II Chronicles 35

Moreover Josiah kept a passover unto the LORD in Jerusalem: and they killed the passover on the fourteenth day of the first month.

پھر یوسیاہ نے رب کی تعظیم میں فسح کی عید منائی۔ پہلے مہینے کے 14ویں دن فسح کا لیلا ذبح کیا گیا۔

And he set the priests in their charges, and encouraged them to the service of the house of the LORD,

بادشاہ نے اماموں کو کام پر لگا کر اُن کی حوصلہ افزائی کی کہ وہ رب کے گھر میں اپنی خدمت اچھی طرح انجام دیں۔

And said unto the Levites that taught all Israel, which were holy unto the LORD, Put the holy ark in the house which Solomon the son of David king of Israel did build; it shall not be a burden upon your shoulders: serve now the LORD your God, and his people Israel,

لاویوں کو تمام اسرائیلیوں کو شریعت کی تعلیم دینے کی ذمہ داری دی گئی تھی، اور ساتھ ساتھ اُنہیں رب کی خدمت کے لئے مخصوص کیا گیا تھا۔ اُن سے یوسیاہ نے کہا، ”مُقدّس صندوق کو اُس عمارت میں رکھیں جو اسرائیل کے بادشاہ داؤد کے بیٹے سلیمان نے تعمیر کیا۔ اُسے اپنے کندھوں پر اُٹھا کر اِدھر اُدھر لے جانے کی ضرورت نہیں ہے بلکہ اب سے اپنا وقت رب اپنے خدا اور اُس کی قوم اسرائیل کی خدمت میں صرف کریں۔

And prepare yourselves by the houses of your fathers, after your courses, according to the writing of David king of Israel, and according to the writing of Solomon his son.

اُن خاندانی گروہوں کے مطابق خدمت کے لئے تیار رہیں جن کی ترتیب داؤد بادشاہ اور اُس کے بیٹے سلیمان نے لکھ کر مقرر کی تھی۔

And stand in the holy place according to the divisions of the families of the fathers of your brethren the people, and after the division of the families of the Levites.

پھر مقدِس میں اُس جگہ کھڑے ہو جائیں جو آپ کے خاندانی گروہ کے لئے مقرر ہے اور اُن خاندانوں کی مدد کریں جو قربانیاں چڑھانے کے لئے آتے ہیں اور جن کی خدمت کرنے کی ذمہ داری آپ کو دی گئی ہے۔

So kill the passover, and sanctify yourselves, and prepare your brethren, that they may do according to the word of the LORD by the hand of Moses.

اپنے آپ کو خدمت کے لئے مخصوص کریں اور فسح کے لیلے ذبح کر کے اپنے ہم وطنوں کے لئے اِس طرح تیار کریں جس طرح رب نے موسیٰ کی معرفت حکم دیا تھا۔“

And Josiah gave to the people, of the flock, lambs and kids, all for the passover offerings, for all that were present, to the number of thirty thousand, and three thousand bullocks: these were of the king's substance.

عید کی خوشی میں یوسیاہ نے عید منانے والوں کو اپنی ملکیت میں سے 30,000 بھیڑبکریوں کے بچے دیئے۔ یہ جانور فسح کی قربانی کے طور پر چڑھائے گئے جبکہ بادشاہ کی طرف سے 3,000 بَیل دیگر قربانیوں کے لئے استعمال ہوئے۔

And his princes gave willingly unto the people, to the priests, and to the Levites: Hilkiah and Zechariah and Jehiel, rulers of the house of God, gave unto the priests for the passover offerings two thousand and six hundred small cattle, and three hundred oxen.

اِس کے علاوہ بادشاہ کے افسروں نے بھی اپنی خوشی سے قوم، اماموں اور لاویوں کو جانور دیئے۔ اللہ کے گھر کے سب سے اعلیٰ افسروں خِلقیاہ، زکریاہ اور یحی ایل نے دیگر اماموں کو فسح کی قربانی کے لئے 2,600 بھیڑبکریوں کے بچے دیئے، نیز 300 بَیل۔

Conaniah also, and Shemaiah and Nethaneel, his brethren, and Hashabiah and Jeiel and Jozabad, chief of the Levites, gave unto the Levites for passover offerings five thousand small cattle, and five hundred oxen.

اِسی طرح لاویوں کے راہنماؤں نے دیگر لاویوں کو فسح کی قربانی کے لئے 5,000 بھیڑبکریوں کے بچے دیئے، نیز 500 بَیل۔ اُن میں سے تین بھائی بنام کوننیاہ، سمعیاہ اور نتنی ایل تھے جبکہ دوسروں کے نام حسبیاہ، یعی ایل اور یوزبد تھے۔

So the service was prepared, and the priests stood in their place, and the Levites in their courses, according to the king's commandment.

جب ہر ایک خدمت کے لئے تیار تھا تو امام اپنی اپنی جگہ پر اور لاوی اپنے اپنے گروہوں کے مطابق کھڑے ہو گئے جس طرح بادشاہ نے ہدایت دی تھی۔

And they killed the passover, and the priests sprinkled the blood from their hands, and the Levites flayed them.

لاویوں نے فسح کے لیلوں کو ذبح کر کے اُن کی کھالیں اُتاریں جبکہ اماموں نے لاویوں سے جانوروں کا خون لے کر قربان گاہ پر چھڑکا۔

And they removed the burnt offerings, that they might give according to the divisions of the families of the people, to offer unto the LORD, as it is written in the book of Moses. And so did they with the oxen.

جو کچھ بھسم ہونے والی قربانیوں کے لئے مقرر تھا اُسے قوم کے مختلف خاندانوں کے لئے ایک طرف رکھ دیا گیا تاکہ وہ اُسے بعد میں رب کو قربانی کے طور پر پیش کر سکیں، جس طرح موسیٰ کی شریعت میں لکھا ہے۔ بَیلوں کے ساتھ بھی ایسا ہی کیا گیا۔

And they roasted the passover with fire according to the ordinance: but the other holy offerings sod they in pots, and in caldrons, and in pans, and divided them speedily among all the people.

فسح کے لیلوں کو ہدایات کے مطابق آگ پر بھونا گیا جبکہ باقی گوشت کو مختلف قسم کی دیگوں میں اُبالا گیا۔ جوں ہی گوشت پک گیا تو لاویوں نے اُسے جلدی سے حاضرین میں تقسیم کیا۔

And afterward they made ready for themselves, and for the priests: because the priests the sons of Aaron were busied in offering of burnt offerings and the fat until night; therefore the Levites prepared for themselves, and for the priests the sons of Aaron.

اِس کے بعد اُنہوں نے اپنے اور اماموں کے لئے فسح کے لیلے تیار کئے، کیونکہ ہارون کی اولاد یعنی امام بھسم ہونے والی قربانیوں اور چربی کو چڑھانے میں رات تک مصروف رہے۔

And the singers the sons of Asaph were in their place, according to the commandment of David, and Asaph, and Heman, and Jeduthun the king's seer; and the porters waited at every gate; they might not depart from their service; for their brethren the Levites prepared for them.

عید کے پورے دوران آسف کے خاندان کے گلوکار اپنی اپنی جگہ پر کھڑے رہے، جس طرح داؤد، آسف، ہیمان اور بادشاہ کے غیب بین یدوتون نے ہدایت دی تھی۔ دربان بھی رب کے گھر کے دروازوں پر مسلسل کھڑے رہے۔ اُنہیں اپنی جگہوں کو چھوڑنے کی ضرورت بھی نہیں تھی، کیونکہ باقی لاویوں نے اُن کے لئے بھی فسح کے لیلے تیار کر رکھے۔

So all the service of the LORD was prepared the same day, to keep the passover, and to offer burnt offerings upon the altar of the LORD, according to the commandment of king Josiah.

یوں اُس دن یوسیاہ کے حکم پر قربانیوں کے پورے انتظام کو ترتیب دیا گیا تاکہ آئندہ فسح کی عید منائی جائے اور بھسم ہونے والی قربانیاں رب کی قربان گاہ پر پیش کی جائیں۔

And the children of Israel that were present kept the passover at that time, and the feast of unleavened bread seven days.

یروشلم میں جمع ہوئے اسرائیلیوں نے فسح کی عید اور بےخمیری روٹی کی عید ایک ہفتے کے دوران منائی۔

And there was no passover like to that kept in Israel from the days of Samuel the prophet; neither did all the kings of Israel keep such a passover as Josiah kept, and the priests, and the Levites, and all Judah and Israel that were present, and the inhabitants of Jerusalem.

فسح کی عید اسرائیل میں سموایل نبی کے زمانے سے لے کر اُس وقت تک اِس طرح نہیں منائی گئی تھی۔ اسرائیل کے کسی بھی بادشاہ نے اُسے یوں نہیں منایا تھا جس طرح یوسیاہ نے اُسے اُس وقت اماموں، لاویوں، یروشلم اور تمام یہوداہ اور اسرائیل سے آئے ہوئے لوگوں کے ساتھ مل کر منائی۔

In the eighteenth year of the reign of Josiah was this passover kept.

یوسیاہ بادشاہ کی حکومت کے 18ویں سال میں پہلی دفعہ رب کی تعظیم میں ایسی عید منائی گئی۔

After all this, when Josiah had prepared the temple, Necho king of Egypt came up to fight against Carchemish by Euphrates: and Josiah went out against him.

رب کے گھر کی بحالی کی تکمیل کے بعد ایک دن مصر کا بادشاہ نکوہ دریائے فرات پر کے شہر کرکِمیس کے لئے روانہ ہوا تاکہ وہاں دشمن سے لڑے۔ لیکن راستے میں یوسیاہ اُس کا مقابلہ کرنے کے لئے نکلا۔

But he sent ambassadors to him, saying, What have I to do with thee, thou king of Judah? I come not against thee this day, but against the house wherewith I have war: for God commanded me to make haste: forbear thee from meddling with God, who is with me, that he destroy thee not.

نکوہ نے اپنے قاصدوں کو یوسیاہ کے پاس بھیج کر اُسے اطلاع دی، ”اے یہوداہ کے بادشاہ، میرا آپ سے کیا واسطہ؟ اِس وقت مَیں آپ پر حملہ کرنے کے لئے نہیں نکلا بلکہ اُس شاہی خاندان پر جس کے ساتھ میرا جھگڑا ہے۔ اللہ نے فرمایا ہے کہ مَیں جلدی کروں۔ وہ تو میرے ساتھ ہے۔ چنانچہ اُس کا مقابلہ کرنے سے باز آئیں، ورنہ وہ آپ کو ہلاک کر دے گا۔“

Nevertheless Josiah would not turn his face from him, but disguised himself, that he might fight with him, and hearkened not unto the words of Necho from the mouth of God, and came to fight in the valley of Megiddo.

لیکن یوسیاہ باز نہ آیا بلکہ لڑنے کے لئے تیار ہوا۔ اُس نے نکوہ کی بات نہ مانی گو اللہ نے اُسے اُس کی معرفت آگاہ کیا تھا۔ چنانچہ وہ بھیس بدل کر فرعون سے لڑنے کے لئے مجِدّو کے میدان میں پہنچا۔

And the archers shot at king Josiah; and the king said to his servants, Have me away; for I am sore wounded.

جب لڑائی چھڑ گئی تو یوسیاہ تیروں سے زخمی ہوا، اور اُس نے اپنے ملازموں کو حکم دیا، ”مجھے یہاں سے لے جاؤ، کیونکہ مَیں سخت زخمی ہو گیا ہوں۔“

His servants therefore took him out of that chariot, and put him in the second chariot that he had; and they brought him to Jerusalem, and he died, and was buried in one of the sepulchres of his fathers. And all Judah and Jerusalem mourned for Josiah.

لوگوں نے اُسے اُس کے اپنے رتھ پر سے اُٹھا کر اُس کے ایک اَور رتھ میں رکھا جو اُسے یروشلم لے گیا۔ لیکن اُس نے وفات پائی، اور اُسے اپنے باپ دادا کے خاندانی قبرستان میں دفن کیا گیا۔ پورے یہوداہ اور یروشلم نے اُس کا ماتم کیا۔

And Jeremiah lamented for Josiah: and all the singing men and the singing women spake of Josiah in their lamentations to this day, and made them an ordinance in Israel: and, behold, they are written in the lamentations.

یرمیاہ نے یوسیاہ کی یاد میں ماتمی گیت لکھے، اور آج تک گیت گانے والے مرد و خواتین یوسیاہ کی یاد میں ماتمی گیت گاتے ہیں، یہ پکا دستور بن گیا ہے۔ یہ گیت ’نوحہ کی کتاب‘ میں درج ہیں۔

Now the rest of the acts of Josiah, and his goodness, according to that which was written in the law of the LORD,

باقی جو کچھ شروع سے لے کر آخر تک یوسیاہ کی حکومت کے دوران ہوا وہ ’شاہانِ یہوداہ و اسرائیل‘ کی کتاب میں بیان کیا گیا ہے۔ وہاں اُس کے نیک کاموں کا ذکر ہے اور یہ کہ اُس نے کس طرح شریعت کے احکام پر عمل کیا۔

And his deeds, first and last, behold, they are written in the book of the kings of Israel and Judah.

باقی جو کچھ شروع سے لے کر آخر تک یوسیاہ کی حکومت کے دوران ہوا وہ ’شاہانِ یہوداہ و اسرائیل‘ کی کتاب میں بیان کیا گیا ہے۔ وہاں اُس کے نیک کاموں کا ذکر ہے اور یہ کہ اُس نے کس طرح شریعت کے احکام پر عمل کیا۔
