Psalms 19

The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament sheweth his handywork.

داؤد کا زبور۔ موسیقی کے راہنما کے لئے۔ آسمان اللہ کے جلال کا اعلان کرتے ہیں، آسمانی گنبد اُس کے ہاتھوں کا کام بیان کرتا ہے۔

Day unto day uttereth speech, and night unto night sheweth knowledge.

ایک دن دوسرے کو اطلاع دیتا، ایک رات دوسری کو خبر پہنچاتی ہے،

There is no speech nor language, where their voice is not heard.

لیکن زبان سے نہیں۔ گو اُن کی آواز سنائی نہیں دیتی،

Their line is gone out through all the earth, and their words to the end of the world. In them hath he set a tabernacle for the sun,

توبھی اُن کی آواز نکل کر پوری دنیا میں سنائی دیتی، اُن کے الفاظ دنیا کی انتہا تک پہنچ جاتے ہیں۔ وہاں اللہ نے آفتاب کے لئے خیمہ لگایا ہے۔

Which is as a bridegroom coming out of his chamber, and rejoiceth as a strong man to run a race.

جس طرح دُولھا اپنی خواب گاہ سے نکلتا ہے اُسی طرح سورج نکل کر پہلوان کی طرح اپنی دوڑ دوڑنے پر خوشی مناتا ہے۔

His going forth is from the end of the heaven, and his circuit unto the ends of it: and there is nothing hid from the heat thereof.

آسمان کے ایک سرے سے چڑھ کر اُس کا چکر دوسرے سرے تک لگتا ہے۔ اُس کی تپتی گرمی سے کوئی بھی چیز پوشیدہ نہیں رہتی۔

The law of the LORD is perfect, converting the soul: the testimony of the LORD is sure, making wise the simple.

رب کی شریعت کامل ہے، اُس سے جان میں جان آ جاتی ہے۔ رب کے احکام قابلِ اعتماد ہیں، اُن سے سادہ لوح دانش مند ہو جاتا ہے۔

The statutes of the LORD are right, rejoicing the heart: the commandment of the LORD is pure, enlightening the eyes.

رب کی ہدایات باانصاف ہیں، اُن سے دل باغ باغ ہو جاتا ہے۔ رب کے احکام پاک ہیں، اُن سے آنکھیں چمک اُٹھتی ہیں۔

The fear of the LORD is clean, enduring for ever: the judgments of the LORD are true and righteous altogether.

رب کا خوف پاک ہے اور ابد تک قائم رہے گا۔ رب کے فرمان سچے اور سب کے سب راست ہیں۔

More to be desired are they than gold, yea, than much fine gold: sweeter also than honey and the honeycomb.

وہ سونے بلکہ خالص سونے کے ڈھیر سے زیادہ مرغوب ہیں۔ وہ شہد بلکہ چھتے کے تازہ شہد سے زیادہ میٹھے ہیں۔

Moreover by them is thy servant warned: and in keeping of them there is great reward.

اُن سے تیرے خادم کو آگاہ کیا جاتا ہے، اُن پر عمل کرنے سے بڑا اجر ملتا ہے۔

Who can understand his errors? cleanse thou me from secret faults.

جو خطائیں بےخبری میں سرزد ہوئیں کون اُنہیں جانتا ہے؟ میرے پوشیدہ گناہوں کو معاف کر!

Keep back thy servant also from presumptuous sins; let them not have dominion over me: then shall I be upright, and I shall be innocent from the great transgression.

اپنے خادم کو گستاخوں سے محفوظ رکھ تاکہ وہ مجھ پر حکومت نہ کریں۔ تب مَیں بےالزام ہو کر سنگین گناہ سے پاک رہوں گا۔

Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O LORD, my strength, and my redeemer.

اے رب، بخش دے کہ میرے منہ کی باتیں اور میرے دل کی سوچ بچار تجھے پسند آئے۔ تُو ہی میری چٹان اور میرا چھڑانے والا ہے۔
