Isaiah 1

The vision of Isaiah the son of Amoz, which he saw concerning Judah and Jerusalem in the days of Uzziah, Jotham, Ahaz, and Hezekiah, kings of Judah.

Ορασις Ησαιου υιου Αμως, την οποιαν ειδε περι του Ιουδα και της Ιερουσαλημ, εν ταις ημεραις Οζιου Ιωαθαμ, Αχαζ και Εζεκιου, βασιλεων Ιουδα.

Hear, O heavens, and give ear, O earth: for the LORD hath spoken, I have nourished and brought up children, and they have rebelled against me.

Ακουσατε, ουρανοι, και ακροασθητι, γη διοτι ο Κυριος ελαλησεν Υιους εθρεψα και υψωσα, αλλ αυτοι απεστατησαν απ εμου.

The ox knoweth his owner, and the ass his master's crib: but Israel doth not know, my people doth not consider.

Ο βους γνωριζει τον κτητορα αυτου και ο ονος την φατνην του κυριου αυτου ο Ισραηλ δεν γνωριζει, ο λαος μου δεν εννοει.

Ah sinful nation, a people laden with iniquity, a seed of evildoers, children that are corrupters: they have forsaken the LORD, they have provoked the Holy One of Israel unto anger, they are gone away backward.

Ουαι, εθνος αμαρτωλον, λαε πεφορτωμενε ανομιαν, σπερμα κακοποιων υιοι διεφθαρμενοι εγκατελιπον τον Κυριον, κατεφρονησαν τον Αγιον του Ισραηλ, εστραφησαν εις τα οπισω.

Why should ye be stricken any more? ye will revolt more and more: the whole head is sick, and the whole heart faint.

Δια τι παιδευομενοι θελετε επιπροσθετει στασιασμον; ολη η κεφαλη ειναι αρρωστος και ολη η καρδια κεχαυνωμενη

From the sole of the foot even unto the head there is no soundness in it; but wounds, and bruises, and putrifying sores: they have not been closed, neither bound up, neither mollified with ointment.

απο ιχνους ποδος μεχρι κεφαλης δεν υπαρχει εν αυτω ακεραιοτης αλλα τραυματα και μελανισματα και ελκη σεσηποτα δεν εξεπιεσθησαν ουδε εδεθησαν ουδε εμαλακωθησαν δι αλοιφης

Your country is desolate, your cities are burned with fire: your land, strangers devour it in your presence, and it is desolate, as overthrown by strangers.

η γη σας ειναι ερημος, αι πολεις σας πυρικαυστοι την γην σας ξενοι κατατρωγουσιν εμπροσθεν σας και ειναι ερημος, ως πεπορθημενη υπο αλλοφυλων

And the daughter of Zion is left as a cottage in a vineyard, as a lodge in a garden of cucumbers, as a besieged city.

και η θυγατηρ Σιων εγκαταλελειμμενη ως καλυβη εν αμπελωνι, ως οπωροφυλακιον εν κηπω αγγουριων ως πολις πολιορκουμενη.

Except the LORD of hosts had left unto us a very small remnant, we should have been as Sodom, and we should have been like unto Gomorrah.

Αν ο Κυριος των δυναμεων δεν ηθελεν αφησει εις ημας μικρον υπολοιπον, ως τα Σοδομα ηθελομεν γεινει, με τα Γομορρα ηθελομεν εξομοιωθη.

Hear the word of the LORD, ye rulers of Sodom; give ear unto the law of our God, ye people of Gomorrah.

Ακουσατε τον λογον του Κυριου, αρχοντες Σοδομων ακροασθητι τον νομον του Θεου ημων, λαε Γομορρων.

To what purpose is the multitude of your sacrifices unto me? saith the LORD: I am full of the burnt offerings of rams, and the fat of fed beasts; and I delight not in the blood of bullocks, or of lambs, or of he goats.

Τινα χρειαν εχω του πληθους των θυσιων σας; λεγει Κυριος κεχορτασμενος ειμαι απο ολοκαυτωματων κριων και απο παχους των σιτευτων και δεν ευαρεστουμαι εις αιμα ταυρων η αρνιων η τραγων.

When ye come to appear before me, who hath required this at your hand, to tread my courts?

Οταν ερχησθε να εμφανισθητε ενωπιον μου, τις εζητησεν εκ των χειρων σας τουτο, να πατητε τας αυλας μου;

Bring no more vain oblations; incense is an abomination unto me; the new moons and sabbaths, the calling of assemblies, I cannot away with; it is iniquity, even the solemn meeting.

Μη φερετε πλεον, ματαιας προσφορας το θυμιαμα ειναι βδελυγμα εις εμε τας νεομηνιας και τα σαββατα, την συγκαλεσιν των συναξεων, δεν δυναμαι να υποφερω, ανομιαν και πανηγυρικην συναξιν.

Your new moons and your appointed feasts my soul hateth: they are a trouble unto me; I am weary to bear them.

Τας νεομηνιας σας και τας διατεταγμενας εορτας σας μισει η ψυχη μου ειναι φορτιον εις εμε εβαρυνθην να υποφερω.

And when ye spread forth your hands, I will hide mine eyes from you: yea, when ye make many prayers, I will not hear: your hands are full of blood.

Και οταν εκτεινητε τας χειρας σας, θελω κρυπτει τους οφθαλμους μου απο σας ναι, οταν πληθυνητε δεησεις, δεν θελω εισακουει αι χειρες σας ειναι πληρεις αιματων.

Wash you, make you clean; put away the evil of your doings from before mine eyes; cease to do evil;

Λουσθητε, καθαρισθητε αποβαλετε την κακιαν των πραξεων σας απ εμπροσθεν των οφθαλμων μου παυσατε πραττοντες το κακον,

Learn to do well; seek judgment, relieve the oppressed, judge the fatherless, plead for the widow.

μαθετε να πραττητε το καλον εκζητησατε κρισιν, καμετε ευθυτητα εις τον δεδυναστευμενον, κρινατε τον ορφανον, προστατευσατε την δικην της χηρας

Come now, and let us reason together, saith the LORD: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool.

Ελθετε τωρα, και ας διαδικασθωμεν, λεγει Κυριος εαν αι αμαρτιαι σας ηναι ως το πορφυρουν, θελουσι γεινει λευκαι ως χιων εαν ηναι ερυθραι ως κοκκινον, θελουσι γεινει ως λευκον μαλλιον.

If ye be willing and obedient, ye shall eat the good of the land:

Εαν θελητε και υπακουσητε, θελετε φαγει τα αγαθα της γης

But if ye refuse and rebel, ye shall be devoured with the sword: for the mouth of the LORD hath spoken it.

εαν ομως δεν θελητε και αποστατησητε, θελετε καταφαγωθη υπο μαχαιρας διοτι το στομα του Κυριου ελαλησε.

How is the faithful city become an harlot! it was full of judgment; righteousness lodged in it; but now murderers.

Πως η πιστη πολις κατεσταθη πορνη, ητο πληρης κρισεων η δικαιοσυνη κατωκει εν αυτη αλλα τωρα, φονεις.

Thy silver is become dross, thy wine mixed with water:

Ο αργυρος σου κατεσταθη σκωρια, ο οινος σου συνεκερασθη μεθ υδατος.

Thy princes are rebellious, and companions of thieves: every one loveth gifts, and followeth after rewards: they judge not the fatherless, neither doth the cause of the widow come unto them.

Οι αρχοντες σου ειναι απειθεις και συντροφοι κλεπτων παντες αγαπωσι δωρα και κυνηγουσιν αντιπληρωμας δεν κρινουσι τον ορφανον ουδε ερχεται η δικη της χηρας προς αυτους.

Therefore saith the Lord, the LORD of hosts, the mighty One of Israel, Ah, I will ease me of mine adversaries, and avenge me of mine enemies:

Δια τουτο λεγει ο Κυριος, ο Κυριος των δυναμεων, ο Κραταιος του Ισραηλ, Ω, θελω χορτασθη επι τους εναντιους μου και θελω εκδικηθη κατα των εχθρων μου

And I will turn my hand upon thee, and purely purge away thy dross, and take away all thy tin:

και θελω στρεψει την χειρα μου επι σε και αποκαθαρισει την σκωριαν σου και αφαιρεσει ολον σου τον κασσιτερον.

And I will restore thy judges as at the first, and thy counsellors as at the beginning: afterward thou shalt be called, The city of righteousness, the faithful city.

Και θελω αποκαταστησει τους κριτας σου ως το προτερον και τους συμβουλους σου ως το απ αρχης μετα ταυτα θελεις ονομασθη η πολις της δικαιοσυνης, η πιστη πολις.

Zion shall be redeemed with judgment, and her converts with righteousness.

Η Σιων θελει εξαγορασθη δια κρισεως, και οι επιστρεψαντες αυτης δια δικαιοσυνης.

And the destruction of the transgressors and of the sinners shall be together, and they that forsake the LORD shall be consumed.

Και οι παρανομοι και οι αμαρτωλοι ομου θελουσι καταστραφη, και οι εγκαταλιποντες τον Κυριον θελουσι καταναλωθη.

For they shall be ashamed of the oaks which ye have desired, and ye shall be confounded for the gardens that ye have chosen.

Διοτι θελετε καταισχυνθη δια τα αλση, τα οποια επεθυμησατε, και θελετε εντραπη δια τους κηπους, τους οποιους εξελεξατε.

For ye shall be as an oak whose leaf fadeth, and as a garden that hath no water.

Επειδη θελετε γεινει ως δρυς, της οποιας τα φυλλα μαραινονται, και ως κηπος, οστις δεν εχει υδωρ.

And the strong shall be as tow, and the maker of it as a spark, and they shall both burn together, and none shall quench them.

Και ο ισχυρος θελει εισθαι ως καλαμιον στυπιου, και το εργον αυτου ως σπινθηρ, και θελουσι καυθη και τα δυο ομου, και δεν θελει εισθαι ο σβυνων.
