Psalms 87

Av Koras söner; en psalm, en sång.  Den stad han har grundat står på de heliga bergen;

His foundation is in the holy mountains.

 HERREN älskar Sions portar  mest bland alla Jakobs boningar.

The LORD loveth the gates of Zion more than all the dwellings of Jacob.

 Härliga ting äro talade om dig,  du Guds stad.  Sela.

Glorious things are spoken of thee, O city of God. Selah.

 »Rahab och Babel      skall jag nämna bland mina bekännare;  så ock Filisteen och Tyrus och Kus,  dessa äro födda där.»

I will make mention of Rahab and Babylon to them that know me: behold Philistia, and Tyre, with Ethiopia; this man was born there.

 Ja, om Sion skall det sägas:  »Den ene som den andre är född därinne.»  Och han, den Högste, skall hålla det vid makt.

And of Zion it shall be said, This and that man was born in her: and the highest himself shall establish her.

 Ja, när HERREN tecknar upp folken,      då skall han räkna så:  »Dessa äro födda där.»  Sela.

The LORD shall count, when he writeth up the people, that this man was born there. Selah.

 Och under sång och dans skall man säga:  »Alla mina källor äro i dig.»

As well the singers as the players on instruments shall be there: all my springs are in thee.
