Isaiah 21

The burden of the desert of the sea. As whirlwinds in the south pass through; so it cometh from the desert, from a terrible land.

دلدل کے علاقے کے بارے میں اللہ کا فرمان: جس طرح دشتِ نجب میں طوفان کے تیز جھونکے بار بار آ پڑتے ہیں اُسی طرح آفت بیابان سے آئے گی، دشمن دہشت ناک ملک سے آ کر تجھ پر ٹوٹ پڑے گا۔

A grievous vision is declared unto me; the treacherous dealer dealeth treacherously, and the spoiler spoileth. Go up, O Elam: besiege, O Media; all the sighing thereof have I made to cease.

رب نے ہول ناک رویا میں مجھ پر ظاہر کیا ہے کہ نمک حرام اور ہلاکو حرکت میں آ گئے ہیں۔ اے عیلام چل، بابل پر حملہ کر! اے مادی اُٹھ، شہر کا محاصرہ کر! مَیں ہونے دوں گا کہ بابل کے مظلوموں کی آہیں بند ہو جائیں گی۔

Therefore are my loins filled with pain: pangs have taken hold upon me, as the pangs of a woman that travaileth: I was bowed down at the hearing of it; I was dismayed at the seeing of it.

اِس لئے میری کمر شدت سے لرزنے لگی ہے۔ دردِ زہ میں مبتلا عورت کی سی گھبراہٹ میری انتڑیوں کو مروڑ رہی ہے۔ جو کچھ مَیں نے سنا ہے اُس سے مَیں تڑپ اُٹھا ہوں، اور جو کچھ مَیں نے دیکھا ہے، اُس سے مَیں حواس باختہ ہو گیا ہوں۔

My heart panted, fearfulness affrighted me: the night of my pleasure hath he turned into fear unto me.

میرا دل دھڑک رہا ہے، کپکپی مجھ پر طاری ہو گئی ہے۔ پہلے شام کا دُھندلکا مجھے پیارا لگتا تھا، لیکن اب رویا کو دیکھ کر وہ میرے لئے دہشت کا باعث بن گیا ہے۔

Prepare the table, watch in the watchtower, eat, drink: arise, ye princes, and anoint the shield.

تاہم بابل میں لوگ میز لگا کر قالین بچھا رہے ہیں۔ بےپروائی سے وہ کھانا کھا رہے اور مَے پی رہے ہیں۔ اے افسرو، اُٹھو! اپنی ڈھالوں پر تیل لگا کر لڑنے کے لئے تیار ہو جاؤ!

For thus hath the Lord said unto me, Go, set a watchman, let him declare what he seeth.

رب نے مجھے حکم دیا، ”جا کر پہرے دار کھڑا کر دے جو تجھے ہر نظر آنے والی چیز کی اطلاع دے۔

And he saw a chariot with a couple of horsemen, a chariot of asses, and a chariot of camels; and he hearkened diligently with much heed:

جوں ہی دو گھوڑوں والے رتھ یا گدھوں اور اونٹوں پر سوار آدمی دکھائی دیں تو خبردار! پہرے دار پوری توجہ دے۔“

And he cried, A lion: My lord, I stand continually upon the watchtower in the daytime, and I am set in my ward whole nights:

تب پہرے دار شیرببر کی طرح پکار اُٹھا، ”میرے آقا، روز بہ روز مَیں پوری وفاداری سے اپنی بُرجی پر کھڑا رہا ہوں، اور راتوں مَیں تیار رہ کر یہاں پہرہ داری کرتا آیا ہوں۔

And, behold, here cometh a chariot of men, with a couple of horsemen. And he answered and said, Babylon is fallen, is fallen; and all the graven images of her gods he hath broken unto the ground.

اب وہ دیکھو! دو گھوڑوں والا رتھ آ رہا ہے جس پر آدمی سوار ہے۔ اب وہ جواب میں کہہ رہا ہے، ’بابل گر گیا، وہ گر گیا ہے! اُس کے تمام بُت چِکنا چُور ہو کر زمین پر بکھر گئے ہیں‘۔“

O my threshing, and the corn of my floor: that which I have heard of the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel, have I declared unto you.

اے گاہنے کی جگہ پر کچلی ہوئی میری قوم! جو کچھ اسرائیل کے خدا، رب الافواج نے مجھے فرمایا ہے اُسے مَیں نے تمہیں سنا دیا ہے۔

The burden of Dumah. He calleth to me out of Seir, Watchman, what of the night? Watchman, what of the night?

ادوم کے بارے میں رب کا فرمان: سعیر کے پہاڑی علاقے سے کوئی مجھے آواز دیتا ہے، ”اے پہرے دار، صبح ہونے میں کتنا وقت باقی ہے؟ اے پہرے دار، صبح ہونے میں کتنا وقت باقی ہے؟“

The watchman said, The morning cometh, and also the night: if ye will enquire, enquire ye: return, come.

پہرے دار جواب دیتا ہے، ”صبح ہونے والی ہے، لیکن رات بھی۔ اگر آپ مزید پوچھنا چاہیں تو دوبارہ آ کر پوچھ لیں۔“

The burden upon Arabia. In the forest in Arabia shall ye lodge, O ye travelling companies of Dedanim.

ملکِ عرب کے بارے میں رب کا فرمان: اے ددانیوں کے قافلو، ملکِ عرب کے جنگل میں رات گزارو۔

The inhabitants of the land of Tema brought water to him that was thirsty, they prevented with their bread him that fled.

اے ملکِ تیما کے باشندو، پانی لے کر پیاسوں سے ملنے جاؤ! پناہ گزینوں کے پاس جا کر اُنہیں روٹی کھلاؤ!

For they fled from the swords, from the drawn sword, and from the bent bow, and from the grievousness of war.

کیونکہ وہ تلوار سے لیس دشمن سے بھاگ رہے ہیں، ایسے لوگوں سے جو تلوار تھامے اور کمان تانے اُن سے سخت لڑائی لڑے ہیں۔

For thus hath the Lord said unto me, Within a year, according to the years of an hireling, and all the glory of Kedar shall fail:

کیونکہ رب نے مجھ سے فرمایا، ”ایک سال کے اندر اندر قیدار کی تمام شان و شوکت ختم ہو جائے گی۔

And the residue of the number of archers, the mighty men of the children of Kedar, shall be diminished: for the LORD God of Israel hath spoken it.

قیدار کے زبردست تیراندازوں میں سے تھوڑے ہی بچ پائیں گے۔“ یہ رب، اسرائیل کے خدا کا فرمان ہے۔
