Habakkuk 1

The burden which Habakkuk the prophet did see.

ذیل میں وہ کلام قلم بند ہے جو حبقوق نبی کو رویا دیکھ کر ملا۔

O LORD, how long shall I cry, and thou wilt not hear! even cry out unto thee of violence, and thou wilt not save!

اے رب، مَیں مزید کب تک مدد کے لئے پکاروں؟ اب تک تُو نے میری نہیں سنی۔ مَیں مزید کب تک چیخیں مار مار کر کہوں کہ فساد ہو رہا ہے؟ اب تک تُو نے ہمیں چھٹکارا نہیں دیا۔

Why dost thou shew me iniquity, and cause me to behold grievance? for spoiling and violence are before me: and there are that raise up strife and contention.

تُو کیوں ہونے دیتا ہے کہ مجھے اِتنی ناانصافی دیکھنی پڑے؟ لوگوں کو اِتنا نقصان پہنچایا جا رہا ہے، لیکن تُو خاموشی سے سب کچھ دیکھتا رہتا ہے۔ جہاں بھی مَیں نظر ڈالوں، وہاں ظلم و تشدد ہی نظر آتا ہے، مقدمہ بازی اور جھگڑے سر اُٹھاتے ہیں۔

Therefore the law is slacked, and judgment doth never go forth: for the wicked doth compass about the righteous; therefore wrong judgment proceedeth.

نتیجے میں شریعت بےاثر ہو گئی ہے، اور باانصاف فیصلے کبھی جاری نہیں ہوتے۔ بےدینوں نے راست بازوں کو گھیر لیا ہے، اِس لئے عدالت میں بےہودہ فیصلے کئے جاتے ہیں۔

Behold ye among the heathen, and regard, and wonder marvellously: for I will work a work in your days, which ye will not believe, though it be told you.

”دیگر اقوام پر نگاہ ڈالو، ہاں اُن پر دھیان دو تو ہکا بکا رہ جاؤ گے۔ کیونکہ مَیں تمہارے جیتے جی ایک ایسا کام کروں گا جس کی جب خبر سنو گے تو تمہیں یقین نہیں آئے گا۔

For, lo, I raise up the Chaldeans, that bitter and hasty nation, which shall march through the breadth of the land, to possess the dwellingplaces that are not theirs.

مَیں بابلیوں کو کھڑا کروں گا۔ یہ ظالم اور تلخ رُو قوم پوری دنیا کو عبور کر کے دوسرے ممالک پر قبضہ کرے گی۔

They are terrible and dreadful: their judgment and their dignity shall proceed of themselves.

لوگ اُس سے سخت دہشت کھائیں گے، ہر طرف اُسی کے قوانین اور عظمت ماننی پڑے گی۔

Their horses also are swifter than the leopards, and are more fierce than the evening wolves: and their horsemen shall spread themselves, and their horsemen shall come from far; they shall fly as the eagle that hasteth to eat.

اُن کے گھوڑے چیتوں سے تیز ہیں، اور شام کے وقت شکار کرنے والے بھیڑیے بھی اُن جیسے پُھرتیلے نہیں ہوتے۔ وہ سرپٹ دوڑ کر دُور دُور سے آتے ہیں۔ جس طرح عقاب لاش پر جھپٹا مارتا ہے اُسی طرح وہ اپنے شکار پر حملہ کرتے ہیں۔

They shall come all for violence: their faces shall sup up as the east wind, and they shall gather the captivity as the sand.

سب اِسی مقصد سے آتے ہیں کہ ظلم و تشدد کریں۔ جہاں بھی جائیں وہاں آگے بڑھتے جاتے ہیں۔ ریت جیسے بےشمار قیدی اُن کے ہاتھ میں جمع ہوتے ہیں۔

And they shall scoff at the kings, and the princes shall be a scorn unto them: they shall deride every strong hold; for they shall heap dust, and take it.

وہ دیگر بادشاہوں کا مذاق اُڑاتے ہیں، اور دوسروں کے بزرگ اُن کے تمسخر کا نشانہ بن جاتے ہیں۔ ہر قلعے کو دیکھ کر وہ ہنس اُٹھتے ہیں۔ جلد ہی وہ اُن کی دیواروں کے ساتھ مٹی کے ڈھیر لگا کر اُن پر قبضہ کرتے ہیں۔

Then shall his mind change, and he shall pass over, and offend, imputing this his power unto his god.

پھر وہ تیز ہَوا کی طرح وہاں سے گزر کر آگے بڑھ جاتے ہیں۔ لیکن وہ قصوروار ٹھہریں گے، کیونکہ اُن کی اپنی طاقت اُن کا خدا ہے۔“

Art thou not from everlasting, O LORD my God, mine Holy One? we shall not die. O LORD, thou hast ordained them for judgment; and, O mighty God, thou hast established them for correction.

اے رب، کیا تُو قدیم زمانے سے ہی میرا خدا، میرا قدوس نہیں ہے؟ ہم نہیں مریں گے۔ اے رب، تُو نے اُنہیں سزا دینے کے لئے مقرر کیا ہے۔ اے چٹان، تیری مرضی ہے کہ وہ ہماری تربیت کریں۔

Thou art of purer eyes than to behold evil, and canst not look on iniquity: wherefore lookest thou upon them that deal treacherously, and holdest thy tongue when the wicked devoureth the man that is more righteous than he?

تیری آنکھیں بالکل پاک ہیں، اِس لئے تُو بُرا کام برداشت نہیں کر سکتا، تُو خاموشی سے ظلم و تشدد پر نظر نہیں ڈال سکتا۔ تو پھر تُو اِن بےوفاؤں کی حرکتوں کو کس طرح برداشت کرتا ہے؟ جب بےدین اُسے ہڑپ کر لیتا جو اُس سے کہیں زیادہ راست باز ہے تو تُو خاموش کیوں رہتا ہے؟

And makest men as the fishes of the sea, as the creeping things, that have no ruler over them?

تُو نے ہونے دیا ہے کہ انسان سے مچھلیوں کا سا سلوک کیا جائے، کہ اُسے اُن سمندری جانوروں کی طرح پکڑا جائے، جن کا کوئی مالک نہیں۔

They take up all of them with the angle, they catch them in their net, and gather them in their drag: therefore they rejoice and are glad.

دشمن اُن سب کو کانٹے کے ذریعے پانی سے نکال لیتا ہے، اپنا جال ڈال کر اُنہیں پکڑ لیتا ہے۔ جب اُن کا بڑا ڈھیر جمع ہو جاتا ہے تو وہ خوش ہو کر شادیانہ بجاتا ہے۔

Therefore they sacrifice unto their net, and burn incense unto their drag; because by them their portion is fat, and their meat plenteous.

تب وہ اپنے جال کے سامنے بخور جلا کر اُسے جانور قربان کرتا ہے۔ کیونکہ اُسی کے وسیلے سے وہ عیش و عشرت کی زندگی گزار سکتا ہے۔

Shall they therefore empty their net, and not spare continually to slay the nations?

کیا وہ مسلسل اپنا جال ڈالتا اور قوموں کو بےرحمی سے موت کے گھاٹ اُتارتا رہے؟
