Psalms 82

God standeth in the congregation of the mighty; he judgeth among the gods.

آسف کا زبور۔ اللہ الٰہی مجلس میں کھڑا ہے، معبودوں کے درمیان وہ عدالت کرتا ہے،

How long will ye judge unjustly, and accept the persons of the wicked? Selah.

”تم کب تک عدالت میں غلط فیصلے کر کے بےدینوں کی جانب داری کرو گے؟ (سِلاہ)

Defend the poor and fatherless: do justice to the afflicted and needy.

پست حالوں اور یتیموں کا انصاف کرو، مصیبت زدوں اور ضرورت مندوں کے حقوق قائم رکھو۔

Deliver the poor and needy: rid them out of the hand of the wicked.

پست حالوں اور غریبوں کو بچا کر بےدینوں کے ہاتھ سے چھڑاؤ۔“

They know not, neither will they understand; they walk on in darkness: all the foundations of the earth are out of course.

لیکن وہ کچھ نہیں جانتے، اُنہیں سمجھ ہی نہیں آتی۔ وہ تاریکی میں ٹٹول ٹٹول کر گھومتے پھرتے ہیں جبکہ زمین کی تمام بنیادیں جھومنے لگی ہیں۔

I have said, Ye are gods; and all of you are children of the most High.

بےشک مَیں نے کہا، ”تم خدا ہو، سب اللہ تعالیٰ کے فرزند ہو۔

But ye shall die like men, and fall like one of the princes.

لیکن تم فانی انسان کی طرح مر جاؤ گے، تم دیگر حکمرانوں کی طرح گر جاؤ گے۔“

Arise, O God, judge the earth: for thou shalt inherit all nations.

اے اللہ، اُٹھ کر زمین کی عدالت کر! کیونکہ تمام اقوام تیری ہی موروثی ملکیت ہیں۔
