II Chronicles 36

Then the people of the land took Jehoahaz the son of Josiah, and made him king in his father's stead in Jerusalem.

اُمّت نے یوسیاہ کے بیٹے یہوآخز کو باپ کے تخت پر بٹھا دیا۔

Jehoahaz was twenty and three years old when he began to reign, and he reigned three months in Jerusalem.

یہوآخز 23 سال کی عمر میں بادشاہ بنا، اور یروشلم میں اُس کی حکومت کا دورانیہ تین ماہ تھا۔

And the king of Egypt put him down at Jerusalem, and condemned the land in an hundred talents of silver and a talent of gold.

پھر مصر کے بادشاہ نے اُسے تخت سے اُتار دیا، اور ملکِ یہوداہ کو تقریباً 3,400 کلو گرام چاندی اور 34 کلو گرام سونا خراج کے طور پر ادا کرنا پڑا۔

And the king of Egypt made Eliakim his brother king over Judah and Jerusalem, and turned his name to Jehoiakim. And Necho took Jehoahaz his brother, and carried him to Egypt.

مصر کے بادشاہ نے یہوآخز کے سگے بھائی اِلیاقیم کو یہوداہ اور یروشلم کا نیا بادشاہ بنا کر اُس کا نام یہویقیم میں بدل دیا۔ یہوآخز کو وہ قید کر کے اپنے ساتھ مصر لے گیا۔

Jehoiakim was twenty and five years old when he began to reign, and he reigned eleven years in Jerusalem: and he did that which was evil in the sight of the LORD his God.

یہویقیم 25 سال کی عمر میں بادشاہ بنا، اور یروشلم میں رہ کر وہ 11 سال تک حکومت کرتا رہا۔ اُس کا چال چلن رب اُس کے خدا کو ناپسند تھا۔

Against him came up Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon, and bound him in fetters, to carry him to Babylon.

ایک دن بابل کے نبوکدنضر نے یہوداہ پر حملہ کیا اور یہویقیم کو پیتل کی زنجیروں میں جکڑ کر بابل لے گیا۔

Nebuchadnezzar also carried of the vessels of the house of the LORD to Babylon, and put them in his temple at Babylon.

نبوکدنضر رب کے گھر کی کئی قیمتی چیزیں بھی چھین کر اپنے ساتھ بابل لے گیا اور وہاں اپنے مندر میں رکھ دیں۔

Now the rest of the acts of Jehoiakim, and his abominations which he did, and that which was found in him, behold, they are written in the book of the kings of Israel and Judah: and Jehoiachin his son reigned in his stead.

باقی جو کچھ یہویقیم کی حکومت کے دوران ہوا وہ ’شاہانِ یہوداہ و اسرائیل‘ کی کتاب میں درج ہے۔ وہاں یہ بیان کیا گیا ہے کہ اُس نے کیسی گھنونی حرکتیں کیں اور کہ کیا کچھ اُس کے ساتھ ہوا۔ اُس کے بعد اُس کا بیٹا یہویاکین تخت نشین ہوا۔

Jehoiachin was eight years old when he began to reign, and he reigned three months and ten days in Jerusalem: and he did that which was evil in the sight of the LORD.

یہویاکین 18 سال کی عمر میں بادشاہ بنا، اور یروشلم میں اُس کی حکومت کا دورانیہ تین ماہ اور دس دن تھا۔ اُس کا چال چلن رب کو ناپسند تھا۔

And when the year was expired, king Nebuchadnezzar sent, and brought him to Babylon, with the goodly vessels of the house of the LORD, and made Zedekiah his brother king over Judah and Jerusalem.

بہار کے موسم میں نبوکدنضر بادشاہ نے حکم دیا کہ اُسے گرفتار کر کے بابل لے جایا جائے۔ ساتھ ساتھ فوجیوں نے رب کے گھر کی قیمتی چیزیں بھی چھین کر بابل پہنچائیں۔ یہویاکین کی جگہ نبوکدنضر نے یہویاکین کے چچا صِدقیاہ کو یہوداہ اور یروشلم کا بادشاہ بنا دیا۔

Zedekiah was one and twenty years old when he began to reign, and reigned eleven years in Jerusalem.

صِدقیاہ 21 سال کی عمر میں تخت نشین ہوا، اور یروشلم میں اُس کی حکومت کا دورانیہ 11 سال تھا۔

And he did that which was evil in the sight of the LORD his God, and humbled not himself before Jeremiah the prophet speaking from the mouth of the LORD.

اُس کا چال چلن رب اُس کے خدا کو ناپسند تھا۔ جب یرمیاہ نبی نے اُسے رب کی طرف سے آگاہ کیا تو اُس نے اپنے آپ کو نبی کے سامنے پست نہ کیا۔

And he also rebelled against king Nebuchadnezzar, who had made him swear by God: but he stiffened his neck, and hardened his heart from turning unto the LORD God of Israel.

صِدقیاہ کو اللہ کی قَسم کھا کر نبوکدنضر بادشاہ کا وفادار رہنے کا وعدہ کرنا پڑا۔ توبھی وہ کچھ دیر کے بعد سرکش ہو گیا۔ وہ اَڑ گیا، اور اُس کا دل اِتنا سخت ہو گیا کہ وہ رب اسرائیل کے خدا کی طرف دوبارہ رجوع کرنے کے لئے تیار نہیں تھا۔

Moreover all the chief of the priests, and the people, transgressed very much after all the abominations of the heathen; and polluted the house of the LORD which he had hallowed in Jerusalem.

لیکن یہوداہ کے راہنماؤں، اماموں اور قوم کی بےوفائی بھی بڑھتی گئی۔ پڑوسی قوموں کے گھنونے رسم و رواج اپنا کر اُنہوں نے رب کے گھر کو ناپاک کر دیا، گو اُس نے یروشلم میں یہ عمارت اپنے لئے مخصوص کی تھی۔

And the LORD God of their fathers sent to them by his messengers, rising up betimes, and sending; because he had compassion on his people, and on his dwelling place:

بار بار رب اُن کے باپ دادا کا خدا اپنے پیغمبروں کو اُن کے پاس بھیج کر اُنہیں سمجھاتا رہا، کیونکہ اُسے اپنی قوم اور سکونت گاہ پر ترس آتا تھا۔

But they mocked the messengers of God, and despised his words, and misused his prophets, until the wrath of the LORD arose against his people, till there was no remedy.

لیکن لوگوں نے اللہ کے پیغمبروں کا مذاق اُڑایا، اُن کے پیغام حقیر جانے اور نبیوں کو لعن طعن کی۔ آخرکار رب کا غضب اُن پر نازل ہوا، اور بچنے کا کوئی راستہ نہ رہا۔

Therefore he brought upon them the king of the Chaldees, who slew their young men with the sword in the house of their sanctuary, and had no compassion upon young man or maiden, old man, or him that stooped for age: he gave them all into his hand.

اُس نے بابل کے بادشاہ نبوکدنضر کو اُن کے خلاف بھیجا تو دشمن یہوداہ کے جوانوں کو تلوار سے قتل کرنے کے لئے مقدِس میں گھسنے سے بھی نہ جھجکے۔ کسی پر بھی رحم نہ کیا گیا، خواہ جوان مرد یا جوان خاتون، خواہ بزرگ یا عمر رسیدہ ہو۔ رب نے سب کو نبوکدنضر کے حوالے کر دیا۔

And all the vessels of the house of God, great and small, and the treasures of the house of the LORD, and the treasures of the king, and of his princes; all these he brought to Babylon.

نبوکدنضر نے اللہ کے گھر کی تمام چیزیں چھین لیں، خواہ وہ بڑی تھیں یا چھوٹی۔ وہ رب کے گھر، بادشاہ اور اُس کے اعلیٰ افسروں کے تمام خزانے بھی بابل لے گیا۔

And they burnt the house of God, and brake down the wall of Jerusalem, and burnt all the palaces thereof with fire, and destroyed all the goodly vessels thereof.

فوجیوں نے رب کے گھر اور تمام محلوں کو جلا کر یروشلم کی فصیل کو گرا دیا۔ جتنی بھی قیمتی چیزیں رہ گئی تھیں وہ تباہ ہوئیں۔

And them that had escaped from the sword carried he away to Babylon; where they were servants to him and his sons until the reign of the kingdom of Persia:

اور جو تلوار سے بچ گئے تھے اُنہیں بابل کا بادشاہ قید کر کے اپنے ساتھ بابل لے گیا۔ وہاں اُنہیں اُس کی اور اُس کی اولاد کی خدمت کرنی پڑی۔ اُن کی یہ حالت اُس وقت تک جاری رہی جب تک فارسی قوم کی سلطنت شروع نہ ہوئی۔

To fulfil the word of the LORD by the mouth of Jeremiah, until the land had enjoyed her sabbaths: for as long as she lay desolate she kept sabbath, to fulfil threescore and ten years.

یوں وہ کچھ پورا ہوا جس کی پیش گوئی رب نے یرمیاہ نبی کی معرفت کی تھی، کیونکہ زمین کو آخرکار سبت کا وہ آرام مل گیا جو بادشاہوں نے اُسے نہیں دیا تھا۔ جس طرح نبی نے کہا تھا، اب زمین 70 سال تک تباہ اور ویران رہی۔

Now in the first year of Cyrus king of Persia, that the word of the LORD spoken by the mouth of Jeremiah might be accomplished, the LORD stirred up the spirit of Cyrus king of Persia, that he made a proclamation throughout all his kingdom, and put it also in writing, saying,

فارس کے بادشاہ خورس کی حکومت کے پہلے سال میں رب نے وہ کچھ پورا ہونے دیا جس کی پیش گوئی اُس نے یرمیاہ کی معرفت کی تھی۔ اُس نے خورس کو ذیل کا اعلان کرنے کی تحریک دی۔ یہ اعلان زبانی اور تحریری طور پر پوری بادشاہی میں کیا گیا۔

Thus saith Cyrus king of Persia, All the kingdoms of the earth hath the LORD God of heaven given me; and he hath charged me to build him an house in Jerusalem, which is in Judah. Who is there among you of all his people? The LORD his God be with him, and let him go up.

”فارس کا بادشاہ خورس فرماتا ہے، رب آسمان کے خدا نے دنیا کے تمام ممالک میرے حوالے کر دیئے ہیں۔ اُس نے مجھے یہوداہ کے شہر یروشلم میں اُس کے لئے گھر بنانے کی ذمہ داری دی ہے۔ آپ میں سے جتنے اُس کی قوم کے ہیں یروشلم کے لئے روانہ ہو جائیں۔ رب آپ کا خدا آپ کے ساتھ ہو۔“
