Judges 13

پھر اسرائیلی دوبارہ ایسی حرکتیں کرنے لگے جو رب کو بُری لگیں۔ اِس لئے اُس نے اُنہیں فلستیوں کے حوالے کر دیا جو اُنہیں 40 سال دباتے رہے۔

And the children of Israel did evil again in the sight of the LORD; and the LORD delivered them into the hand of the Philistines forty years.

اُس وقت ایک آدمی صُرعہ شہر میں رہتا تھا جس کا نام منوحہ تھا۔ دان کے قبیلے کا یہ آدمی بےاولاد تھا، کیونکہ اُس کی بیوی بانجھ تھی۔

And there was a certain man of Zorah, of the family of the Danites, whose name was Manoah; and his wife was barren, and bare not.

ایک دن رب کا فرشتہ منوحہ کی بیوی پر ظاہر ہوا اور کہا، ”گو تجھ سے بچے پیدا نہیں ہو سکتے، اب تُو حاملہ ہو گی، اور تیرے بیٹا پیدا ہو گا۔

And the angel of the LORD appeared unto the woman, and said unto her, Behold now, thou art barren, and bearest not: but thou shalt conceive, and bear a son.

مَے یا کوئی اَور نشہ آور چیز مت پینا، نہ کوئی ناپاک چیز کھانا۔

Now therefore beware, I pray thee, and drink not wine nor strong drink, and eat not any unclean thing:

کیونکہ جو بیٹا پیدا ہو گا وہ پیدائش سے ہی اللہ کے لئے مخصوص ہو گا۔ لازم ہے کہ اُس کے بال کبھی نہ کاٹے جائیں۔ یہی بچہ اسرائیل کو فلستیوں سے بچانے لگے گا۔“

For, lo, thou shalt conceive, and bear a son; and no razor shall come on his head: for the child shall be a Nazarite unto God from the womb: and he shall begin to deliver Israel out of the hand of the Philistines.

بیوی اپنے شوہر منوحہ کے پاس گئی اور اُسے سب کچھ بتایا، ”اللہ کا ایک بندہ میرے پاس آیا۔ وہ اللہ کا فرشتہ لگ رہا تھا، یہاں تک کہ مَیں سخت گھبرا گئی۔ مَیں نے اُس سے نہ پوچھا کہ وہ کہاں سے ہے، اور خود اُس نے مجھے اپنا نام نہ بتایا۔

Then the woman came and told her husband, saying, A man of God came unto me, and his countenance was like the countenance of an angel of God, very terrible: but I asked him not whence he was, neither told he me his name:

لیکن اُس نے مجھے بتایا، ’تُو حاملہ ہو گی، اور تیرے بیٹا پیدا ہو گا۔ اب مَے یا کوئی اَور نشہ آور چیز مت پینا، نہ کوئی ناپاک چیز کھانا۔ کیونکہ بیٹا پیدائش سے ہی موت تک اللہ کے لئے مخصوص ہو گا‘۔“

But he said unto me, Behold, thou shalt conceive, and bear a son; and now drink no wine nor strong drink, neither eat any unclean thing: for the child shall be a Nazarite to God from the womb to the day of his death.

یہ سن کر منوحہ نے رب سے دعا کی، ”اے رب، براہِ کرم مردِ خدا کو دوبارہ ہمارے پاس بھیج تاکہ وہ ہمیں سکھائے کہ ہم اُس بیٹے کے ساتھ کیا کریں جو پیدا ہونے والا ہے۔“

Then Manoah intreated the LORD, and said, O my Lord, let the man of God which thou didst send come again unto us, and teach us what we shall do unto the child that shall be born.

اللہ نے اُس کی سنی اور اپنے فرشتے کو دوبارہ اُس کی بیوی کے پاس بھیج دیا۔ اُس وقت وہ شوہر کے بغیر کھیت میں تھی۔

And God hearkened to the voice of Manoah; and the angel of God came again unto the woman as she sat in the field: but Manoah her husband was not with her.

فرشتے کو دیکھ کر وہ جلدی سے منوحہ کے پاس آئی اور اُسے اطلاع دی، ”جو آدمی پچھلے دنوں میں میرے پاس آیا وہ دوبارہ مجھ پر ظاہر ہوا ہے!“

And the woman made haste, and ran, and shewed her husband, and said unto him, Behold, the man hath appeared unto me, that came unto me the other day.

منوحہ اُٹھ کر اپنی بیوی کے پیچھے پیچھے فرشتے کے پاس آیا۔ اُس نے پوچھا، ”کیا آپ وہی آدمی ہیں جس نے پچھلے دنوں میں میری بیوی سے بات کی تھی؟“ فرشتے نے جواب دیا، ”جی، مَیں ہی تھا۔“

And Manoah arose, and went after his wife, and came to the man, and said unto him, Art thou the man that spakest unto the woman? And he said, I am.

پھر منوحہ نے سوال کیا، ”جب آپ کی پیش گوئی پوری ہو جائے گی تو ہمیں بیٹے کے طرزِ زندگی اور سلوک کے سلسلے میں کن کن باتوں کا خیال کرنا ہے؟“

And Manoah said, Now let thy words come to pass. How shall we order the child, and how shall we do unto him?

رب کے فرشتے نے جواب دیا، ”لازم ہے کہ تیری بیوی اُن تمام چیزوں سے پرہیز کرے جن کا ذکر مَیں نے کیا۔

And the angel of the LORD said unto Manoah, Of all that I said unto the woman let her beware.

وہ انگور کی کوئی بھی پیداوار نہ کھائے۔ نہ وہ مَے، نہ کوئی اَور نشہ آور چیز پیئے۔ ناپاک چیزیں کھانا بھی منع ہے۔ وہ میری ہر ہدایت پر عمل کرے۔“

She may not eat of any thing that cometh of the vine, neither let her drink wine or strong drink, nor eat any unclean thing: all that I commanded her let her observe.

منوحہ نے رب کے فرشتے سے گزارش کی، ”مہربانی کر کے تھوڑی دیر ہمارے پاس ٹھہریں تاکہ ہم بکری کا بچہ ذبح کر کے آپ کے لئے کھانا تیار کر سکیں۔“

And Manoah said unto the angel of the LORD, I pray thee, let us detain thee, until we shall have made ready a kid for thee.

اب تک منوحہ نے یہ بات نہیں پہچانی تھی کہ مہمان اصل میں رب کا فرشتہ ہے۔ فرشتے نے جواب دیا، ”خواہ تُو مجھے روکے بھی مَیں کچھ نہیں کھاؤں گا۔ لیکن اگر تُو کچھ کرنا چاہے تو بکری کا بچہ رب کو بھسم ہونے والی قربانی کے طور پر پیش کر۔“

And the angel of the LORD said unto Manoah, Though thou detain me, I will not eat of thy bread: and if thou wilt offer a burnt offering, thou must offer it unto the LORD. For Manoah knew not that he was an angel of the LORD.

منوحہ نے اُس سے پوچھا، ”آپ کا کیا نام ہے؟ کیونکہ جب آپ کی یہ باتیں پوری ہو جائیں گی تو ہم آپ کی عزت کرنا چاہیں گے۔“

And Manoah said unto the angel of the LORD, What is thy name, that when thy sayings come to pass we may do thee honour?

فرشتے نے سوال کیا، ”تُو میرا نام کیوں جاننا چاہتا ہے؟ وہ تو تیری سمجھ سے باہر ہے۔“

And the angel of the LORD said unto him, Why askest thou thus after my name, seeing it is secret?

پھر منوحہ نے ایک بڑے پتھر پر رب کو بکری کا بچہ اور غلہ کی نذر پیش کی۔ تب رب نے منوحہ اور اُس کی بیوی کے دیکھتے دیکھتے ایک حیرت انگیز کام کیا۔

So Manoah took a kid with a meat offering, and offered it upon a rock unto the LORD: and the angel did wondrously; and Manoah and his wife looked on.

جب آگ کے شعلے آسمان کی طرف بلند ہوئے تو رب کا فرشتہ شعلے میں سے اوپر چڑھ کر اوجھل ہو گیا۔ منوحہ اور اُس کی بیوی منہ کے بل گر گئے۔

For it came to pass, when the flame went up toward heaven from off the altar, that the angel of the LORD ascended in the flame of the altar. And Manoah and his wife looked on it, and fell on their faces to the ground.

جب رب کا فرشتہ دوبارہ منوحہ اور اُس کی بیوی پر ظاہر نہ ہوا تو منوحہ کو سمجھ آئی کہ رب کا فرشتہ ہی تھا۔

But the angel of the LORD did no more appear to Manoah and to his wife. Then Manoah knew that he was an angel of the LORD.

وہ پکار اُٹھا، ”ہائے، ہم مر جائیں گے، کیونکہ ہم نے اللہ کو دیکھا ہے!“

And Manoah said unto his wife, We shall surely die, because we have seen God.

لیکن اُس کی بیوی نے اعتراض کیا، ”اگر رب ہمیں مار ڈالنا چاہتا تو وہ ہماری قربانی قبول نہ کرتا۔ پھر نہ وہ ہم پر یہ سب کچھ ظاہر کرتا، نہ ہمیں ایسی باتیں بتاتا۔“

But his wife said unto him, If the LORD were pleased to kill us, he would not have received a burnt offering and a meat offering at our hands, neither would he have shewed us all these things, nor would as at this time have told us such things as these.

کچھ دیر کے بعد منوحہ کے ہاں بیٹا پیدا ہوا۔ بیوی نے اُس کا نام سمسون رکھا۔ بچہ بڑا ہوتا گیا، اور رب نے اُسے برکت دی۔

And the woman bare a son, and called his name Samson: and the child grew, and the LORD blessed him.

اللہ کا روح پہلی بار محنے دان میں جو صُرعہ اور اِستال کے درمیان ہے اُس پر نازل ہوا۔

And the Spirit of the LORD began to move him at times in the camp of Dan between Zorah and Eshtaol.
