Judges 15

But it came to pass within a while after, in the time of wheat harvest, that Samson visited his wife with a kid; and he said, I will go in to my wife into the chamber. But her father would not suffer him to go in.

کچھ دن گزر گئے۔ جب گندم کی کٹائی ہونے لگی تو سمسون بکری کا بچہ اپنے ساتھ لے کر اپنی بیوی سے ملنے گیا۔ سُسر کے گھر پہنچ کر اُس نے بیوی کے کمرے میں جانے کی درخواست کی۔ لیکن باپ نے انکار کیا۔

And her father said, I verily thought that thou hadst utterly hated her; therefore I gave her to thy companion: is not her younger sister fairer than she? take her, I pray thee, instead of her.

اُس نے کہا، ”یہ نہیں ہو سکتا! مَیں نے بیٹی کی شادی آپ کے شہ بالے سے کرا دی ہے۔ اصل میں مجھے یقین ہو گیا تھا کہ اب آپ اُس سے سخت نفرت کرتے ہیں۔ لیکن کوئی بات نہیں۔ اُس کی چھوٹی بہن سے شادی کر لیں۔ وہ زیادہ خوب صورت ہے۔“

And Samson said concerning them, Now shall I be more blameless than the Philistines, though I do them a displeasure.

سمسون بولا، ”اِس دفعہ مَیں فلستیوں سے خوب بدلہ لوں گا، اور کوئی نہیں کہہ سکے گا کہ مَیں حق پر نہیں ہوں۔“

And Samson went and caught three hundred foxes, and took firebrands, and turned tail to tail, and put a firebrand in the midst between two tails.

وہاں سے نکل کر اُس نے 300 لومڑیوں کو پکڑ لیا۔ دو دو کی دُموں کو باندھ کر اُس نے ہر جوڑے کی دُموں کے ساتھ مشعل لگا دی

And when he had set the brands on fire, he let them go into the standing corn of the Philistines, and burnt up both the shocks, and also the standing corn, with the vineyards and olives.

اور پھر مشعلوں کو جلا کر لومڑیوں کو فلستیوں کے اناج کے کھیتوں میں بھگا دیا۔ کھیتوں میں پڑے پُولے اُس اناج سمیت بھسم ہوئے جو اب تک کاٹا نہیں گیا تھا۔ انگور اور زیتون کے باغ بھی تباہ ہو گئے۔

Then the Philistines said, Who hath done this? And they answered, Samson, the son in law of the Timnite, because he had taken his wife, and given her to his companion. And the Philistines came up, and burnt her and her father with fire.

فلستیوں نے دریافت کیا کہ یہ کس کا کام ہے۔ پتا چلا کہ سمسون نے یہ سب کچھ کیا ہے، اور کہ وجہ یہ ہے کہ تِمنت میں اُس کے سُسر نے اُس کی بیوی کو اُس سے چھین کر اُس کے شہ بالے کو دے دیا ہے۔ یہ سن کر فلستی تِمنت گئے اور سمسون کے سُسر کو اُس کی بیٹی سمیت پکڑ کر جلا دیا۔

And Samson said unto them, Though ye have done this, yet will I be avenged of you, and after that I will cease.

تب سمسون نے اُن سے کہا، ”یہ تم نے کیا کِیا ہے! جب تک مَیں نے پورا بدلہ نہ لیا مَیں نہیں رُکوں گا۔“

And he smote them hip and thigh with a great slaughter: and he went down and dwelt in the top of the rock Etam.

وہ اِتنے زور سے اُن پر ٹوٹ پڑا کہ بےشمار فلستی ہلاک ہوئے۔ پھر وہ اُس جگہ سے اُتر کر عیطام کی چٹان کے غار میں رہنے لگا۔

Then the Philistines went up, and pitched in Judah, and spread themselves in Lehi.

جواب میں فلستی فوج یہوداہ کے قبائلی علاقے میں داخل ہوئی۔ وہاں وہ لحی شہر کے پاس خیمہ زن ہوئے۔

And the men of Judah said, Why are ye come up against us? And they answered, To bind Samson are we come up, to do to him as he hath done to us.

یہوداہ کے باشندوں نے پوچھا، ”کیا وجہ ہے کہ آپ ہم سے لڑنے آئے ہیں؟“ فلستیوں نے جواب دیا، ”ہم سمسون کو پکڑنے آئے ہیں تاکہ اُس کے ساتھ وہ کچھ کریں جو اُس نے ہمارے ساتھ کیا ہے۔“

Then three thousand men of Judah went to the top of the rock Etam, and said to Samson, Knowest thou not that the Philistines are rulers over us? what is this that thou hast done unto us? And he said unto them, As they did unto me, so have I done unto them.

تب یہوداہ کے 3,000 مرد عیطام پہاڑ کے غار کے پاس آئے اور سمسون سے کہا، ”یہ آپ نے ہمارے ساتھ کیا کِیا؟ آپ کو تو پتا ہے کہ فلستی ہم پر حکومت کرتے ہیں۔“ سمسون نے جواب دیا، ”مَیں نے اُن کے ساتھ صرف وہ کچھ کیا جو اُنہوں نے میرے ساتھ کیا تھا۔“

And they said unto him, We are come down to bind thee, that we may deliver thee into the hand of the Philistines. And Samson said unto them, Swear unto me, that ye will not fall upon me yourselves.

یہوداہ کے مرد بولے، ”ہم آپ کو باندھ کر فلستیوں کے حوالے کرنے آئے ہیں۔“ سمسون نے کہا، ”ٹھیک ہے، لیکن قَسم کھائیں کہ آپ خود مجھے قتل نہیں کریں گے۔“

And they spake unto him, saying, No; but we will bind thee fast, and deliver thee into their hand: but surely we will not kill thee. And they bound him with two new cords, and brought him up from the rock.

اُنہوں نے جواب دیا، ”ہم آپ کو ہرگز قتل نہیں کریں گے بلکہ آپ کو صرف باندھ کر اُن کے حوالے کر دیں گے۔“ چنانچہ وہ اُسے دو تازہ تازہ رسّوں سے باندھ کر فلستیوں کے پاس لے گئے۔

And when he came unto Lehi, the Philistines shouted against him: and the Spirit of the LORD came mightily upon him, and the cords that were upon his arms became as flax that was burnt with fire, and his bands loosed from off his hands.

سمسون ابھی لحی سے دُور تھا کہ فلستی نعرے لگاتے ہوئے اُس کی طرف دوڑے آئے۔ تب رب کا روح بڑے زور سے اُس پر نازل ہوا۔ اُس کے بازوؤں سے بندھے ہوئے رسّے سَن کے جلے ہوئے دھاگے جیسے کمزور ہو گئے، اور وہ پگھل کر ہاتھوں سے گر گئے۔

And he found a new jawbone of an ass, and put forth his hand, and took it, and slew a thousand men therewith.

کہیں سے گدھے کا تازہ جبڑا پکڑ کر اُس نے اُس کے ذریعے ہزار افراد کو مار ڈالا۔

And Samson said, With the jawbone of an ass, heaps upon heaps, with the jaw of an ass have I slain a thousand men.

اُس وقت اُس نے نعرہ لگایا، ”گدھے کے جبڑے سے مَیں نے اُن کے ڈھیر لگائے ہیں! گدھے کے جبڑے سے مَیں نے ہزار مردوں کو مار ڈالا ہے!“

And it came to pass, when he had made an end of speaking, that he cast away the jawbone out of his hand, and called that place Ramath–lehi.

اِس کے بعد اُس نے گدھے کا یہ جبڑا پھینک دیا۔ اُس جگہ کا نام رامت لحی یعنی جبڑا پہاڑی پڑ گیا۔

And he was sore athirst, and called on the LORD, and said, Thou hast given this great deliverance into the hand of thy servant: and now shall I die for thirst, and fall into the hand of the uncircumcised?

سمسون کو وہاں بڑی پیاس لگی۔ اُس نے رب کو پکار کر کہا، ”تُو ہی نے اپنے خادم کے ہاتھ سے اسرائیل کو یہ بڑی نجات دلائی ہے۔ لیکن اب مَیں پیاس سے مر کر نامختون دشمن کے ہاتھ میں آ جاؤں گا۔“

But God clave an hollow place that was in the jaw, and there came water thereout; and when he had drunk, his spirit came again, and he revived: wherefore he called the name thereof En–hakkore, which is in Lehi unto this day.

تب اللہ نے لحی میں زمین کو چھیدا، اور گڑھے سے پانی پھوٹ نکلا۔ سمسون اُس کا پانی پی کر دوبارہ تازہ دم ہو گیا۔ یوں اُس چشمے کا نام عین ہقّورے یعنی پکارنے والے کا چشمہ پڑ گیا۔ آج بھی وہ لحی میں موجود ہے۔

And he judged Israel in the days of the Philistines twenty years.

فلستیوں کے دور میں سمسون 20 سال تک اسرائیل کا قاضی رہا۔
