II Chronicles 15

اللہ کا روح عزریاہ بن عودید پر نازل ہوا،

And the Spirit of God came upon Azariah the son of Oded:

اور وہ آسا سے ملنے کے لئے نکلا اور کہا، ”اے آسا اور یہوداہ اور بن یمین کے تمام باشندو، میری بات سنو! رب تمہارے ساتھ ہے اگر تم اُسی کے ساتھ رہو۔ اگر تم اُس کے طالب رہو تو اُسے پا لو گے۔ لیکن جب بھی تم اُسے ترک کرو تو وہ تم ہی کو ترک کرے گا۔

And he went out to meet Asa, and said unto him, Hear ye me, Asa, and all Judah and Benjamin; The LORD is with you, while ye be with him; and if ye seek him, he will be found of you; but if ye forsake him, he will forsake you.

لمبے عرصے تک اسرائیلی حقیقی خدا کے بغیر زندگی گزارتے رہے۔ نہ کوئی امام تھا جو اُنہیں اللہ کی راہ سکھاتا، نہ شریعت۔

Now for a long season Israel hath been without the true God, and without a teaching priest, and without law.

لیکن جب کبھی وہ مصیبت میں پھنس جاتے تو دوبارہ رب اسرائیل کے خدا کے پاس لوٹ آتے۔ وہ اُسے تلاش کرتے اور نتیجے میں اُسے پا لیتے۔

But when they in their trouble did turn unto the LORD God of Israel, and sought him, he was found of them.

اُس زمانے میں سفر کرنا خطرناک ہوتا تھا، کیونکہ امن و امان کہیں نہیں تھا۔

And in those times there was no peace to him that went out, nor to him that came in, but great vexations were upon all the inhabitants of the countries.

ایک قوم دوسری قوم کے ساتھ اور ایک شہر دوسرے کے ساتھ لڑتا رہتا تھا۔ اِس کے پیچھے اللہ کا ہاتھ تھا۔ وہی اُنہیں ہر قسم کی مصیبت میں ڈالتا رہا۔

And nation was destroyed of nation, and city of city: for God did vex them with all adversity.

لیکن جہاں تک تمہارا تعلق ہے، مضبوط ہو اور ہمت نہ ہارو۔ اللہ ضرور تمہاری محنت کا اجر دے گا۔“

Be ye strong therefore, and let not your hands be weak: for your work shall be rewarded.

جب آسا نے عودید کے بیٹے عزریاہ نبی کی پیش گوئی سنی تو اُس کا حوصلہ بڑھ گیا، اور اُس نے اپنے پورے علاقے کے گھنونے بُتوں کو دُور کر دیا۔ اِس میں یہوداہ اور بن یمین کے علاوہ افرائیم کے پہاڑی علاقے کے وہ شہر شامل تھے جن پر اُس نے قبضہ کر لیا تھا۔ ساتھ ساتھ اُس نے اُس قربان گاہ کی مرمت کروائی جو رب کے گھر کے دروازے کے سامنے تھی۔

And when Asa heard these words, and the prophecy of Oded the prophet, he took courage, and put away the abominable idols out of all the land of Judah and Benjamin, and out of the cities which he had taken from mount Ephraim, and renewed the altar of the LORD, that was before the porch of the LORD.

پھر اُس نے یہوداہ اور بن یمین کے تمام لوگوں کو یروشلم بُلایا۔ اُن اسرائیلیوں کو بھی دعوت ملی جو افرائیم، منسّی اور شمعون کے قبائلی علاقوں سے منتقل ہو کر یہوداہ میں آباد ہوئے تھے۔ کیونکہ بےشمار لوگ یہ دیکھ کر کہ رب آسا کا خدا اُس کے ساتھ ہے اسرائیل سے نکل کر یہوداہ میں جا بسے تھے۔

And he gathered all Judah and Benjamin, and the strangers with them out of Ephraim and Manasseh, and out of Simeon: for they fell to him out of Israel in abundance, when they saw that the LORD his God was with him.

آسا بادشاہ کی حکومت کے 15ویں سال اور تیسرے مہینے میں سب یروشلم میں جمع ہوئے۔

So they gathered themselves together at Jerusalem in the third month, in the fifteenth year of the reign of Asa.

وہاں اُنہوں نے لُوٹے ہوئے مال میں سے رب کو 700 بَیل اور 7,000 بھیڑبکریاں قربان کر دیں۔

And they offered unto the LORD the same time, of the spoil which they had brought, seven hundred oxen and seven thousand sheep.

اُنہوں نے عہد باندھا، ’ہم پورے دل و جان سے رب اپنے باپ دادا کے خدا کے طالب رہیں گے۔

And they entered into a covenant to seek the LORD God of their fathers with all their heart and with all their soul;

اور جو رب اسرائیل کے خدا کا طالب نہیں رہے گا اُسے سزائے موت دی جائے گی، خواہ وہ چھوٹا ہو یا بڑا، مرد ہو یا عورت۔‘

That whosoever would not seek the LORD God of Israel should be put to death, whether small or great, whether man or woman.

بلند آواز سے اُنہوں نے قَسم کھا کر رب سے اپنی وفاداری کا اعلان کیا۔ ساتھ ساتھ تُرم اور نرسنگے بجتے رہے۔

And they sware unto the LORD with a loud voice, and with shouting, and with trumpets, and with cornets.

یہ عہد تمام یہوداہ کے لئے خوشی کا باعث تھا، کیونکہ اُنہوں نے پورے دل سے قَسم کھا کر اُسے باندھا تھا۔ اور چونکہ وہ پورے دل سے خدا کے طالب تھے اِس لئے وہ اُسے پا بھی سکے۔ نتیجے میں رب نے اُنہیں چاروں طرف امن و امان مہیا کیا۔

And all Judah rejoiced at the oath: for they had sworn with all their heart, and sought him with their whole desire; and he was found of them: and the LORD gave them rest round about.

آسا کی ماں معکہ بادشاہ کی ماں ہونے کے باعث بہت اثر و رسوخ رکھتی تھی۔ لیکن آسا نے یہ عُہدہ ختم کر دیا جب ماں نے یسیرت دیوی کا گھنونا کھمبا بنوا لیا۔ آسا نے یہ بُت کٹوا کر ٹکڑے ٹکڑے کر دیا اور وادیِ قدرون میں جلا دیا۔

And also concerning Maachah the mother of Asa the king, he removed her from being queen, because she had made an idol in a grove: and Asa cut down her idol, and stamped it, and burnt it at the brook Kidron.

افسوس کہ اُس نے اسرائیل کی اونچی جگہوں کے مندروں کو دُور نہ کیا۔ توبھی آسا اپنے جیتے جی پورے دل سے رب کا وفادار رہا۔

But the high places were not taken away out of Israel: nevertheless the heart of Asa was perfect all his days.

سونا چاندی اور باقی جتنی چیزیں اُس کے باپ اور اُس نے رب کے لئے مخصوص کی تھیں اُن سب کو وہ رب کے گھر میں لایا۔

And he brought into the house of God the things that his father had dedicated, and that he himself had dedicated, silver, and gold, and vessels.

آسا کی حکومت کے 35ویں سال تک جنگ دوبارہ نہ چھڑی۔

And there was no more war unto the five and thirtieth year of the reign of Asa.
