thinkest: for as concerning this sect, we know that every where it is spoken against.

И като му определиха ден, мнозина от тях дойдоха при него там, където живееше; и от сутрин до вечер той им обясняваше и свидетелстваше за Божието царство, и ги уверяваше за Иисус и от Мойсеевия закон, и от пророците.

And when they had appointed him a day, there came many to him into his lodging; to whom he expounded and testified the kingdom of God, persuading them concerning Jesus, both out of the law of Moses, and out of the prophets, from morning till evening.

И едни се убеждаваха от това, което говореше, а други не вярваха.

And some believed the things which were spoken, and some believed not.

И понеже не бяха съгласни помежду си, тръгнаха да се разотиват, след като Павел им каза една дума: Добре е казал Светият Дух чрез пророк Исая на бащите ви, когато е рекъл:

And when they agreed not among themselves, they departed, after that Paul had spoken one word, Well spake the Holy Ghost by Esaias the prophet unto our fathers,

?Иди, кажи на този народ: С уши ще чуете, но никак няма да разберете; и с очи ще гледате, но никак няма да видите.

Saying, Go unto this people, and say, Hearing ye shall hear, and shall not understand; and seeing ye shall see, and not perceive:

Защото затлъстя сърцето на този народ и ушите им натегнаха, и очите си затвориха – да не би да видят с очите си и да чуят с ушите си, и да разберат със сърцето си, и да се обърнат, и да ги изцеля.“

For the heart of this people is waxed gross, and their ears are dull of hearing, and their eyes have they closed; lest they should see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and understand with their heart, and should be converted, and I should heal them.

Затова, да знаете, че Божието спасение се изпрати на езичниците и те ще го чуят.

Be it known therefore unto you, that the salvation of God is sent unto the Gentiles, and that they will hear it.

(И като каза това, юдеите си отидоха с голяма препирня помежду си.)

And when he had said these words, the Jews departed, and had great reasoning among themselves.

А Павел живя цели две години в отделна къща под наем, където приемаше всички, които отиваха при него,

And Paul dwelt two whole years in his own hired house, and received all that came in unto him,

като проповядваше Божието царство и учеше с пълно дръзновение за Господ Иисус Христос, без някой да му забранява.

Preaching the kingdom of God, and teaching those things which concern the Lord Jesus Christ, with all confidence, no man forbidding him.
