Psalms 63

Psalm Dawidowy, gdy był na puszczy Judzkiej.

O God, thou art my God; early will I seek thee: my soul thirsteth for thee, my flesh longeth for thee in a dry and thirsty land, where no water is;

Boże! tyś jest Bogiem moim; z poranku cię szukam; pragnie cię dusza moja, tęskni po tobie ciało moje w ziemi suchej i upragnionej, w której nie masz wody;

To see thy power and thy glory, so as I have seen thee in the sanctuary.

Abym cię oglądał w świątnicy twojej, i widział moc twoję i chwałę twoję.

Because thy lovingkindness is better than life, my lips shall praise thee.

(Albowiem lepsze jest miłosierdzie twoje, niż żywot,) aby cię chwaliły wargi moje,

Thus will I bless thee while I live: I will lift up my hands in thy name.

Abym cię błogosławił za żywota mego, a w imieniu twojem abym podnosił ręce moje.

My soul shall be satisfied as with marrow and fatness; and my mouth shall praise thee with joyful lips:

Jako tłustością i sadłem byłaby tu nasycona dusza moja, a radosnem warg śpiewaniem wychwalałyby cię usta moje.

When I remember thee upon my bed, and meditate on thee in the night watches.

Zaprawdęć na cię wspominam, i na łożu mojem każdej straży nocnej rozmyślam o tobie.

Because thou hast been my help, therefore in the shadow of thy wings will I rejoice.

Boś mi bywał na pomocy; przetoż w cieniu skrzydeł twoich śpiewać będę.

My soul followeth hard after thee: thy right hand upholdeth me.

Przylgnęła dusza moja do ciebie; prawica twoja podpiera mię.

But those that seek my soul, to destroy it, shall go into the lower parts of the earth.

Ale ci, którzy szukają upadku duszy mojej, sami wnijdą do najgłębszej niskości ziemi.

They shall fall by the sword: they shall be a portion for foxes.

Zabije każdego z nich ostrość miecza, i przyjdą liszkom na podział. Lecz król będzie się weselił w Bogu, a będzie się chlubił każdy, kto przezeń przysięga; albowiem zatkane będą usta mówiących kłamstwo.

But the king shall rejoice in God; every one that sweareth by him shall glory: but the mouth of them that speak lies shall be stopped.
