Psalms 124

If it had not been the LORD who was on our side, now may Israel say;

Пісня прочан. Давидова. Коли б не Господь, що був з нами нехай но ізраїль повість!

If it had not been the LORD who was on our side, when men rose up against us:

коли б не Господь, що був з нами, як повстала була на нас людина,

Then they had swallowed us up quick, when their wrath was kindled against us:

то нас поковтали б живцем, коли розпалився на нас їхній гнів,

Then the waters had overwhelmed us, the stream had gone over our soul:

то нас позаливала б вода, душу нашу потік перейшов би,

Then the proud waters had gone over our soul.

душу нашу тоді перейшла б та бурхлива вода!

Blessed be the LORD, who hath not given us as a prey to their teeth.

Благословенний Господь, що не дав нас на здобич для їхніх зубів!

Our soul is escaped as a bird out of the snare of the fowlers: the snare is broken, and we are escaped.

Душа наша, як птах, урятувалась із сільця птахоловів, сільце розірвалось, а ми врятувались!

Our help is in the name of the LORD, who made heaven and earth.

Наша поміч ув імені Господа, що вчинив небо й землю!
