Zechariah 9

The burden of the word of the LORD in the land of Hadrach, and Damascus shall be the rest thereof: when the eyes of man, as of all the tribes of Israel, shall be toward the LORD.

رب کا کلام ملکِ حدراک کے خلاف ہے، اور وہ دمشق پر نازل ہو گا۔ کیونکہ انسان اور اسرائیل کے تمام قبیلوں کی آنکھیں رب کی طرف دیکھتی ہیں۔

And Hamath also shall border thereby; Tyrus, and Zidon, though it be very wise.

دمشق کی سرحد پر واقع حمات بلکہ صور اور صیدا بھی اِس کلام سے متاثر ہو جائیں گے، خواہ وہ کتنے دانش مند کیوں نہ ہوں۔

And Tyrus did build herself a strong hold, and heaped up silver as the dust, and fine gold as the mire of the streets.

بےشک صور نے اپنے لئے مضبوط قلعہ بنا لیا ہے، بےشک اُس نے سونے چاندی کے ایسے ڈھیر لگائے ہیں جیسے عام طور پر گلیوں میں ریت یا کچرے کے ڈھیر لگا لئے جاتے ہیں۔

Behold, the Lord will cast her out, and he will smite her power in the sea; and she shall be devoured with fire.

لیکن رب اُس پر قبضہ کر کے اُس کی فوج کو سمندر میں پھینک دے گا۔ تب شہر نذرِ آتش ہو جائے گا۔

Ashkelon shall see it, and fear; Gaza also shall see it, and be very sorrowful, and Ekron; for her expectation shall be ashamed; and the king shall perish from Gaza, and Ashkelon shall not be inhabited.

یہ دیکھ کر اسقلون گھبرا جائے گا اور غزہ تڑپ اُٹھے گا۔ عقرون بھی لرز اُٹھے گا، کیونکہ اُس کی اُمید جاتی رہے گی۔ غزہ کا بادشاہ ہلاک اور اسقلون غیرآباد ہو جائے گا۔

And a bastard shall dwell in Ashdod, and I will cut off the pride of the Philistines.

اشدود میں دو نسلوں کے لوگ بسیں گے۔ رب فرماتا ہے، ”جو کچھ فلستیوں کے لئے فخر کا باعث ہے اُسے مَیں مٹا دوں گا۔

And I will take away his blood out of his mouth, and his abominations from between his teeth: but he that remaineth, even he, shall be for our God, and he shall be as a governor in Judah, and Ekron as a Jebusite.

مَیں اُن کی بُت پرستی ختم کروں گا۔ آئندہ وہ گوشت کو خون کے ساتھ اور اپنی گھنونی قربانیاں نہیں کھائیں گے۔ تب جو بچ جائیں گے میرے پرستار ہوں گے اور یہوداہ کے خاندانوں میں شامل ہو جائیں گے۔ عقرون کے فلستی یوں میری قوم میں شامل ہو جائیں گے جس طرح قدیم زمانے میں یبوسی میری قوم میں شامل ہو گئے۔

And I will encamp about mine house because of the army, because of him that passeth by, and because of him that returneth: and no oppressor shall pass through them any more: for now have I seen with mine eyes.

مَیں خود اپنے گھر کی پہرہ داری کروں گا تاکہ آئندہ جو بھی آتے یا جاتے وقت وہاں سے گزرے اُس پر حملہ نہ کرے، کوئی بھی ظالم میری قوم کو تنگ نہ کرے۔ اب سے مَیں خود اُس کی دیکھ بھال کروں گا۔

Rejoice greatly, O daughter of Zion; shout, O daughter of Jerusalem: behold, thy King cometh unto thee: he is just, and having salvation; lowly, and riding upon an ass, and upon a colt the foal of an ass.

اے صیون بیٹی، شادیانہ بجا! اے یروشلم بیٹی، شادمانی کے نعرے لگا! دیکھ، تیرا بادشاہ تیرے پاس آ رہا ہے۔ وہ راست باز اور فتح مند ہے، وہ حلیم ہے اور گدھے پر، ہاں گدھی کے بچے پر سوار ہے۔

And I will cut off the chariot from Ephraim, and the horse from Jerusalem, and the battle bow shall be cut off: and he shall speak peace unto the heathen: and his dominion shall be from sea even to sea, and from the river even to the ends of the earth.

مَیں افرائیم سے رتھ اور یروشلم سے گھوڑے دُور کر دوں گا۔ جنگ کی کمان ٹوٹ جائے گی۔ موعودہ بادشاہ کے کہنے پر تمام اقوام میں سلامتی قائم ہو جائے گی۔ اُس کی حکومت ایک سمندر سے دوسرے تک اور دریائے فرات سے دنیا کی انتہا تک مانی جائے گی۔

As for thee also, by the blood of thy covenant I have sent forth thy prisoners out of the pit wherein is no water.

اے میری قوم، مَیں نے تیرے ساتھ ایک عہد باندھا جس کی تصدیق قربانیوں کے خون سے ہوئی، اِس لئے مَیں تیرے قیدیوں کو پانی سے محروم گڑھے سے رِہا کروں گا۔

Turn you to the strong hold, ye prisoners of hope: even to day do I declare that I will render double unto thee;

اے پُراُمید قیدیو، قلعے کے پاس واپس آؤ! کیونکہ آج ہی مَیں اعلان کرتا ہوں کہ تمہاری ہر تکلیف کے عوض مَیں تمہیں دو برکتیں بخش دوں گا۔

When I have bent Judah for me, filled the bow with Ephraim, and raised up thy sons, O Zion, against thy sons, O Greece, and made thee as the sword of a mighty man.

یہوداہ میری کمان ہے اور اسرائیل میرے تیر جو مَیں دشمن کے خلاف چلاؤں گا۔ اے صیون بیٹی، مَیں تیرے بیٹوں کو یونان کے فوجیوں سے لڑنے کے لئے بھیجوں گا، مَیں تجھے سورمے کی تلوار کی مانند بنا دوں گا۔“

And the LORD shall be seen over them, and his arrow shall go forth as the lightning: and the Lord GOD shall blow the trumpet, and shall go with whirlwinds of the south.

تب رب اُن پر ظاہر ہو کر بجلی کی طرح اپنا تیر چلائے گا۔ رب قادرِ مطلق نرسنگا پھونک کر جنوبی آندھیوں میں آئے گا۔

The LORD of hosts shall defend them; and they shall devour, and subdue with sling stones; and they shall drink, and make a noise as through wine; and they shall be filled like bowls, and as the corners of the altar.

رب الافواج خود اسرائیلیوں کو پناہ دے گا۔ تب وہ دشمن کو کھا کھا کر اُس کے پھینکے ہوئے پتھروں کو خاک میں ملا دیں گے اور خون کو مَے کی طرح پی پی کر شور مچائیں گے۔ وہ قربانی کے خون سے بھرے کٹورے کی طرح بھر جائیں گے، قربان گاہ کے کونوں جیسے خون آلودہ ہو جائیں گے۔

And the LORD their God shall save them in that day as the flock of his people: for they shall be as the stones of a crown, lifted up as an ensign upon his land.

اُس دن رب اُن کا خدا اُنہیں جو اُس کی قوم کا ریوڑ ہیں چھٹکارا دے گا۔ تب وہ اُس کے ملک میں تاج کے جواہر کی مانند چمک اُٹھیں گے۔

For how great is his goodness, and how great is his beauty! corn shall make the young men cheerful, and new wine the maids.

وہ کتنے دل کش اور خوب صورت لگیں گے! اناج اور مَے کی کثرت سے کنوارے کنواریاں پھلنے پھولنے لگیں گے۔
